Review Dum Pukht - Markham

It was a wonderful experience as I went with my friends and family. Very good ambiance and nice environment. Great staff and always takes care of your orders. Overall, Very pleasant experience. And for food I'm speechless. It was really mouth watering and the taste was mind blowing. Definately I will go again to try more dishes.

Went here today for lunch with a group of six co workers. Much enjoyed the food here, we had a variety of items, chilli chicken dry and wet, the signature biryani, the noodles, and a few other chicken dishes. Great spice and flavouring, very unique and delicious food here in Markham, Ontario. Would visit again!

Went here really looking forward to the ambiance however we were really disappointed with the cleanliness of the space. We went for Friday lunch and there was only one group at the restaurant other than us. Server told us we can choose to sit wherever we’d like but that wasn’t an easy experience. All the booths had some of debris looking like it’s never had a vacuuming done or they had odd white stains everywhere. The chairs were the same, some had full on dried curry stuck to the seats. In a COVID world, this felt unacceptable. We tried our best to find chairs that were fairly clean but we felt quite uncomfortable with that initial experience already. Service was great, our waiter was very attentive and was very honest about the portions. He also kept asking if everything was good and okay. Food came quickly but was okay and quite overpriced given the place isn’t maintained well. We ordered the Dum Phukt Lamb Biryani, Garlic Naan and the Butter Chicken. We felt something was missing in the flavour. Dishes were very colourful but the flavour wasn’t matching the visuals. Overall I wouldn’t ever be returning back given the lack of attention the restaurant places on cleanliness.

The food tastes great. We ordered panner sabji, biryani, naan and chicken. Everything so good taste wise. And i am deducting one star because of cleanliness. The place seems less clean as compared to other restaurant standards.

The food is good but I like the ambiance more. The place is great to chill and to have dinner or lunch and the seating arrangements is cool with nice lights and bar is cool .

Loved the food, ambiance and top class service. Bread basket was our favourite - so fresh and flaky. I found gravies average. Would come back to try more.

I was so impressed by the ambiance, service and food at Dum Pukht! The restaurant looks and feels so modern and the food is incredible. The butter chicken, butter/garlic naans, and the Dum Pukht biryani were the best I think I've tasted so far! I would highly recommend trying this place out if you're looking for a delicious Indian restaurant.

Delicious Food Great Ambiance It was our first time and loved it. We will definitely go again. Server Chinmay ( if I am not spelling wrong ) he went above and beyond. He made us more comfortable with his friendly nature and very welcoming.

Great to go for lunch as table buffet let's you try the menu of the day and at a great price. Ambience is great and staff was very welcoming and food was served efficiently and fast. Highly recommend a visit.

We were recommended by our friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.The waiter was very helpful and made some really good recommendations. We were pleasantly surprised by the different flavors and the way they presented the meals. The onion naans were delicious. You can smell the aroma of the strong spices but if you like tasty spicy gourmet finger licking good food this is your spot :)))

I came here with my fiancé too celebrate our engagement and waited at nearly an hour for our appetizers alone on top of that when the food came it was cold the too make it worse waiter was beyond rude and I will never be going here again. Customer service was completely awful! If I could rate this a 0 I would!

This is one of the best Indian restaurant. Food was very testy and delicious. Interior decor is excellent. Setting arrangement is very comfortable. All serving staff is highly corticious and very responsive. Owners personally come to the table and ask about quality of food and services. Though it is very far from my residence but I will definitely visit again. I recommend people who are fond of authentic Indian food......

We friends had a get together at the restaurant. I was very pleased with the ambience in the first instance. Being from India, I'm very skeptical of eating Indian food abroad. However, the amritsari fish and the kebab platter we had ordered were authentic. The dum pukht chicken in tomato curry was amazing and strangely not hot, to the likes of many westerns. Surely a place to revisit.

Had a Kitty of over 30 peoples and enjoyed delicious food, amazing service and wonderful evening. Thanks to staff for making our evening f a n t a s t i c. Surely, recommend to all.

I will recommend Dum Pukht for its delicious food and a superb cosy banquet hall. Thank you to the wonderful staff and the service extended to us. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Will surely visit again!

This place checks every box, the food was amazing, the service was spectacular, and the place looks beautiful. The price was really reasonable too, about $15 a person. Check It out.

The Food is always amazing here. They were able to accommodate a huge birthday party and also offered the option for a preset menu which made things easier. Had good communication throughout the process with the organizers and everything was great.

Brillant atmosphere. Loved the food and the fact that it's a lunch buffet but they have a pre set menu and they serve you at your table.

This place is absolutely terrible. Clearly don't know the meaning of customer service. Waited 45 min for food and the waiter had the nerve to tell me to "talk to the chef" if I had a complaint. Will not be going back to this place.

Overall very good experience and I enjoyed their a lot. Good food🍱 quality and quantity. Even varity of dishes. I went there on my birthday . They gave me small birthday cake with candle and staff were sang a song for me . Which make me very special😊and ambiance was very lovely .. I would highly recommend this place👍🏻

The staff is not well informed about the menu. I asked the server if I could order buffet as take out and she told me they just started it on that day. So I ordered it for one person and ended up getting only 3 dishes out of 8. I called them back when I saw it and the manager says there was miscommunication between me and the server (there was absolutely no miscommunication she gave me wrong information!) I felt totally ripped off, never going back there for sure.<br/>The 3 dishes that I got weren't great either.

Very good restaurant , friendly staff and amazing food and ambience. Really loved everything . All the food which was ordered was nice and portion size is good . Not very pricey and you get worth of what you pay . <br/><br/>Recommended to all !

Decent food...but the service was very slow as they seemed to be short staffed for saturday evening. We had to constantly ask for whatever we needed. Some of our order was forgotten n never reached our table until we asked abt it. We were made to wait for 20 mins for desserts of gulab jamun and kulfi as one of other dessert we had ordered was not availabe..and then after saying its ok n replacing our order..we received our new order along with something which we were informed is not availble 5 mins bck...clearly a sign of mismanagement n miscommunication..Go here for their food but with zero expectations about service<br/>

Neat interiors friendly staff. However, we ordered the kali dal a traditional dish which is traditional when freshly made, but it was stale and had a horrid fermented flavour to it. when requested, they changed the dish but even charged us for the replacement biryani. Even later, the bill was incorrect and that was rectified when informed. But we were charged for rotten food which was a put off! We took one hour to get to this place from downtown and then they serve us this sort of food which made me wonder if the food served in the restaurant is fresh. Most restaurants wouldnt have charged us to replace a dish as a mark of customer service. I wouldn't recommend nor go there again.

After reading yelp reviews tried this place.Ambience was good.Tried Vegetable Biryani Dum Pukht and Dahi vada.Veg Biryani with Paneer was good came in unique Dum Pukht.Will recommend this place

My colleague and I decided last minute to try an Indian restaurant in the neighborhood. We  normally visited Bombay Bhel but we decided to try something different in the hood. Dum Pukht it was! We booked a table for 4 at the beginning of the week. We arrived at the restaurant a little early. After waiting at the entrance for some time, we went to find a host. <br/><br/>There were several open tables, but we were told that they were for a party of 20. We were seated at the bar to wait. <br/><br/>After 40 minutes of waiting, we decided to leave. The tables were still open. <br/><br/>This shows a complete lack of respect for our time and their commitment to their own reservation process. <br/><br/>Their actions show that their priority is the potential sales for the night and not customer service.
