Review Cagneys Steakhouse & Winebar - Mississauga

Some friends and I went to Cagney’s for a celebration. The restaurant was a comfortable temperature, great ambiance and had lovely jazz music playing. It was very clean inside and the servers were professional and polite. My friends both had NY steak, one with the loaded potato and the other had the mushrooms. I ordered the Greek style chicken. The portions were very generous and the food was delicious. Thank you for a beautiful dining experience!

The lobster is so tender and juicy. The veggies were a bit raw and my loaded potato wasn't seasoned but overall the food was delectable. The restaurant is so clean and gives off a luxurious vibe. Excellent customer service, food doesn't take long to arrive. Must try the shrimp cocktail!

Came upon this place randomly so we decided to try it . Very nice steak house! The food was great and the steaks were perfect ! Our server was awesome and very friendly. I will definitely be back here for another meal . i would recommend this place for sure! Definitely stop in for a bite!

Great ambiance and decor. Steak was cooked perfectly. Seafood pasta was nothing special. Their butter (to die for!) and bread was delish. Decent wine list and great service. We celebrated our anniversary and the complimentary champagne was a nice surprise!

Place is located in a plaza, nice decor inside though. Staff was friendly and attentive. Set menu was a 3-course meal of appetizer (chose soup), main (chose salmon), and dessert (chose cheesecake). Portions were big. Me head tagged good but nothing extraordinary. Meal was $75 each plus mandatory 18% tip. Meal want worth that amount. We were a party of 17 so to is expected but why 18%? Nice, but won't be back.

For my fiancé and I's first experience at Cagney's, the food was absolutely amazing. It was even made better by having Mark, the best server ever! Besides promptly checking on us and making sure we enjoyed our dish, my fiancé actually wanted a different drink than he originally ordered. And Mark made sure it was no problem switching it out! His positive attitude made the experience even better. Originally, a coworker recommended this dinner place for us to try and we'll be sure to come back again one day. Good food and even greater service. Loved it!

I love this place! I have had stake from so many other restaurants but none of them make it the way Cagney’s does. So juicy, tasty and perfectly cooked just the way you ask them to. Great presentation, food is always on point and super delicious. Friendly staff, great service. Mark and Montana are amazing!

If you’re genuinely looking for quality food & service, you must dine here! We had the most amazing night at Cagney’s & ordered a lot of different food & drinks. We ate the Cagney’s flatbread, Greek saganaki (our absolute favourite & amazing views of the fire!), mashed potatoes (garlic heaven), pescatore pasta (our second favourite & so delicious), filet mignon bacon wrapped 8oz & original cheesecake & lava cake for dessert! You can truly taste the freshness in their ingredients and the sweetness in the service. 11/10 HIGHLY recommend for a fun night out, the restaurant itself is absolutely stunning & we’re going back once we’re allowed to dine in! In the mean time they offer takeout so take advantage!

Cagney's is by far the worst restaurant I have ever dealt with. Their service is terrible, and the manager Alex is extremely rude. I booked a party for 50 people, and last minute calling to confirm my reservation a week before the date, they tell me they have to cancel it. DO NOT GO HERE! Especially if you are booking for a large party size. With their poor communication, service and professionalism, they are not worth your business.

Rib is ok, but serving was very slow, we waited for 1 hour after order, though there were lots of empty desk. The pre-dinner bread was too hard to chew. In gerenal, it was not a bad experience, but we donot think we will come again.

I went to Cagneys for a date night with my husband. While dining, the service was excellent. I ordered the Butternut Squash Ravioli. Later than night and the next day I was extremely sick. I had to visit an urgent care center because I was so ill after dining at Cagneys, and it was determined that I had food poisoning and I was prescribed antibiotics by the doctor. I was still ill three days after dining at Cagneys. <br/><br/>To prevent this from happening again to anyone else, I decided to call Cagneys to advise them about my experience. I spoke to the manager Gus,and I explained that the service that night I ate at the establishment was wonderful. However I was really sick after eating my meal and that I was told that I had food poisoning. Gus then began to argue and yell at me indicating that there was no way I became ill from eating at Cagneys. I was shocked by his behaviour, totally unprofessional. He continued to yell at me even after I explained that I just wanted to ensure that this didn't happen to anyone else. I would never recommend this establishment. I will make sure that I post this story on every review link I can find.

