Best sushi in town. The owner is also there every single day making sure everything is clean and the food is presented beautifully. Found this restaurant when it just opened and have been going there ever since.

While browsing through the various menus of sushi restaurants in Maple Ridge, I came across Sushi Tengu's eclectic mix of special rolls. One that particularly caught my attention was the 4 in 1 Roll, which featured half orders of four of their special rolls. When I saw that roll on the menu, I had two thoughts.

FRESH QUALITY SUSHI ARTFULLY PRESENTED. This is the best sushi my husband and I have eaten in a very long time. We had to thank the Chef before we left it was that good.
We are new to the area. We have eaten at pretty much every Sushi place in the area. We think we find a good spot and we return only to be completely disappointed. It was my birthday and I was determined to try one more Sushi place, I had driven by it a few times.
First impressions were that the restaurant itself was very clean and the decor modern, much nicer than we expected and certainly nicer than others in the area. The Service was fast and the servers friendly and polite. What impressed us the most was the presentation of the food, it was beautifully plated and the quality and freshness of the fish matched the plating. The tempura was crisp and the prawn, literally melted in my mouth. The tuna and salmon sashimi were served ice cold. We had the Tuna Tataki as well and were pleased to find that it was just how we love it. In addition we had a roll combo that we enjoyed as well. A little cold sake and some tea....We can't wait to go back and try more menu items.
To me sushi is delicate and beautiful and when presented artfully it shows great respect for the ingredients. it also elevates the pleasure of eating it even more. This is now our favorite japanese restaurant. On the way out when our server found out it was my birthday she said, wait, I have a gift for you and she presented me with a pretty japanese Strawberry pop, apparently the top explodes when you open it. Fun! Check this place out.
Not Just Another Sushi Place. They're one of the newer sushi places in town but Sushi Tengu offers arguably the best Japanese food in Maple Ridge. Interior decor is modern and clean, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. Their special rolls exemplify some creativity with their sushi, but it doesn't stop there. The udon is fantastic and teriyaki combo is great as well. They even offer bottomless miso soup with some combos, which is a definite plus for a miso soup lover like myself. Service seems a bit awkward at times but they are polite and friendly. Definitely one of, if not the best Japanese restaurants in town.

This place is Great! I go with my family at least once a week and have not been disappointed! Their Crazy Girl Roll is Awesome and they did a pretty good job with the place, it has a nice atmosphere & the staff is very friendly! Don't forget to try one if their special Japanese Sodas, they're quite something!

Good food, good service. I went here with a friend on Thursday Sept 26th. I ordered an Ocean dynamite roll, California roll and miso soup. My friend ordered the LA Galbi combo. The miso soup was good. The california roll was good, not overstuffed with fake crab and had the right amount of avocado and cucumber and it was topped with black and white sesame seeds. The Ocean dynamite roll is a dynamite roll with tamago, cucumber, tobiko, ebi and avocado on top. I am happy that it didn't have fake crab. My friend's dinner was Korean BBQ rib teriyaki,veggie sunomono, california roll, tempura and a small udon noodle soup. My friend said that everything he ordered was good. The service was very good, they made sure that we had a good dining experience. The only negative comments we had was the tea although it wasn't bad it was very bland. The water they serve should go through a reverse osmosis filter because it had that strong city water chlorine taste. My dinner came to $12 after tax, my friends dinner was just under $14 after tax. We both agreed that we will go back again. So far this is the best Sushi restaurant we have tried in Maple Ridge.
Just ordered takeout the other day for my first time from here. The decor is very nice and the staff was very friendly. The food was amazing. Tasted so fresh compared to other sushi places in town. Will definitely be returning. Very pleased.
Fabulous Food. There are about 6 sushi restaurants in very close proximity to this one, but Sushi Tengu is the best Japanese restaurant in the city hands down. The food is fresh and modern and every dish has a wonderful presentation. The chef sends out complimentary items while you wait and they are always delicious. Problem is, they aren't on the menu, so you can't get them again, they're just the chefs whim! They have a lovely, clean, modern restaurant and are family friendly. Their prices are very reasonable, and my family loves dining there. As a matter of fact, we're going tonight for a birthday supper!
