Why in the world haven't I been here before? The food was so good! The owner is lovely and the restaurant has the perfect ambiance. Love it and I will be back! Licensed as well. (I have only posted their take-out menu. They also have a Sunday lunch special menu and a full dinner menu)
Stopped in for their lunch buffet and was floored at how tender the meats were and the amazing flavors in their dishes. Started with their lentil soup and could have eaten the whole pot. For $8.99 buffet you can't get a better lunch in town. They make their food fresh and from scratch each and every day Definitely worth a try.
I visited this restaurant last night and I could not understand why it was not busier. It must be because of the construction on the Queensway out front. I had the house red (a nice Merlot) and a New York steak, medium rare. It was prepared perfectly. I had it with a side salad, their fabulous rice, and some grilled veggies. I asked for a steak sauce (out of habit) but the steak was so delicious, I completely forgot about the sauce. I followed it up by trying their baklava. The Persian version is so much nicer than the Greek version - not as sweet and made with pistachios.
The restaurant is spotless, including the washroom. I met the owners - Joseph and Marie, and they are really lovely, caring people. They mentioned they will have a special menu for weekends (I'm including a picture of it) and they may even do a weekend breakfast buffet at some point if there's enough interest.
If you haven't been to this restaurant, or if it's been awhile, it's definitely worth going!
I’m new to google reviews, but I wanted to share how wonderful our experience my friends and I had on Saturday.
The waitress was amazing! My hat is off to her, she was the only one talking orders, and it was busy!
The food was so delicious! We ordered burger, fish, and pasta. It looked and tasted amazing! We were talking to the table beside us, and they had the chicken and was saying how tender it was.
I don’t normally give reviews bad are good, but I decided this establishment needs a good review, it’s a little gem in Keswick. I drive by everyday and I based my opinion on the outside and the signage.
Decided to give it a try last week. So when I walked into restaurant I could see it was spotless and the staff were very friendly. We ordered pizza and salad. The pizza was amazing and salad so fresh. The owner even made a point of coming over to the table to check on us. Very impressed I will def go back. The hamburgers looked really good (they were homemade). 😊
My wife and I had talked about visiting Friends for more than a year. I'm not sure why we haven't gone until today, but I'm glad we did. I should first say, don't expect to much as it's a pretty straight forward menu. I ordered the hot hamburger with the $2.00 upgrade to poutine fries. They use real cheese curds and the gravy is very good. The hot hamburger was basically a grilled burger patty but was nicely seasoned and with the added mushrooms and onions was very satisfying. My wife ordered the 4oz Salmon with safron rice and grilled veggies. The veggies were cooked perfectly at taste delicious, the Salmon was closer to 5oz in size and lightly battered and seasoned to perfection! We both had mixed feelings about the overall dinning experience at Friends, but I can say for sure, we will be back for more. We ate off of the lunch menu. They close at 5:00pm on Sundays.
We came up from Aurora based on great reviews. Not far to drive at all. All four of us enjoyed our meals and the great service!
Lentil soup was wonderful. Two of us had lamb shank which was fall off the bone delish..one had pizza.. one had queen dinner.
Even the 6 month old baby with us loved the soup. Portions are large and prices very reasonable. Will go back for Sure!