Popped in for a quick lunch and tried the flatbread and a leek soup. Both were perfect. The flat bread was especially great. The service was very friendly and prompt.

When Cagneys was suggested as our Friday night destination of choice, I had to do some quick Googling in order to determine its location and menu offerings.<br/><br/>According to Yelp, the self-classified steakhouse and wine bar underwent a substantial renovation just before the holiday season. As this was my first visit, I can't comment on the effectiveness or potential increase in visual appeal as a result of these upgrades, but I can confirm that the end product was rather lovely.<br/><br/>The long entranceway, made mysterious and a tad alluring through the use of a blue-toned lights and fireplace mounted on texturized stone wall, was a drastic contrast from the weathered plaza that the restaurant was located within. The interior decor was sophisticated and modest, with a mere touch of ambiguity. Divided into two sections, the left led towards a cozy dining area with black booths and dim lighting, while the right featured a drink bar and several television screens, sports bar-style.

I had dinner there Sunday night and was recommend the butternut squash ravioli in a lemon sage sauce. I was very disappointed as I could not taste lemon or sage , the sauce had a texture of wallpaper paste and the ravioli was tough.<br/>The waitress was lovely and my friends enjoyed their meals. Mine was the only dud. Back to Saucy's and andianamos I go where I have never had a bad meal and the prices are Cheeper.

The sauce of the Pascatore Pasta was the best I have ever eaten that I used bread to mop up the sauce It was very delicious overall except the seafood was a bit undercooked for my liking. The Cheesecake that my friend order but I are was to die for I was in heaven. Server was not very attentive when it came to refilling my water glass

Horrible service, extremely overpriced. Was with a party of about a dozen, food was good, but nothing I could not have gotten for half the price at Jack Astors or somewhere like that. The service is what really turned us all off....the waitress did not come back to the table to refill water glasses, when asked to do so she only refilled the glass of the person that requested it, she did not come back to the table throughout the meal to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything, at the end of the meal she did not offer coffee tea or dessert. We sat idle for so long basically had to demand the bill, she brought the bill over and didn't return with a credit/debit machine for 40 mins. The menu has a note that they will charge 18% gratuity to large groups, we complained about the service and they knocked it down to 12%....I hope all that gratuity goes to the cooks because the servers were useless. Would not return if my life counted on it.

Overpriced & Bland Food. Food was mediocre at best. Bland & small portion sizes. If I'm spending 100 plus on a meal with appetizer I would hope it was somewhat worth it. Not at Cagney's. Renos look great but I can't eat the chandelier. Food took way to long 50 mins or so. Out of stock on the cheaper wine selection so they recommended a $70 / bottle instead. Yah no thanks. I won't be back.

Don't waste your time or money. Don't bother making reservations , because when they SAY you have a res made a MONTH in advance and confirmed week of....it means NOTHING as we found out when we showed up ON TIME to be told 1st come 1st serve ....once we finally were able to gets seats for us ...... We waited 50 yes FIFTY minutes and didn't have a drink or an app yet....we had ordered 2x $42 bottle of red ....we were told they didn't have that ...but they suggested another .....I asked for the wine menu ....they didn't have the $ 42 bottle but they conveniently did have the $68 they suggested in its place ....ah.......NO <br/>Food was average at best ....and pricey ...shrimp app $25.00 and you get 3... THREE shrimp these aren't prawns <br/>They are average sized shrimp ....everyone received their meal ....I ...have nothing ,,I call waitress over and she says oh .....I thought you were going to share ...WHY would she think 8 people ordered food ...but only 7 ..want to eat ???<br/>Overall ..the food service was bad ...the food was Average...the customer service was beyond bad<br/>The only good thing I can say is ....the hostess was sweet and tried her BEST to try and redeem what the owner managed to blow off as far as return business .

Beautiful Restaurant with expensive and mediocre food. The ambiance for Cagneys is fabulous which makes it a nice place to go for a date or special occasion. I've been there twice now and the food is consistently mediocre, especially for the price. <br/><br/>I ordered a steak the first time which had zero flavor. I went with a fairly large group and no one had anything spectacular to say about their meal. The second time I went for a birthday dinner and ordered the butternut squash ravioli which was pretty good, but nothing else on the table looked good. We ordered the hand pressed burger and the stuffed chicken (which looked undercooked) and it was all very generic. <br/><br/>The only thing that is amazing at this restaurant in their bread and calamari. <br/><br/>Their ambiance and service are good, but I wouldn't go back for the food that's for sure.

