Given where this cafe is located you will smell fumes if you sit on the patio and hear the engine noise of planes landing or taking off but this is why one would choose this place. The menu has been changed and the portions are sufficient and tasty. Anytime I'm in London this is my first choice because I love the atmosphere

I have always wanted to go here as it offers a little bit of a sideshow dimension with your meals. The restaurant is located next to the runways of the London airport and affords the diner a view of planes taking off and landing throughout the meal. The well windowed room gives diners a full view from any seat and gives another dimension of a large fair weather patio fronting on the runway. A view is great but the food has to be palpable and we can only report on our breakfast offering which included 2 eggs, home fries, 2 full pieces of toast and coffee. All were good although we would have liked ours a bit warmer. Should call for reservations particularly in good weather as the place becomes populated with flyers taking their planes up. A little hard to find as there is little to no signage. Not advertised very much and most Londoners would not know of its existence. Does a decent business with the Diamond aircraft people and the local flying club. Worth a return visit.

Hidden gem that deserves a visit! Been on the patio in the summer and it is cool to watch the planes take off and land during dinner. Inside during the winter is very cozy and the menu is always top notch. Good craft beers on tap as well. A little out if the way, but definitely worth the drive to find it.

A great place to have lunch while watching aircrafts landing and takeoff. The day I had lunch, the Orange Medivac chopper was training maneuvers.
I had the fish and chips platter for lunch, it was quite good but a bit pricey. But the surprise came when I produced my debit card for payment. The debit card transaction was apparently not going through, so I paid by Credit card. Later on the day I was surprised to see that I was double charged, once via the debit card and once again through the credit card. The food was good, but not that good to pay $30+ for fish and chips. :) called the restaurant and had the charges reversed.

The place is bit off the beaten track. Sometimes quite deserted. Make reservations to make sure if the restaurant is open, or if it's full.

Excellent restaurant. Try to eat there any chance I get when on medevac to London. You have to watch the time its not always open. The steak is excellent. They do a very nice presentation. Vegetables are crisp, and fresh. Professional chefs wearing real chef hats. Its a pleasure to eat there. Waiters are very professional and friendly. There is a selection of interesting choices on the menu. Something for everyone and its all very good. Prices are reasonable for a four five star restaurant.
Some of our crew, the MacDonalds crowd doesn't like eating there so if you're into fast food don't go.

What a great find! We love this restaurant. The food was fabulous. Our server was amazing; fast, friendly and courteous. Fine dining in a unique environment. I highly recommend it. But, if you're planning to go on a weekend, call ahead for a table.

Tonight, I went to the London International Airport… to eat at Katana Kafe & Grill. Some intriguing dishes were on their menu. But I ended up going for the Grilled Endive and Venison Tenderloin as my appetizer and main. The endive was coated in a beautiful maple butter and pecan reduction. A blackberry demi-glace (a gravy-like sauce) was added to the venison. Mashed potatoes teamed with my venison as its side. I had two desserts. First came the tiramisu cheesecake. This tasted like it sat there a while. The sticky toffee pudding tasted better, but it interestingly came with gelato. This bistro takes advantage of the nearby airport with big windows, allowing guests to view the planes and runway. This is even better in the summer because you can sit on their patio. The dining room was populated with plants, Christmas ornaments, and granite table tops. My bill was $95. Katana Kafe holds up in all aspects. Exemplary food, the friendliest of waiters, a cleverly designed interior, and the best restaurant view in London! I want to give a special shout-out to Kaylee! She did a great job serving.

The view is directly at the takeoff section of the airport and flight school, making for a fantastic dining experience. We ordered the starter ‘Dragon Chicken’ and followed with the mains ‘Chicken Pazole’ & ‘Katana Burger’, then ending with desserts ‘Sticky Toffee Pudding’ & ‘Chocolate Brownie Sundae’. Photos are attached in the mentioned order! Will visit again.

A Gem on the outskirts of town! We called ahead as they would be closing in an hour and they welcomed us with open arms. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The food came out quickly... Hot... And super tasty! The salmon was sweet and the steak was superb. The roasted veggies were so flavourful. Don't even talk about the Sticky Toffee Pudding! We fought for the last bite! Super great place to watch the planes come and go. Can't wait to come back to enjoy the flights on the patio when the weather gets warmer. Thank you to the employees, Ken & Cameron - You made our visit memorable. ✈️

The experience was wonderful. I brought a friend for a birthday dinner. She had always wanted to try Katana but hadn't until then. We were both so absolutely satisfied with the lovely service and delicious meal. We will definitely visit again. Thank you from both of us for such an enjoyable evening.

Went for lunch for my son's 13th birthday today. I can't say enough about our experience. The food was delicious. Our server was absolutely incredible. I unfortunately didn't catch her name. But she ensured that my son had the best birthday lunch! Highly recommend!

Very exciting flavour profiles and a blend of newer cuisines and classic dishes with inventive twists that enhance the flavors without overwhelming those that made them classics in the first place. My wife took me here when we started dating. We went for dinner last weekend to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. This is a very special restaurant. There was an issue with a tenderloin ordered rare and arriving closer to medium (stuff happens) but the wait staff noticed when they asked after our first few bites and despite my reluctance to complain had another prepared immediately for me. This was the first time in my experience that there was something even remotely below par at this establishment, and the staff caught it and owned it and corrected it. There was no passing of blame or excuses. They were too busy just making it right. We all make mistakes and those that claim they don't are lying to themselves and will probably lie to anyone they have to in order to keep up the facade. The Katana Cafe is a legitimate gourmet food experience, from the location (facing onto the runways at London International Airport) to the atmosphere, to the food and the service. If you're looking for a special restaurant experience in London Ontario, then you need to try Katana Cafe. It's a hidden gem.

Joined a client here for lunch after a business meeting. Atmosphere was really cool, watched the planes come and go. Service was attentive. Food was delicious, we all had different items and no one was disappointed.
