Great selection of food for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. Decent beer lineup on tap and liquor selection. Prices are very reasonable.
Service is very friendly and attentive. Been a few times now and certainly intend to come back.
Apparently there is live music among other events on pretty frequently based on the calendar posted bur haven't been there for any of them.
Finally London has a BBQ meat joint downtown.
Ordered 2 lb of wings, and 3s meats + 2 sides plate between me and the wife. Wings were dryrub and needed sauce to be really tasty. Pulled chicken tasted like pulled chicken covered in sauce...couldn't really taste the smokiness. Brisket was very good. Wish the meat helpings were larger though. Sides were regular fries and sweet p fries. The thicker sweet p fries were raw inside, and clearly not fully cooked. Not sure if they're aware that sweet p fries require higher cook temp compared to conventional deep fried foods.
Service was great. Quick, helpful and attentive. Music was too loud considering it was 6:30pm. Perhaps turn it up for the bar rush, but keep it quieter earlier in the night.
I'd come back. Definitely room for improvement but they just opened.
I ordered the beef brisket with a side of sweet potato mash and black bean corn salad. Really enjoyed each part of the meal and the beef had a really nice BBQ sauce with it. The meal with a pop together was only a little over $17 so I think the prices are pretty fair for what you get! I would definitely come back again and recommend checking this place out!
This is a fun place, it's very laid back, the staff are super friendly and attentive. It has a warm and welcoming feel to it, and I have enjoyed spending time there.
As for the drinks- there are lots of liquors. A few beers, and, well, some wine on tap. Which is strange.
As for food- there is nothing about the menu that could be classified as healthy. It's all poutines and fries and chillies and sandwiches dripping in sauce, but it's all amazing anyway.
Great place! Food was delicious. I took a Big Dawg Beef Crunch Wrap & a small fries. I took off one star off only because the service was slow, waited 15-20 minutes to receive my food. But will definitely come back for those ribs!!!
Deep fried cauliflower for an appetizer and a 2 meat platter and 2 sides. I chose the beef brisket and fried chicken and coleslaw and chilli. DELICIOUS! It's a fantasticly hearty meal. Also at a fair price. I was really impressed with the kind, friendly and fast service we received. Not to mention Alex's Bourbon peach cocktail is the perfect drink for the duration of our meal. Thanks for showing us a great time at Lou Dawgs.
Excellent service, great food!
I got take out. Ordering it in the restaurant was quick, and my order took just 10 minutes. Packaged well enough that it was still warm when I got back home after a 20 minute walk.
Pictured is their brisket, fries, and fried chicken. Really good.
For a city with a wide array of eateries, you will find very few BBQ joints in London. While Shmokey’s is undoubtedly in a league of their own, Lou Dawg’s BBQ is quite reputable and features a solid menu.
I highly recommend the meat platter or the tacos. For vegetarians and vegans, there are also plenty of options available.
Overall, Lou Dawg’s is worthy of your visit.
Owner let us know what foods he had to get rid of the night before lockdown started. We also helped with shots. It was a fun, safe night. Lou Dawgs is always a really fun time with delicious BBQ, cocktails, craft and domestic beers, and live music (when allowed). 11/10 would return.
Great food more than I could handle. The 1lb chicken wings were huge (see pic) and dry rub was amazing. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
