Get there early and often. All dim sum are $3.68/CAD except specialty items before 11am (verify for yourself though)
I think this is probably the best dim sum I have ever had. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and now live a couple hours east of Chicago. SkyView is worth the seven hour drive for me and I will be back.
Came here for dimsum with my family and enjoyed their food. They have different dimsum items that I’ve never seen before like deep fried taro with a quail egg in the middle. Good place for dimsum.
Deceptively large inside. The food was alright. Some dishes much better than others. Their barbeque pork (cha-siu) is really good. I highly recommend it. The menu is rather large, like many other Chinese restaurants and the prices are much higher then other places. Service was "ok". One of the waitresses was unpleasant and didn't seem to want to be there, major attitude. Other staff seemed fine though.
Aside from having a nice looking interior & nice presentation of the dishes I don't think it was worth the time or money. If I come back, it will only be to order takeout of their BBQ pork.
I came here on an early morning 9:30am for dim sum with the relatives. Turned out that they knew some friends that were already there so we just joined them. The decor is very nice for a dim sum restaurant, their attention to detail shows up in the quality of their tea. You order through filling out a menu sheet. There will not be any dim sum carts here. We had their BBQ Pork Rice Roll, Spring Rolls, Turnip Cake, Shrimp Dumpling, and Preserved Egg Congee. They were all very good, portions as well as the taste. My favorite was their Portuguese Chicken pie which was crispy on the outside but very savory and moist on the inside. For about six people the bill came to about $10/person. They have a giant sized projection screen on one end of their restaurant. Perfect for wedding banquets to display photos, World Cup Soccer, and the Super Bowl?
Ordered the set dinner for six, which included: deep fried spring rolls, wonton soup, stir-fried seafood with broccoli, stir-fried beef, sweet & sour pork, crispy chicken, BBQ pork, fried rice, and dessert. Out of all the dishes, the BBQ pork really stood out. Waaaay better than the kind you'd get at your usual Chinese take-out place. I'm talking about fresh, juicy, pork- the kind that chopsticks go to war for.
The stir-fried seafood with crown broccoli was also pretty good. Same goes for the dessert, which weren't fortune cookies despite what may have been written on the menu. Instead, they served us gelatinous sesame and red bean cubes (Chinese jello essentially), something I've never seen before and was pleasantly surprised by.
Overall, I was impressed with Skyview's attention to detail. They seem to go the extra mile when it comes to presentation and ensuring good quality food. The portions were quite generous too!
I went here for dinner with my family to try their BBQ dishes. While it was more expensive than we're used to, the food was quite good. The service is friendly and efficient, which is a nice change from other Chinese restaurants. The restaurant was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere.
So happy. I was there with my cousin for dim sum couple of weeks ago, and was surprised by how happy and friendly all the staff were, it's a very nice change compare to some other chinese restaurants, food was good as well. We were there for couple of hours and didn't feel rush.
I noticed this restaurant across the parking lot from a Costco that I went to and decided to go with my mom. When we walked in, dinner service just started and we thought we intruded on a wedding because the inside was so ornately decorated. We got the Pineapple and Ginger Chicken ($15.99) which I didn’t like very much because each ginger slice was so thickly cut, I mistakenly ate some thinking it was pineapple.
My favourite dish of the night was the lightly battered shrimp morsels. I liked how each one was encrusted with batter that was made of salted duck egg. It was so tasty!
Didn't even know there was a Chinese restaurant in this area, this was my first time here. We start with a soup, that isn't the regular Chinese soup. It was apple flavoured! And it was good! Really good! We tried the Peking Duck here and it comes with all the standard garnishes. They extra little touch that I loved here was the embedded garlic in the wraps. What a great idea!

We got the Pineapple and Ginger Chicken ($15.99) which I didn’t like very much because each ginger slice was so thickly cut, I mistakenly ate some thinking it was pineapple. My mom thought this dish was quite overpriced but crudely made given that the ginger taste was too overbearing. We also ordered the Beef and Rice Noodles ($15.99) which was disappointing as well. This dish was so salty on account of it having so much black pepper and it was glistening with oil. The beef was cooked well and was tender. Though the dinner options at this restaurant were expensive, the quantity was quite large. The bowl that the beef noodles came in was as big as a fruit bowl.Although I might not come here again for dinner, I came here again to try the dim sum. The dim sum costs $2.80 for small, and increases by $1 as you go up a size, up to XL. We were a group of 7 and our mistake was not making a reservation on a Sunday morning. There was a lineup for 30-40 minutes because the place was packed.During the waiting time, we picked up the ordering sheet and already decided on what to order before we got in.Everything was pretty standard for what you would order for dim sum. Of note is the congee, which was larger than other places I’ve been to and the Apple pie tarts, which I would define as true ‘fusion’ food. These tarts had a crispy exterior like a pineapple bun but the inside had a sweet and savoury filling of shrimp, apple chunks, and this mayo-based paste. The food came pretty quickly, at our second round of delivery, I would highly recommend the Pan Fried Lotus Seed Paste & Green Tea Cake (M) which was absolutely delicious and something I’ve never tried at a dim sum place before. The outside glutinous rice pouch is crispy and not too oily and the inside lotus paste had a fragrant green tea flavour to it. I would definitely order this again.
Since this place is incessantly busy, the downside is that sometimes your order might be incorrect as they gave us only one plate of turnip cakes when we ordered 2 and they forgot one of our orders.
Overall, I would just come here to treat my relatives to dim sum next time. The decor is extravagant, the tables are crowded together and loud, and all staff are busy – just the way my traditional aunts and uncles like it!
