Menu The Dragonfly Restaurant - Casual Fine Dining
Canadian cuisine varies widely depending on the regions of the nation. The former canadian prime minister joe clark has been paraphrased to have noted: “canada has a cuisine of cuisines. Not a stew pot, but a smorgasbord.”
Canada is known for many things – snow, success at the winter olympics, snow, extreme politeness, snow…but one thing it’s not renowned for is gourmet cuisine. This isn’t really fair – astoundingly multi-cultural, canada’s larger cities boast everything from street-side dim sum to five-star dining. But finding truly local cuisine can be challenging, so here are a few hints on what to eat and drink while you’re in the great white north:
Lunch was awesome. Whiskey Jack burger is one very serious meal. Too big for the biggest appetite at our table. Salads and other sandwiches also got great reviews. The deep fried cheese cake had to be shared 4 ways only because it was huge and after meals we just had to stuff ourselves on. Yes, they offer take out containers, but who could stop??
We will return and we live an hour away.
Thanks to Al and Grant, excellent service on top of great meals.

Quaint little place in a little northern ON town. Any place that serves PEI mussels and plays Stompin Tom is a good place