Hands on owner with passion for his customers. My first time was a few weeks ago. Went on a Friday night and it was busy. No reservation- will not make that mistake again. <br/>New to the place - no worry the man gave us some great suggestions. The food was awesome. <br/>The place had a buzz and a great feeling. <br/><br/> Also found a white wine that was awesome- I usually do not drink white wine. <br/>After a few quick conversations found out they have some special things like live music once in a while, dj's, cocktail hours. <br/><br/>Alex is the man- found the place where I will be hanging. If you have never been you gotta check it out. You will be going back.

Real time review. I am just finishing another Saturday lunch here ... I have been coming on the weekend periodically for about 6 months. <br/><br/>I love this place ... it's almost everything you want in a restaurant .. excellent food, service and decor ... it's an upscale Moxie's ... <br/><br/>Why do I say almost? ... because I have had a problem with the music level every time that I have been here. I have found it wayyyyyy too loud, have checked with other customers to make sure that it's not just me .. it's not ... have kindly requested that it be turned down .. and Alex, the owner, (who has always been there) has done so immediately. It's just that everytime I come ... same thing ... the music is always deafening and I continue to have to ask for it to be turned down.<br/><br/>So, today .. I walked in and .. again .. the sound level is through the roof. I checked with the only other customer in the bar area with me .. she also found the music way too loud .. I asked our server if she could please turn it down .. she told me that that the the system "was locked" by 'Gus' .. Alex's father and previous owner .. and that no-one on staff had the key. <br/><br/>My wonderful!!! server (thankyou again) .. spoke to Gus .. and he did turn the music down. But we still found it uncomfortably loud and kindly requested that it be lowered more. <br/><br/>Gus came out to the bar ... our server directed him to us .. I told him that I appreciated him turning the music down but that it was still too loud. He said "there are other customers besides you," and started to walk away. I responded that I would check with the rest of the customers who had arrived ... I did .. and they told me that they found the music too loud but didn't want to say anything..<br/><br/>I returned to the bar. Gus was bent over underneath. I called to him twice. He didn't respond .. he walked away and left the area. <br/><br/>Alex came in shortly after. The other customer at the bar and I talked to him about what had happened. I also told Alex that I would not come back and that I would be posting my very positive and negative review. <br/><br/>The music was turned down. Gus appeared before me about 15 minutes later ... said "I'm sorry" ... told me something about the music system having individual speakers throughout the restaurant and that the bar area had somehow been set too loud. He started walking away again. I asked him to apologize for the way he treated me when I confirmed that the other customers also found the music too loud and wanted it turned down. He apologized, I thanked him and told him that I would be back. <br/><br/>So, you are forewarned ... and .. if you find the music too loud, don't hesitate to ask Alex or Gus to turn it down ...

First of all, location is in a bad spot. It's in a strip mall with run down stores. <br/>The restaurant itself is very nicely done. <br/><br/>We sat down and waited 15 min for the server to come to us...instead of taking a drink order, he told us the specials. Then he walked away and 10 min later comes back with ice water. Then goes away again to come back and take our order!!!! I said how about ordering cocktails???? <br/>A restaurants main cash is alcohol. I have never been to a restaurant that doesn't ask their patrons for a drink order first. Then you should go place that order come back and take their food order by then drinks should be ready. But no...this guy took our food order and disappeared again for 20 min and still no martinis and when he did bring our drinks they weren't the right ones. I never said anything cause it may take the bartender and server another 20 min. <br/><br/>The food was ok...nothing grand. The oysters weren't that fresh. Calamari same as other places. Too much breading. The butternut squash pasta had too much cream sauce and way too much balsamic drizzle ontop. It over powered the pasta. I've traveled all over the world and have dined in all price points. This place was just ok. <br/><br/>This place needs to work on teaching their serving staff on service skills. <br/>Maybe they need more servers to work the floor. Our guy seemed overwhelmed.

