Review Campus Hi-fi Restaurant - London

We ordered the breakfast plate with two eggs and the bacon cheeseburger, loved how they accommodated egg whites for my breakfast plate, make sure to ask for dill pickles instead of the sweet pickle for your hamburger. Service was great, paid parking in the back of the building.

It wasn’t busy on a Tuesday midday. Super fast service. Delicious food. I have the California Eggs Benny. Craving it again!!! Breakfast poutine is also delicious

Went for brunch with a small group, only 4 persons and it was amazing. There were only 2 or 3 servers but we got service really promptly. Our server was so friendly too, amazing service. Let's talk about the food. OMG, the portion size is out of their world. I got 'For the Hungry' and the leftovers served me for another day of breakfast. It tasted delicious too. Free refill on coffee is also great.

Introducing another perfect Brunch place located right in downtown London, ON! ✨I have been wanting to try this for the 4 years of my undergrad! Their menu items are all at very reasonable prices, like egg bennies breakfast is around 13.25! 🫣Their interior also very comfortable and home-y. This time, I got.. 🌯Club wrap 🌯 I have this recent craving of sandwiches and wrap so I got a chicken wrap 🤪(My fav type of protein!) It was so yummy as the combination of mayo sauce, chicken and bacon goes so well together! 🤓The lettuce and tomato also add a bit of freshness and cruchiness to the wrap! Totally should try this! 🍟Home fries 🍟 They also serve French fries or home fries with the wrap! The difference between French fries and home fries is that frech fries are deep fried while home fries are seasoned and grilled! 🤍I got the home fries this time, it was perfect! It was so soft and perfectly seasoned, not so salty! 😁As I am writing this, I am craving for it! ✨ ☕️Coffee ☕️ A brunch with coffee is the best! I got their coffee this time, they allow refills as well! 🤪I saw that there was a type of coffee that they serve is pretty special, it is called Greek Iced Frappe Coffee! I didn’t get to try it this time, but will do one day!🥰 🍓Fruit salad 🍓 They also serve a lot of different types of sides like pancakes, bacon strips and fruit salad! They have two sizes of fruit salad, small and large! It is full of tropical fruits: pineapples, grapes, watermelon..etc.!😆 I love this place and will definitely come back for more home fries and other food!!✨ Thank you for the great hospitality and yummy food 💗

Great place historic diner from 1956. Only wish they had retained original vibe inside. It's clean and modern but very cute. Breakfast was served hot and fast. Bacon was great and eggs perfect.

I gotta tell you, my daughter and I had the most delicious homemade hamburger there. Really big portions and heavenly eggs Benedict poutine! Wow, best meal I have had in a long time at a restaurant! Highly recommend……

First time trying this breakfast place and it did not disappoint. To my surprise, this place was quite busy on a Monday morning... I ordered the vegetarian skillet and it was so yummy! Reasonable pricing and great service. Will definitely come back

One of my favorite restaurants on town. Is my Sunday place to go, food is amazing, prices are affordable and the service is incredible, it’s a very familiar environment. I’ve tried almost the whole menu, I order something different every time I go (a lot) and i’ve never regret of what I ordered. This is a 10 out of 10 definitely worth it, try the peanut butter chocolate milkshake and thank me later

We went here today for breakfast and ordered pancakes and english breakfast it was so delicious. Totally loved it. Our server was also so nice. Had a great experience today.

Great food. Can be very busy, but the staff are working hard to get people fed. Prices have gone up over the years, but the quality of food is excellent.

Need to run some errands nearby so we came in for lunch on a Friday afternoon and it is not busy at all. My breakfast poutine was hot and tasty, the portion was so big I have to take some home. Hubby’s 2 eggs breakfast is just what it is supposed to be, can’t be wrong at this London stable 😊

Great Food and Portions, Awesome Diner Aesthetic, Excellent Service and Friendly Staff

This is one of my favourite places I had breakfast at as a student in the 90s. While the decor has changed, the quality of food and vibe has not. I will definitely make it a point to stop by and have breakfast at Campus Hi-Fi next time I am in town.

