Wow for a little hill the staff and service was outstanding! My kids went snowboarding for the first time and the amount of help and kindness from the Chicopee staff was phenomenal. Special thanks to Bob for my refresher after a 19yr hiatus and Josh for his patience with the kids!
A great place for family skiing or beginners. Great staff and facilities. I love that it is operated as a non-profit.
Just loved it.
Amazing experience we had.
Price is a bit on a higher note. But for one time visit it's amazingly fantastic.
You have to get you own gear. If not the charge would be like 100$ per person.
So you can stay as long as you want. But main thing is that you have to check the weather and go.
Before and after 3 days it's better if it doesn't rain. Snow is better.
Mind you if it's your first time it will definitely ache you back so gear up with some thick clothes. You will definitely fall trust me. Many times.
But it's fun.
They will train you for a first couple of mins and you are free to go for your own mountain and enjoy.
We got really lucky with weather over the March break and my kids and I went skiing for the first time ever. Chicopee is a great place for beginners. We did the discovery package which was perfect as it included a lesson, rental and the lift ticket. Everything you need for a non-skiier to try skiing for the day. The staff were friendly, patient and helpful. It was particularly busy when we went, so wait times to get in as well as the lifts were long, but I think it was a combination of March break as well as what seemed to be the most perfect skiing weather day, when the entire winter season had very few of these kinds of days. We had a great time though, and would definitely go back there and do it again (next season, as this one is done).
Very well maintained and managed facility. The staff is super helpful, well trained, and polite. Training slopes have an escalator. The chairlifts were clean. They have a nice restaurant, but options are limited. Highly recommended to spend 4 to 5 hours here.
It's geared towards beginners, kids and teens, but overall it's not bad for skiing without having to leave the city. But don't expect a big mountain, each run is under 60 seconds.
Our experience was good. The staff was helpful but it is too expensive for rentals and other tickets. So that's something they can work on. However, the food area was good and affordable.
Hills are not long but still fun for a night time run! I went with my boyfriend and it was his first time snowboarding. He sucked but I had a great time!
Took my son for his first time skiing. He did the discovery package which was rentals, lift ticket and a 50 minute lesson. He loved it but the most impressive thing was that every staff member we interacted with was amazing. They were all incredibly helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and so kind to our beginner. His instructor, Greg, was fantastic and my son can't wait to ski again! Thank you!
Its a nice place to be for skiing ⛷️
All the staff is really friendly and helpful... we were 1st times and good really good information from the staff... slop is also very decent for the 1st timers.
Went tubing it was awesome. Got more runs then I thought we would. Enjoyed hot chocolate in the chalet after
This is a good learning hill. It's small and the lines are long, but it's a good local option without having to drive far on a weekly basis for lessons for the kids.
There are three lifts and depending on who is working them, often, each chair is not at capacity (i.e. there is only one or two people on the 3- or 4-person chairlift). I get some people may not be comfortable sharing, but that contributes to the long lines.
The staff have been kind and helpful, as my daughter was more advanced than her initial group and the instructors had no problems changing her group. We have our own equipment, so I can't speak to the rental experience, but I see the line-ups are often long.
There's a small terrain park that the kids enjoy, and which typically has a much shorter line-up.
The staff keep some fires going outside, which is a nice way to warm up the hands a bit in-between runs.
Again, it's a good hill to learn to ski, but if you're a regular skier, you'll find the runs short and will likely find a better experience elsewhere. Still, it's a good option to spend a day out with the family.