I have been going to Cagney's for about 12 years. I agree that it did need a reno, but there was something about that dark dingy restaurant with great food. The renos look great. The food was excellent. I'm so glad they kept they're original Caesar salad recipe. The only complaint I have is the price has almost doubled. My wife and I were regulars there before the reno and it would cost around 90 bucks plus tip for a great meal in a busy restaurant. We have been back twice after the reno and it has cost 155 plus tip both times for the same meals we used to order, the saddest part is the restaurant was almost empty on a Friday night. I hope this isn't a sign of bad things to come to Cagney's. We will be back when we can afford it.

Huge disappointment. We have been regular customers at cagneys for 31 years , always had great food and great service as a family of nine we made it our place for birthdays anniversarys and took company there all the time. We where amazed at its beautiful Reno hands down gorgeous. Food is not as good as before , menu lacks choices, no longer kid or family friendly. So so disappointing I wish we would of just left. We wil wait to see how long it will be before the business goes under since they probably lost most of there clientele. So sad, I really hope they are successful.

Extremely disappointed! We .... Extremely disappointed!<br/>We have been long, long time customers of Cagney's. No one would argue that this restaurant was in desperate need of updating. This reno took a very long time, but loyal customers were willing to wait for the "new and improved" Cagneys. <br/>Sadly, it was not worth the wait. The decor is a massive improvement. But the accolades stop there.<br/> I, too, agree that you pay for fine dining, which often includes smaller portions and higher prices. However, fine dining can justify these prices with exquisite food, and impeccable service. Cagney's misses the mark on these points, by a long shot.<br/>We will not be back.

Get over it people. Been dying to check this place out since the reno! So glad I did finally an upscale restaurant in mississauga renos are ultra chic not one detail missed. yes its a little pricier but fine dining and impeccable service is not cheap. if u want to pay for cheap booze and a pound of wings go to one if the other scuzzy pubs in the area ... there's plenty

Disgusted!!. Went to dinner last night for a friends birthday and although the new reno's were nice they do not suit the Streetsville location. We were highly disappointed with the new menu. The food was way over priced and the portions were very small. You get more food in Yorkville for these prices. The service was also very slow. After paying $140 for dinner for two people and leaving hungry, I will not be returning to the new Cagney's, which is unfortunate as this has been a family favorite for many years. Sadly I do not see this place staying in business much longer. (and by the way I know this might sound like a review from and old couple who doesn't like to party, we are thirty and we love to party)

Finally good food in mississauga!<br/>Incredible food, staff and ambiance. My parents use to go all the time, now I actually want to go as a night out. The food actually has taste, and healthy options! All in house made. Can really taste the difference. Prices match keg etc, if not better and the food kills all those other places.

Crap. 25 year returning customer...50% increase in cost of chicken salad with tiny amount of dressing...dry...no real choice in draft beer only micros...where are old standards CDN, Stella etc...old R&R music changed to elevator music...very disappointed ...will never return...rather brown bag it than pay downtown Toronto prices for a salad in Sreetsville of all places!!!! predict will fail by 2015 without changes to suit their old and loyal customers...too late...they are gone as has all the old staff who knew us and what our order was as we came in...and I'm from Mississauga not Toronto

Very disappointed!!! :(. Was my husbands birthday on Jan 17 2014, we went to cagney's was very impressed with the Reno but when we realized the menu had completely changed we were very disappointed... We were a big fan of the chicken souvlaki dish which was no longer available on the menu. We brought our two kids and we were told that there is no longer a kids menu so they had to eat the $17 bison burger which was very dry and they couldn't even eat it!!! My husband had the rib steak and asked for med-rare he ended up getting well done and very dry. I had the salmon and substituted the lentils for mash potatoes. It was just average, we had a few other guest and they were disappointed as well. we are usually not complainers but after a $200 bill and leaving still hungry, just feel why change something that didn't need changing. Will not be returning!!!