Great food and very affordable spot. I would definitely come again

Best food ever. Huge fresh portions. Server was so friendly with such a traditional feel like I was back in 1994 going to UWO.

Very welcomed and cozy place to have amazing breakfast Thank you for the wonderful lady who had recognized and respect our religious background and informed us that the plate we ordered contains pork and she offered to replace it with something else Absolutely we will be back Thank you so much!

First time here and we will definitely be back! The menu was amazing, and the food was even better. The portion size was insane for the price of the meal! Hands down one of London's hidden gems!

Always a good experience getting food from here, be it in person or ordering takeaway. Service is great, the food is fantastic, and you can't beat the prices. My favourite breakfast spot
The Hungry Nomads
The best breakfast diner in London!
It actually took us many months to move our butts and set foot in this place, and the whopping reviews shouting out for this place weren't exaggerating it. We were completely blown away by the sheer simplicity and the delicious food they serve and the way they do it. If you are having a lazy sunday, this is the place to be in.
We ordered
Eggs Benny with Veggies: Hit the bullseye! Just loved it. The home fries were fantabulous. 5/5
French Toast: Couldn't get enough of it. 5/5
Pancakes: Surprisingly huge, soft and delicious. You could have them as is, or with butter or with a spread of jams available on the table. Tried almost all of them and the pancakes went good with everything. 5/5
Coffee was freshly brewed. Couldn't ask for better.
Special shout out to Ariti who waited on our table. She was delightful and made our day better.
Even though my days in London are numbered, I will definitely return to this gem of a place.

Small diner, nothing fancy. Had Shawn's poutine - delicious! Hollandaise, potatoes, cheese, gravy - mouthwatering combination. My partner who had a traditional breakfast said it was better than a chain restaurant's. When in London, this is my spot!

We had the worst experience here due to the awful staff! The service was absolutely terrible and staff were yelling and complaining about each other and customers. I have never been to a workplace that was so unprofessional and I will never return. People working in the service industry need to be friendly otherwise it can ruin someone’s entire experience and whole day!
Fine Diner
This place has been around since 1957 and I have only just now visited for a meal. Small unassuming place with retro seating and music.Best to go when students are away as it is very crowded otherwise and even has lineups to get in on the weekends. Sunday early morning best time to go as parking is free.
Waitress was friendly and efficient and almost huggable. I had the standard breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, and home fries while partner had the same substituting gyros for bacon. Home fries were truly hand made while rest of meal was hot and well prepared,
Price was right, meals efficient, and the coffee deliciously fresh. Would not hesitate returning.

This is a place you want to go for a big filling greasy breakfast. I had a skillet combo here and left feeling crazy full but satisfied. This place is definitely a little whole in the wall, but the burgers...oh the burgers. I had the best Greek burger I have ever had at this place, and I have been dying to come back.

Stopped by here today for breakfast myself. Waitress indicated that I could just sit down anywhere I want. Ordered their omelette which came with fries and toast. Man... It was good, portion was huge, and price is cheap. Would definitely want to come back if I'm ever in London ON again.
Alisha Ding
The prices here are great, and the quality of the food actually isn't bad! The pancakes are quite good and the homefries aren't sitting in a pool of grease which is nice. However, the service is TERRIBLE. I don't know if it's just this one particular server but she was quite rude and very snappy, although I suppose she could have just been having a bad day. This is a great place to hit up for a hangover breakfast or if you're craving cheap breakfast food late in the day. I wasn't impressed with their lunch items like their sandwiches or burger but I think the campus combo is the best bang for your buck!
M
It can be packed, especially on the weekends, because it's close to the school but it's also such a good little diner. I always leave really happy with my meal and the service quality. Friendly atmosphere with the staff and good, relatively cheap breakfast.

