Went to Teds last night for the first time. The food is truly outstanding and the atmosphere was very friendly. It was very casual and everyone seemed to know everyone (it was more like visiting with friends than going to a restaurant (even though we had never met any of them before)). My immediate feeling is that ‘this would be what cheers would be like if it was in a rural community.
I had a seafood bake and my wife has Arctic Char. Both were amazing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was having trouble deciding between he seafood and the curry. When I mentioned that, after my seafood was served, the waitress had the chef cook up a sample fo the curry so that I could know for next time (I just don’t know how I could possible get away with ordering both)
They happened to have a live band called ‘Horseshoes and Hand Grenades’ an they were amazing. We planned for a nice casual evening but ended up with a fantastic night out. They played mostly 70s, 80s and 90s rock and it took me back to when I was younger.

Teds is unique and in the middle of the countryside. The food is amazing and the place has quite a story behind it. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Delicious variety of meals on the menu (which are on the walls, also unique) Anything from alligator to kangaroo, to escargo to venison burgers. Delicious everything from scratch eatery. And make sure to check on Jam night every Wednesday.

I Love this place. This is the best there is to offer for fish and chips in Owen Sound. Every night is double fish night. They alternate cod and white fish, for the specials. There is a menu, but you never see anyone using it. Fish is good and consistent. Service is fun and snappy. Prices are great. Now I have seen over the last couple years, portion size going down. Last year it was dinner and tomorrows lunch. Older people were splitting dinners. But when they went to serving in baskets the volume went down. You still get a good size By far If you have family or friends' visiting in the area Ted's Range Road Diner is the place to go. If you find the dinner prices a little high do the breakfast or lunch. This place you have to read the menu to better understand what a cool place it is. Reservations are a must on the weekends. You should also reserve ribs, as they sell off fast.
Do not be afraid of the outside or even the inside looks. It is the food and atmosphere that get the people in. You will see lots of expensive cars and lots of (snowmobiles in winter) in the front lot. There is even room for a helicopter in the back that has been used. My only complaint is no other place I have been makes hash browns as good as his.
Good food but nothing fancy. The building it is in makes for a memorable and unique experience.
Great food great prices. The food at Teds is far above most eateries in the area.. dont let the outside of the building fool you by the look of the place and the interior is not for a romantic get away.... the food is increadable and when busy worth the wait... weather you order the seafood or a Carabou burger your taste buds will be tickled with every bite.. well worth the drive... Sat and Sunday you better make reservations
If there’s any place I’ve been to in Canada that belongs on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives , it’s Ted’s Range Road Diner in Meaford, Ontario. Where, you say? Exactly. Meaford is a tiny town somewhere in between Owen Sound and Collingwood, which is north-west of Toronto. In other words, it’s the last place on earth where you’d expect to find some ultra-delicious food. The first time I rolled up to Ted’s (this was the second time I’ve been there) I couldn’t believe my eyes. The restaurant is in a f@$%ing quonset hut , which is a lightweight building originally used for military purposes that are mostly found in agricultural settings today. Enter the quonset hut – the place bears a resemblance to Merlotte’s diner in True Blood. Straight up country. The staff are possibly the nicest people on earth.
