Started with some pork dumplings and a glass of wine before digging into the best prime rib I've had anywhere . Cut it with ur fork tender , nice Yorkshire pudding , the spaghetti squash and red pepper side was a very nice surprise I didn't think I would like it but it has me Liking SQUASH again !!!! Our waitress was new to her job but knocked it outta the park, perfect server and one of the reasons we go back besides the food(poor service can ruin a good meal IMHO). So if u want to die for Prime Rib...Hit up Gaffers, oh and the shrimp are done just perfect.
Great evening here with my parents. Service was top notch and food delicious. I think the Big Daddy burger was the biggest I've had.
I definitely recommend Gaffers and will certainly be back.
Enjoyed a couple drinks and a steak sandwich in the lounge. Service was excellent and the room was nothing fancy but cozy. There was 5 of us and everyone enjoyed their meals. Wednesdays are rib night!
This restaurant is surrounded by both high level and low level outdoor patio areas. Great if you like eating or having a drink outside. Their clubhouse sandwich is the best I've ever eaten.

We ended up in Lockport unexpectedly last night so decided to give Gaffers a try. There was a very large group event going on so we were warned that things might be a bit slow for us, we weren't in a rush so we were OK with that. I was pleasantly surprised by the interior, it was much nicer than I was expecting, and there were linen napkins and a very classy looking lady hostess. We had a very nice bottle of wine and a very nice shrimp cocktail appetizer. Our mains were quite good although I ordered the seafood rice bowl and instead received what was more like a shrimp dinner with rice and broccoli. The meal came to over $100 but we did have nice shrimp and a decent bottle of wine. After paying I looked at the bill more closely...sure enough I was charged for some sort of shrimp meal that was much more expensive than the seafood rice bowl that I had actually ordered. The charge for the bottle of wine was also $3 more than what the wine list had showed. I decided to let it slide and didn't say anything but I'll pay closer attention next time!
Gaffer's Restaurant & Lounge in Lockport is THE best place for a wedding! We had a fabulous time and everything they did was perfect!
Naomi made the organizing of this event seem effortless and everything from the wedding ceremony to the Best Roast Beef ever was done to perfection.

Yesterday (June 27, 2015), we celebrated our Anniversary at Gaffer’s in Lockport. We’ve been there many times before to have dinner and we left satisfied most of the time. Yesterday, we were a group of 15 people and it was a most enjoyable evening, thanks to the great food and the personal effort of our server Lynne. She and other staff members made us feel special and welcome.
Even though everyone ordered different items from the menu, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Lynne was attentive and efficient. She poured the wine when glasses were nearly empty, she brought me my beer as requested with the meal (I don’t like stale beer) and she even took a group picture of us in front of the fireplace.
Some of us had the New York cut steak and it was done to perfection. The chicken dishes others ordered were tasty and the ribs tender. And the Prime Rib was superb. Even the kids had a great time and enjoyed their orders.
The only complaint we have is about the breadbaskets. There was really nothing there, except for a few slices of bread as large as cocktail bites. Also, a small plate of salad to be included in the price of the meals would make a huge difference.
Otherwise, everything was fine. Thank you Lynne and all the others who helped make this a special event for us.
We will be back.
Mother's Day Brunch. My husband booked this restaurant for Mother's Day brunch, being that it has been on my Urbanspoon wishlist forever.
I was not impressed with the long line-up winding around the restaurant and right next to our table. People were standing there staring at us eating. I think the buffet could have been better set up in the middle of the restaurant or the line-up going out into the bar instead of wrapped around everyone's table. Also, once we FINALLY got up to the front after waiting in line for 20 minutes, most of the hot food was gone or just scraps. The line had to wait for dishes to be filled, but I finally gave up and took a scoop of burnt bacon bits, because I was too hungry. The issue probably came from seating everyone at once, instead of sporadic.
With that said, once we actually sat down and had the food, it was delicious. I will probably come back one evening for a steak on the patio... but will stay away on large holidays again.
Great food...wonderful service. My wife and I had a late lunch here the other day...My partner has food allergies and the kitchen went out of their way to bake a fresh taco shell to ensure nothing was added that could have given her problems.

I had a bowl of home made turkey/rice soup and a rueben that was to die for with skinny homemade fries...
The server was extremely professional and went out of her way to make sure that our needs were met.

Review from a regular. Gaffers is in-between Selkirk and Winnipeg, in Lockport. I have enjoyed many, many dinners at Gaffers without fail since the 90's and I'd guess it adds up to about 500 if not 1,000 meals. A few flunks (in winter and/or staff related) but out of many, many meals I have eaten there I have sampled and enjoyed consistency and attention to not only food quality but also service and detail.
Ok, so I'm a regular but I want to pass on the notion that people become regulars for a reason. Good food, organised service, fair prices and consistency makes this place my fave.
I love this place! In summer you can relax in the sun on their rooftop patio, drinking and eating great food, in winter we love going to the cozy pub. Great wing, burgers, steak, pasta, shrimp, calamari, really I haven't had a bad thing off their menu and we do go often. All around great place!