Not sure why I tried to come here again for breakfast. I've probably been here a total of 4 times and every time has been a bad experience server wise. The older ladies are rude and for how busy the restaurant is they should know to staff at least two so that they can maintain friendly service instead of looking and acting miserable. We waited 25 minutes for our order to even be taken and then forever for the food to be served all while the waitress tended to others who came in after us because she couldn't keep track. Overall, bad experience won't come back after today.
Jenna Smitherson
I've been here before and students working there served me and my friends well. However, my last experience was terrible.

The old lady who served me seemed like she was scowling the entire time... then she asked me in a rude tone if I was going home (for takeout) to decide whether or not to give me a plastic fork and knife. I told her I was going home, but I would've liked the utensils (so I wouldn't have to wash anything, plus I didn't think it was a big deal). Then she said, "But you're going home?" really rudely. I was lost for words...

Um. Is your restaurant so cheap that you can't afford to always give PLASTIC utensils? The food also didn't include any fruit, which usually should be included.

I like the food, it's decent (good but not great), but if the service is horrible, not sure if I'm going back.

Appalled by the situation.. I am not here to rate the food because I never had a chance to eat my meal.

I attended this restaurant around noon on a Tuesday. Place had a few student costumers when we walked in. I was with my wife and 4 year old daughter. Right from the get go, the rude waitress screams across the restaurant for us not to bring our beverage in (4oz milk for my daughter). I understand that this could be a problem for a restaurant establishment, so I apologized and threw milk away (outside). We asked to be seated and the lady rudely pointed at an open spot. My wife whispered to me to leave because it felt awkward with everyone whispering and staring. I decided to stay as I didn't want to cause another scene.

The lady approached us to take our order and I ordered traditional and coffee, and my wife ordered a burger and a salad, I also ordered a milk for my daughter. She then asked what I was ordering for my 4 year old and I told her she will just take a few bites out of our dishes. She then loudly said to us that it's restaurant policy that meals cannot be shared. I was appalled by this because I didn't understand the fact that we had 3 at a table and order 3 dishes and still had to order something else for my daughter. I gave her and attitude and said this is horrible service, but it's not going to make me walk out of here. I then told her to just put any meal in front of my daughter and I'll pay for it. It's now turned into the fact I had to prove a point, then to enjoy a meal with my family. After a few minutes she came back to me and told me after talking to the chef it's okay that we didn't have to order a meal for my daughter. I then told her to please stop making a scene and bring the meals that I've ordered.

When the dishes finally made it to our table I asked for the bill immediately! The lady had the audacity to ask me if everything was okay. I told her no and get me my bill. Without even touching the food I put down $35.14 for my bill and gave it to her, I then pulled a $10.00 bill out and gave it to her as an indication for a tip. She felt guilty knowing the service provided was bad and she apologized, I told her the only thing I was looking forward today was to have nice meal with my family and it wasn't going to happen here.
Tina
Good and cheap breakfast. I enjoyed my protein omelette here- made with egg whites for a health kick. Huge portions, very filling although a bit greasy. I thought their service was actually quite good, the ladies were very friendly with us and refilled our coffee frequently.
Ryanbenwow
This place should be called the grumpy grandmas diner. Everytime i've been I feel like calling the cops on them.

RUDE SERVICE, WILL NOT BE RETURNING. The waitress at this restaurant clearly shows her disdain for you right from the start. Her attitude and abhorrently rude service made the entire meal an uncomfortable experience for our group, despite the food/prices being on point.

Excellent Food and Price. This location doesn't look like much from the outside but I have to say this was a great establishment. I stopped in for breakfast on a Thursday morning, I had the last booth at the back. It was perfect for me to rate the small restaurant. The restaurant was full with mostly university students. I ordered their traditional breakfast with Canadian back bacon. The food was excellent, homemade home fries like what your mother would make at home on the stove. The food temperature was perfect, the service was good and automatic refills. I would definitely recommend this place.
Foodnow
Terrible coffee. Average food. Racist server.

