This was my first visit and had an extremely positive experience .Let's start with the restaurant/cafe...not a great area of town but theyre super clean its bright and I loved the decor. The food was delicious ( I had breakfast ) great menu as well as prices . I was told the proceeds ( or a portion goes back into the community .5 star service and everyone was extremely professional and friendly(especially Nicole who was my server) They have a little gift shop which helps woman and I would definitely recommend. Cute hidden gem in the heart of the city .
It is a brightly lit, centrally located, Cafe where the food and barista beverages are soo good. The staff is friendly and knows their products.
I love when businesses not only acknowledge the homeless, and allow them to sit inside the restaurant, but also make it possible/ available for patrons who wish to help by just buying a simple cup of coffee for another human being. Look at the number of times that people have shown kindness. It''s more than 44,000. I want to also add that a lot of people complain either rightly or not right about the homeless problem that we have in this city ( which is significant), however, here is a business that is wrapping its arms around these people who are not the problem. They are just a symptom of a broken down system. It is located "kitty-corner" to a homeless mission -so you know that there's a lot of need for kindness and acknowledgment.
Very nice space to have coffee and hang out! I had the daily special hazelnut oat milk latte and it was very nice, not too sweet. They also offer almond milk for non-dairy milk options. Friends had veggie omelettes that came with a sides of delicious mix of sweet potatoes and regular potatoes, and 2 slices of toast that had a gluten free option. Too bad it isn't located closer to the downtown area, but overall a very open and relaxed space. Our barista was very friendly as well!
I got a cappuccino, and strawberry and banana cupcake, which was delicious. Not too much sugar in the cupcake, the flavours were balanced, you could taste the strawberry and banana together really well. The cappuccino had great flavour with the cinnamon powder sprinkled on top.
Really nice place for the food and clean atmosphere.
It's quite large and open, they seemed to be short staffed but the food quality is great for the price.
Being attached to the goodwill and being in downtown means that you will have occasional homeless visits by the entrances
Open, sunny, bright space serving the best hashbrowns/home fries in London. Seriously good, perfectly crispy and salty pan-fried chunks of potato and sweet potato. The breakfast wrap is great too.
This place is great!
One drawback worth pointing out, is that we had to wait 20 minutes for our food. We were told this in advanced when ordering, but still, a rather long wait for lunch.
Other than that, the food was good as was the coffee. Staff was pleasant, and the atmosphere seemed and sounded busy, but it wasn't crowded.
Really nice place to stop for a coffee or tea. I had an earl grey and pear scone. It was delicious.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Next time I want to go for breakfast! 😋
Enjoyed our time there and the food! We definitely felt a little out of place walking into their for the first time but the staff was very helpful and kind and they were definitely able to pick up on it pretty quickly and help us out with our questions lol. Will definitely have to stop in again sometime!
The ambiance of this place is relaxing and minimalistic, with a lot of natural lighting and spacious seating, making it a fantastic spot for grabbing a meal with either friends or coworkers as well as a great spot to get some work done.
The food was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. The coffee is certainly something I'll be returning for in the future.
Now it's story time:
My friends and I were excited to try Edgar and Joe's $4 breakfast wrap and coffee promotion as we've heard great things about the cafe, but we've never had the opportunity to experience it ourselves. Unfortunately, on our way to the cafe one of our tires blew, which meant we weren't able to make it to the cafe in time before their breakfast meal promotion ended. We were quite upset with a blown tire and our breakfast plans all screwed up, so we called the cafe in a last ditch effort to save our crummy day.
Crystal was extremely understanding and helpful; she may be one of the most personable workers I've had the pleasure of interacting with before. Not only did Crystal assure us that the cafe would serve us the breakfast special, but she even placed our orders in with a hold on them so that the food would be made fresh for us when we did finally arrive at the cafe. Without a doubt, Crystal's stellar service and kindness turned our day around and because of that we would not hesitate to recommend Edgar and Joe's Cafe to any of our family and friends.
Thanks for all of your help Crystal! And thank you to the staff of Edgar and Joe's Cafe for being so incredibly accommodating, it made all the difference for us today.
