Real nice restaurant. Great menu and hard to chose because it all looks delicious! Real Italian taste and great food. Very friendly owner and staff. I had the lamb with a Chianti red wine......excellent choice!

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Michael ‘s Backdoor Restaurant. We had a private room for us and our guests and the experience was wonderful. The room was intimate and inviting. The food was delicious-everything was fresh and full of flavour. The most important aspect for us was that the restaurant was able to cater to food allergies and they were happy to do so. There were many foods, including 2 desserts, that were free from eggs and nuts. This meant our guest was able to enjoy a wonderful meal, with several choices, just like the rest of us. One of the items our guest requested may have contained nuts so the chef was able to make the same food, with a slight variation, therefore making it safe for this person to eat. This was appreciated more than you know! Anthony and Angela were very friendly and personable. They made sure we had everything we needed and had a nice balance of checking in on us and giving us space to celebrate privately. They even recognized our special day with dessert which was a lovely surprise. We will definitely be back and would recommend Michael’s Backdoor Restaurant to anyone!

This was one of my first choices for Taste of Clarkson event and it was well worth the wait. Once you find the entrance which is a bit tricky, you can tell you are walking into a bit of history. After all it has been around since 1981. The decor could be updated with a new fresh look to brighten things a bit. The server we had was super friendly and we were seated in a lovely sunny area of the restaurant. Appetizer of choice was the organic kale salad with prosecco honey dressing. The kale and grapefruit came together perfectly which made for a beautiful crisp salad with just the right balance of tart and sweet, Next I chose the Pan Seared Brazino with yams and Red Pepper Coulis, the plating was on point and so aesthetically pleasing that I did not want to disturb the presentation. The fish was flavorful and flaked easily and was delicious and as was the coulis and vegetables done to perfection. My friend had STROZZAPRETI BUONGUSTAIO PASTA which was a huge portion that she enjoyed immensely and could not finish. Desert was just as wonderfully presented and the SPUMONI GELATO SICILIANA was out of this world! It was so decadent and the best Gelato I ever had. So were the Cannoli's, the mascarpone cheese was very fresh and there was a hint of lemon in the pastry that was a surprise and great touch to this desert. Overall, the food here is definitely worth the trip and I must say this was a five star dining experience for me. Thank you for making my summer special.
Love this place! Will definitely return! The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was great. Also had the chicken which was the best Marsala I've had in ages. Dessert was delicious too!
Quite but nice food. Take my wife for anniversary, the food was delicious, a little more pricey than Gracia in Toronto
Went to this restaurant with my two kids, my husband and aunt. This was our first visit, my aunt has been many times. Huge generous portions and beautiful presentation. Venison was amazing, as was the pasta dishes and steak. The pea soup was also a hit with all of us. Nice wine selection. Not am inexpensive menu but great value for money and certainly not over priced. Cozy and wonderful service. Only complaint would be availability of a 1/2 size menu for kids.
Dated but good. This place is dated however it's still quite good. If there is anything I do admire about this place is that its been around forever since my highschool days. That's 25 yrs ago and I remember taking dates there when I was younger. If there is one thing this place has maintained it's consistency in its food.
This resturant is so yummy! Everything is cooked fresh and the staff is so friendly and lovely!!! I have been going there for as long as i remember and i live it so much!!!