Good food, bad service.. One of the servers clearly didn't like us from the get go. She makes zero eye contact when talking to us, did not pay attention to us when giving us our orders then slams our drinks in front of us... I don't understand what we did wrong for her to treat customers like that. The food was not bad. I'd like to comeback for the great prices but, that customer service experience is holding me back.
Mike
In all honesty, from all the good reviews I read, and from people telling me that this restaurant was amazing, I was surprised that we had an awful experience.

To start off with the worst part, it was the waitress. When we were seated, she got us our drinks and we looked at the menus, and ordered. All is well. It was when we got our food that the service went up in flames. My girlfriend ordered a chicken burger, while I got the breakfast. My girlfriends chicken burger came missing some things that she ordered with it. We tried to flag down our waitress for 10 minutes. The worst part is, she made direct eye contact with her, and yet she didn't come see us. It got to the point where she had to go take her plate up to the counter to get what she wanted.
Passing that moment, not once did the waitress ask us how our food was, or if we needed anything, meanwhile she was doing so with her other tables. Completely rude and unacceptable. She only came to us when we asked for our bill, and even then, it didn't end there.

Remember when I said my girlfriend ordered the chicken burger and I ordered the breakfast? Well, her chicken burger came with a couple missing things. Honest mistake, maybe. But she took a bite of her burger and found it too greasy, to the point where it didn't taste like a chicken burger. She made a comment that she'd rather go to McDonalds.
As for my plate, it was decent. Eggs were great, toast was okay, sausage I found quite greasy, and the bacon was probably the worst part. It was like biting into some kind of rubber. There was a few quirks to my breakfast, but safe to say it was better than my girlfriends experience.

Conclusion, I won't be going back. It's not necessarily about the food, but about the service. Bad food is one thing, but that's not what keeps me from going back. It's almost like the employees are there just to work and get it over with, rather than keeping customers happy. Bad day or not, I don't know, but all of this is enough for me to never go back.

They wouldn't seat me. As per usual it was busy on Saturday morning. There was my self and three couples in line. There were two empty booths, but we were all informed booths were for three or more and all 4 parties were to wait for a table. I left and don't intend to go back any time soon
Sarah
True the eggs Benny was fantastic but the service was horrendous. Treated like we were an inconvenience and our plates were practically thrown at us. Not worth the $40 we paid. Won't be back.
Melissa
Some of you need to relaxxxxx. Those of you who have complained about having a "rude server", keep in mind that there is often only 1 server and always only 1 cook working for the whole diner, and it sporadically gets busy. On numerous visits, my sister and I arrive and are the only customers, and then within a few minutes four other groups show up. Cut them some slack for not serving you 5 or 10 minutes faster than you'd like. Love this place - I'm a regular, and I'm never disappointed with the service or food. :)

Fave item on the menu? Eggs benny with back bacon! Best eggs benny in town. I'm a breaky connoisseur, and this place by far trumps all others (in London, anyways) for eggs benny.
Meaghan
The service and food is terrible. I went there for breakfast and ordered the spinach scrambled eggs. The eggs were burnt, the potatoes weren't cooked. I had one bite of each and when she asked how it was I explained it to her. Then asked if she would just take it off the bill, because I didn't want anything else and I was told, "you ordered it, you pay for it." And then she walked away.
I have been in the restaurant industry for over 5 years now and I am just appalled by this. I will never return to this place, and I don't recommend it to anyone.