Not impressed. I was a regular client for 30 years. Yes, they needed a renovation, but I think they missed the mark. Although it is very nice, they went to the extreme. It is no longer a family restaurant. As a regualar client, I know the old familiar restaurant. Unfortunately the menu is lacking the old food options....which is why my husband and I went their I the first place With the new menu they are going for a more upscale cliental and the higher prices show that. <br/>While we were there, a table of 4 came in. I heard them discussing the menu with huge disappointment. They got up and left without ordering. Something I wish we had done as well.<br/>Although the meal was ok, it was disappointing. The chicken I had was very bland and a little rubbery. The skin was fat. The popular chicken restaurant has much better chicken and flavour. My husband had the salmon. He said it was good, but nothing special. It came on a bed of lentils which he did not like. We do not drink alcohol, so we ordered cokes. My husband got a refill. When we got the bill, they charged 3.25 for each coke...no free refills.<br/>The caesar salad is the same recipe, although a much smaller portion. That is the good thing about the new Cagneys. <br/>After being a loyal customer for 30 years, it is sad to say that we will never go back.<br/> When they renovated, they would have been better off changing the name. I honestly feel feel that people that are familiar with the old Cagneys, will not be impressed with the changes.<br/>If this restaurant was located in the entertainment district in Toronto, it would fit right in. The new look does not fit in the current area<br/><br/>I do wish the new restaurant success, although I do not think that will happen.<br/><br/>Sadly, a disappointed customer

Not kid friendly since reno. I can't actually write a proper review of the new Cagney's because we didn't get passed reception on Jan 3'rd 2014. We had been to Cagney's many times in the last 5 years, always with our 3 kids, and had enjoyable, fair priced meals. The restaurant was in desperate need of a renovation, but the food was good and the kids enjoyed it. <br/><br/>We were immediately greeted at the desk by a very nice waitress who showed the kids some of the renovations and actually took them into the dining room to see the new chandelier. I was immediately impressed, the renovation took a long time but the inside looks fantastic. They obviously spent some serious capital on this upgrade. <br/><br/>This is where the fun stopped. The hostess wanted us to see the menu before being seated, because they no longer have a kids menu. And the chef wasn't making separate kids dishes. <br/><br/>The menu looks very good. Upscale to the old Cagney's. Even including bison, grilled squid and octopus. But there was nothing on there we could serve to our 4 year old. Outside of ordering her a $17 pasta or a flatbread, we were stuck. <br/><br/>We were told they are looking at changing and adding to the menu, but have had many families leave because they couldn't guarantee their children would be happy. <br/><br/>We politely declined to be seated, and told them we would certainly be back. The hostess said "maybe by yourself, without the kids" with a smile. <br/><br/>Our assumption is the Cagney's owners are looking to avoid kids in their restaurant now. And that is fair enough, we can't argue with that. But they had lots of empty seats and we ended up spending $100 on dinner at Goodfellows down the street. You can't go wrong with pizza and pasta for kids. <br/><br/>Hopefully I'll write a future review of Cagney's because we really wanted to try the food. Even if you don't publish a kids menu, it would be my suggestion to have some flexibility on the menu offering or maybe an "unpublished" kids menu like Union Social has. We would love to spend $100 at Cagney's sometime soon....

In the past - it was the gem in streetsville. Went back after the renos and new menu. Horrible. The chicken was cold almost frozen and the veggies runny and like rubber. The wraps tasted like month old crackers - the service was horrific, I reminded the server of our wine order three times - never got it. We gave up. It's too bad that the original owners would let a restaurant like this fail so miserably. After 20 years of being a regular - unfortunately I won't be back.

New look, new menu, great ambience. You will be amazed at the NEW Cagney's. Great menu, above average service. Best restaurant in Mississauga.

A Hole in a Strip Mall. From perfected Greek classics to elevated Canadian staples, this place puts out quality on each plate. Pair your meal with a unique offering of imported draught beers. Cagney's longevity in an ever changing, cut-throat restaurant market, is evidence in itself of its consistency in delivering fresh food and excellent service.

Nothing can surpass the HORRIBLE service and atmosphere here.. Cagneys has the worst service in the universe. I purchased $15 for $30 cuisine from clipdeals from this website https://www.clipdeals.com/index. It was not honoured by the establishment. Not only was it not honoured but I was riduculed by the waitress and the owner, Gus. They said "why would you pay for a coupon? are you crazy?" and "f*&# off". They also said "Are you crazy you want to pay only $4.00" I explained to them that you made a deal with clipdeals and I already paid $15.00 for this gift certificate. They were rude and do not have any customer service or professional etiquette. Clipdeals expained later that there was a slight communication problem between Gus and Alex, the owners , but regardless, no decent establishment should treat their patrons this way. If they did not want people to come with gift certificates, then do not make deals with online deal websites. This is a low class place. Do not go.

