Papa Chang's has one of the best popcorn chicken I've ever had and after I knew that they had opened a second location on the top floor of Pacific Mall as an express eatery, I had always kept it in the back of my mind to go visit.
When I arrived at the express eatery, they were just opening for business. It was just before 11 a.m. on a holiday. Luckily for me, the man behind the counter agreed to sell me a serving of their popcorn chicken even though their cashier staff hadn't arrived yet. (I had waited a few minutes already.)
My wife was craving something new and different. In the end, we decided to venture far out to Papa Chang. When we arrived there at lunch time, there was already a long list of people waiting for tables. Lucky, we were able to grab a smaller table quickly. The restaurant space is really small and can probably fix max of 30 people. We had to give the headcount and phone number as people reserved seating. The seating is similar style to cafeteria.

I think the best thing this little place has going for them are their crazy affordable prices. Food quality is average and selection is small. It is also always crowded, and due to the small space, they make you wait outside. I find their food either too oily or underwhelming in flavour. But for their prices and atmosphere, I would return for a third time.
Loved this place. Been there frequently. The price was good. Lots of snacks, fish sticks and popcorn chicken are especially good. Usually order the bento box or the mince meat with rice. Only problem is that the space is very small, there are always long line up. So just order take out when there's a line up.
Recently, I visited Zen Q and tried their popcorn chicken and commented that I still thought Papa Chang’s had the best popcorn chicken I’ve ever tried. I returned back to Papa Chang’s since I was in the mood for some popcorn chicken and really wanted to see if my opinion still held true. The first time I ate at Papa Chang’s was over a year ago in January 2014.
The Skewer Fish (fish skewers) were actually really good! They are covered with Japanese mayonnaise and also wasabi sauce too! The fish fillet was fried but the inside meat was so soft and tender!
Love it!. Cheap and so good!!! My boyfriend is addicted to this place.
Papa Chang’s was first encountered at the Markham Night it Up event, and its stall had a massive lineup for popcorn chicken. Papa Chang’s storefront is hidden in a corner at a strip plaza in Historic Markham, with the main intersections at 16th Ave and Main Street. I do not find a lot of advertisement on the papers for the restaurant, hence, I believe a lot of businesses are made by word of mouth. Location benefits the owners because according to Markham ethnic demographics, at least 80% of the population are Asian. The store is extremely small, with a sitting area of maybe 100-200 square feet, app
I was very excited to find out that the popcorn chicken definitely lives up to the hype and it was thoroughly delicious! The carefully seasoned and breaded chicken bites were boneless and tender. As a lover of all savory foods, this popcorn chicken is definitely a new favourite!
I haven't venture so far east for a while but heard so many good things about this place and I was in search of a good bowl of Taiwanese Beef Noodle for a while.... Papa Chang's do indeed deliver and is now my fave spot for a yummy bowl without the stinky tofu smell that I get at my previous fave (post here ) Taiwanese Style Meatballs $3.49 This bring back so many memories, used to eat that back in high-school at bubble tea places. It's just minced meat wrapped in a sticky glutenous layer which has a chewy texture... just love it. Bon Bon Chicken $4.49 . Signature Beef Noodle Soup $5.99 Not sure if they make their own noodle but love the soup, the beef and even the house made Chinese Pickled Veggies. Love the homey feel of it, the soup wasn't as salty as most places but still packed with flavors. Taiwanese Pancake This was just a sticky globe and neither of us like the texture or the taste Deep Fried Pork Belly $5.99 This was so crispy on the outside and still very moist inside but no
