Great place for Hong Kong Cafe style dishes. This place is usually packed & I don't think they taker reservations. Good thing the kitchen is fast & gets the food out quickly. Basically eat pay & go.
My usual & favourite dish to order is the baked pork chop with tomato sauce on rice. It comes with a hot drink (switch to a cold drink for extra $) and a soup (cream soup or Russian style borsch soup.
This has become my go to place for HK Cafe style food.
The best thing about Hong Kong style cafes is that their all-day breakfasts are always cheap and tastes good. For only $6.50, I was able to get Combo C which came with Bread with Butter, Beef Brisket Rice Noodle in Soup, and Bacon & Scrambled Eggs.
This is just another one of my go-to cafes in the area. New City has very fast service and good food for the price you are paying. I always love what I order (I don't think I've had a bad experience here). Visit if you're looking for a quick lunch / afternoon snack!
After conducting a quick search on the restaurants within close proximity of my physio place (also read as: reading numerous reviews on), it was decided that we would try out New City Restaurant for lunch. Many yelp users had had mixed feelings about the atmosphere and food, but two common points present in their reviews were that the servers were always friendly and that meals were considerably budget-friendly.
New City Restaurant has been a really popular restaurant in the neighbourhood for cheap, tasty and fast Hong Kong Cafe Style fast food.
The restaurant always packed and the tables are so closely placed together and it is often as a lone diner, I ended up having to share tables with ohers.
Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner set.
Milk tea always well made. Smooth and strong.
Cash only and of course I will be back!
Regular visits!. My favorite afternoon-tea place. Been coming here for 15 years now, never complained about the food.
One of our favorite comfort food places. I can never go wrong with the baked dishes. pork in cream sauce over fried rice is my fav and satay beef macaroni in broth is one of Jasper's goto dishes. you get a lot for the cost and haven't found a dish i haven't liked yet

My experiences at New City Restaurant are always tasty, filling and cheap! It’s definitely safe to come to New City because they are always consistent with their quality and portions. Always looking forward to my next visits.
I've practically have had everything (everything that I would actually eat) on the menu and I don't think I've ever been disappointed. The portions are huge and the prices are good; I usually can't finish a meal by myself so I'm set for the next day's lunch. I would definitely recommend the Hong Kong style french toast which is totally different from the normal french toast that might come to mind. They take two extra thick slices of bread, smear some peanut butter in the middle, dip it in egg, fry it and it's served with a giant slice of butter and syrup; heaven. Don't want something sweet? What I like most about the chicken is the excellent taste and texture, but at the same time it is always properly cooked.
Located in Peachtree Plaza at Highway 7 and Kennedy, the parking situation can be a bit of a nightmare. But if you can find a spot, this HK-style café is well worth a visit.
Basically, the menu has a vareity of baked pasta or rice, with an option for a variety of meat (chicken, ham, beef, pork, seafood etc) and sauce (tomato, cream, cheese, portugese, bolognese, etc). These prices also includes a soup and a drink (cold drinks are $0.75 extra and take out is $0.50 extra)