Confused?. I'm confused because it seems as if everyone except my friends have had exceptional experiences here which is why I wanted to post to give an honest post about my bad experience. But hear me out, the food was delicious and not nearly as greasy as most breakfast joints. The atmosphere and seating was great. But one waitress ruined my (and my friends') eating experience for sure. I'm sure everyone has a bad day so I was willing to give cut her some slack. It happens. To give a context, we are three Asian males in University and all from Toronto. We had just finished shopping at Urban Outfitters and wanted to grab a bite so we walked in and were promptly seated. No problem. She sat us near the windows but it was blistering cold today so we simply slid over one table next to us (in a what was a virtually empty diner). She was none too pleased and lectured us asking us in a very demeaning tone "was that seat not good enough? could you at least move your jackets for other customers?" It wasn't what was said, because in fact she was quite valid (we forgot our jackets), but it said very rudely. She then served other tables who just arrived and cleaned up after paying customers and shook us off multiple times. We thought we should still give her a benefit of the doubt, who knows what a person could be going through or again, maybe just a bad day. She came and disallowed us to order from the breakfast special because it was 11:02 not before 11 (had she come serve us when she should have, it probably would have been closer to 10:50-10:55), so we thought that was a bit unfair but we didn't ask twice and just agreed to order at regular price. Through out the meal it was good food and good talking but she needed to be asked kindly 3 times to refill the coffee even though it wasn't busy in the restaurant at all. What finally ticked us off was the fact that I simply raised my hand to get her attention and made out a motion like a pen to get the bill. She sternly said, "I don't know what culture you come from, but we don't do that here, you're supposed to wait for me and I will bring you the bill when it's ready, don't flag me down like that." I was appalled and we could only muster a few awkward laughs.

So again, it clearly seems like the norm is that people have fantastic experiences here, and I don't want to defame a good place, and trust me, the three of us guys are by no means rude patrons and we certainly never feel entitled to anything. But even at the bare minimum level of service expectations, this waitress was unacceptable. She was an older lady with a heavy accent. Has anyone else had this experience? I will give her credit though, she is very thorough in her clean up and doesn't skip steps and went out of her way to help a patron with visual disabilities. But I was just shocked at the disparity of service for our table.
Matt
Best Breakfast in London. I am a breakfast connoisseur, having tried most breakfast places in London. Campus Hi-Fi is by far the best, and as a result has left me disappointed whenever I go elsewhere.
Prices are great, service is amazing, food is better.
I can see how some people would be unhappy with it, it gets so busy service sometimes suffers. and you really need to know your way around to pay and get out easily.
It is constantly rammed by students, so to get the best breakfast either go early (8am) or when students are out of town (christmas, summer).
AshleyAnne
Not sure why everyone likes this place so much? Three times I have gone with different friends, we are late 20s and we were treated like punk kids. It takes FOREVER for the very angry waitress to take your order, forever to get it too. Home fries were like three chunks of potato and my eggs were so oily they were bubbling. Trying to pay and get out is a whole other nightmare. I refuse to go back here. There is nothing to back up this places reputation...
Amy
Best place to eat in downtown London!. Amazing staff, great prices and huge portions. Many, many options to suit whatever you are in the mood for.
Lockhart
You can't beat friendly staff, good food, large portions, and cheap prices. Bonus points: it's liscenced and open until 10 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Artephile
Best (student) breakfast. Compared to Christina's Pub, a mainstay of UWO students with terrible pancakes, Campus Hi-Fi breakfast is amazing and quite affordable. Service between the two, however, is about the same.
Steph McKenzie
By far the best breakfast in London. Great menu. Great staff. Portions are a good size and well priced. Quality of the food preparation is always exceptional! Our favourite place for breakfast and lunch!!!

Student Breakfast. I wouldn't say BEST breakfast.... I meant it's breakfast, how different can it be place to place? But the staff is always friendly and gives us a smile, and the place is usually packed so they must be doing something right.
Tracy G
Best Breakfast. Campus Hi-Fi has the best breakfast menu in London hands down and their prices are very reasonable. Be sure to get there early on the weekend as it's always packed. Everything on the menu is good but I would definitely recommend the Ukrainian Breakfast (it comes with perogies)
Urban Aficianado
Best corn beef hash, they use Montreal smoked meat. It is a heaping amount, and pretty reasonably priced as well. Amazing place.