Another great meal! I have been coming here since I was a kid...now 43. I go with the beef dip with BBQ sauce instead of au jus... With thier great round Kringle fries and you MUST have a starter ceasar salad, best on earth and will keep away the vampires for a day!!

Cagney's restaurant. Food was great and so was the service. We had the cesear's salad and it was good. The salmon was delicious and so was the dessert. It was my birthday and the waitress seen my daughter pass me my present and she brought a piece of cake with a candle and sang happy birthday along with another waitress. i'd definely go again.

Cagney's  has been around in Streetsville for a very long time and has always been a local favourite. Since its recent renovations, it now operates as an upscale lounge restaurant. We were excited to visit and see whether the renovations and new menu made a turn for the better or for the worse.    The interior atmosphere of the restaurant is definitely in line with what they envisioned. The lighting is reminiscent of a club or lounge you would found in downtown Toronto. For those who have been to Streetsville, this change may prove to be a bit on the puzzling side as nothing else in Streestville mirrors the establishments one might find in Toronto's entertainment district.  Fish Tacos Pickled Beet Salad - the salad was a bit on the sour side but the deep fried goat cheese was definitely tasty and interesting to try.  Calamari Vegas Frites - these fries were highly recommended by people who had visited Cagney's and they were good but nothing spectacular. It seems a little troubling that

Gord and I had brunch today at Cagney's.  It's located in a strip mall on the main street so there is lots of free parking. We got there right at 11am just as they were opening. It was renovated late last year (we'd never been before) and is really nice inside. Our brunch was delicious! Our server was Roshan and he took excellent care of us!  He was very friendly and helpful.

Having a restaurant next to a bowling alley located in a strip mall is almost never a good thing, unless what one finds inside is so

From the bread basket to the flat bread and to our mains, it was a joy to share the meal. The ribs most especially was so tender, it willingly fell off the bone. Such a generous serving, I brought half the plate home with me. I cannot comprehend why the restaurant is not as popular as their food was clearly very well thought and very well presented.

Upon the waiter's recommendation I tried the certified Angus New York steak with tender New York striploin served with seasonal vegetables and choice of potato ($44 prix fixe). I eat steak rare and I think that's a mistake in some cases I do this at Keg often and perhaps it ex

Just finished dinner at Cagney's... Actually, I didn't get to finish my dinner because we were asked to vacate the table for another party before dessert was served.<br/><br/>The server was nice and friendly, however, the meal was far from perfect. She forgot my drink order to start, and we had to remind her that I had ordered one.<br/>I mentioned that I was a vegetarian, so she made sure that my ceasar salad had no bacon (without me even asking! Awesome!)... But then when my pasta entree arrived, it was topped with cured meat. It seems as though none of their entrees are animal free. <br/><br/>The guy who I assume is the manager prioritized other people over our party, promised dessert/drinks on them, but then made no effort to make us feel welcome.<br/>When out designated driver said he was driving, he tried to push more drinks on us.<br/><br/>I'm leaving this restaurant very frustrated by this dining experience. <br/><br/>Food: 2/10 - if you have only 1 veggie option, don't put meat in it.<br/>Service: 0/10 - slow, unwelcoming, got pushed out by the manager<br/><br/>Not worth the time and money :(<br/>

No complaints about the food- although some members of my party did. The front of house didn't manage the service properly so we were asked to make way for the next group after we had been there for less than 2 hours. I'll suggest a different place next time.

It seems a little troubling that of all the menu items, the dish that most people recommend is a fries appetizer. <br/><br/>Of the three desserts, the brownie with ice cream was definitely the best. The no bake cheesecake was probably the lighter of the three. They did not have a dessert menu when we were there as they were still hashing out the final menu items so you'll have to ask the waiter for dessert recommendations.<br/><br/>Overall, we were slightly disappointed with the newly renovated restaurant. Most of the menu items were overpriced for average dishes and while the server was attentive, they may have been a little bit too attentive. The waitress cleared our table and food without asking whether we were finished.
