Review Social 242 Lounge And Grill - Kelowna

We were looking for a place to eat at 9pm in Kelowna and to our surprise allot of places stop serving food around 830-9. We then came across social 242 lounge and grill and went in. The staff from waitress, bartender ,cook, and DJ were very accommodating, we then proceeded to order allot of food and wow everything was awesome from food to drinks and service. I will be going back as it was a great experience in how a restaurant should be. My thanks go out to everyone there.

The food here was amazing, nothing short of delicious! Not to mention they have a full vegan menu and are willing to veganize whatever you’d like! Drinks were great, service was great! Definitely an awesome spot if you’re looking to have dinner with some friends, they had a DJ, great vibes!

I came here by myself as I was traveling, Avery took great care of me and made me feel welcome even though the place was empty (was early in the evening). Drinks have been delicious and the vibe is solid (my food is on the way but I'm already v happy). 10/10

Cozy lounge with nice staffs , great cocktails! Stingray, super shaft, Monkey knife fight were so good . We had some shots that were good 😊

Ordered the summer 3 course meal ($35) with lots of options for vegan and meat eaters. The starters are on the small side, tasty. We ordered the summer salad and bruschetta (not traditional but with cream cheese and basil pesto). The mains are the star here with a seafood fettuccini and peach bbq pork ribs served with roasted potatoes and seasonal veggies. The portions were a good size that made up for the starter. There are 6 choices from cheesecake, boozy coffee, gf fruit crumble and lemon bar served with vegan lavender ice cream (from parlour creamery!)

Food was amazing and surprisingly cheap. The music was a vibe, with a friendly atmosphere. I will for sure be back

Food is great! Loud music! Drinks are not well done, that’s why I gave 4 star, lots young people. Came here on Tuesday. This is my first time came here so the experience is limited. Weekend maybe different.

We went here for drinks and ended up buying food. Seriously, the food here is amazing! Seafood Fettuccini was incredible! Kind of strange considering they have a DJ and music is pretty loud. Id definitely recommend this place.

Good place for a date. Good lighting. Music was kinda odd, played electronic remixes of “losing my religion” and “zombie” - found that very odd for the atmosphere they seem to be going for. Food was good overall. Bruschetta was really really good. Caesar salad, was meh. Really salty and not much zing to the dressing. Both the mains we got were good. Server was very friendly and did a good job.

Wow! This was great! We ended up here after the place we had originally set out for was full - what a happy accident! It doesn't look like much from the outside - but go in - sit down - order a fabulous cocktail from Ty ('spicy thai' to his friends!) the mixologist. Cruise chef Jordan's delicious menu - order a bunch of food and sit back and enjoy the eclectic mix of tunes (retro and modern) that the DJ is spinning...you won't be disappointed! We ordered 8 appies and one main course to share (4 of us - but we were STARVING - lol) Ty did some custom drinks with a mezcal base for us, delish😋 The food was so good - and HUGE portions! Chef Jordan came out to see how we were enjoying everything, our server was lovely, attentive, accommodating (and some seriously banging fashion sense!) We were there for several hours and ate and drank ourselves silly! (Except for the DD - he just ate) 9 cocktails - a bottle of wine - a beer - 8 appies - a filet mignon main - 3 desserts - one coffee - a pitcher of beer for the kitchen... 300$ after tax and before tip...the whole experience - priceless!

Wow!!!!! We happened to find this place by mistake. We are beyond impressed. The food is incredible, service was amazing. We loved the vibe from dinner to later with the music. We will definitely be back!!

Arrived after 10pm on Friday night. Had the Cajun Flatiron beef. Cook to perfection, juicy and tender. Great place to chill with friends, DJ creates a great vibe.

The menu is constantly changing, and it's always top-quality. Love the vegan menu and I'm not even vegan. Great staff, a wicked party place later at night, but still perfect for dinner.

Granted I've heard mixed reviews of this location but I will give you mine. Social 242 has been me and my wife's go to place for almost any special occasion, we are always treated with exceptional food and it is the only place where I've actually tried every single item on the menu. Social 242 is always had exceptional customer service the only downside I could say would be that their menu is becoming somewhat stagnant and after 7 p.m. Their restaurant can become fairly noisy since they also serve alcohol. Both of these two minor things can be overlooked because of the exceptional food that we are served every single time that we go to this restaurant. We have always been treated well and we will continue to treat this restaurant to our continued business.

Great evening - fabulous food and spirits. The Carpaccio and Bruschetta are delicious, fried cauliflower is so good, chicken wings are to die!! Great cocktails, great service. Each time we come here the food never disappoints.

I prefer to only go to restaurants that do not serve meat but we were recommended this restaurant from a couple people. they told us that there is an all vegan menu, also the owner from naked cafe told us that their part time chef (not vegetarian) is the one who created the vegan menu. we thought it would be interesting and the menu seemed appealing to me especially the chick pea meat loaf. So delicious, I have not had anything like it. I am from Vancouver , I want to thank the chef and owner for creating a vegan menu for carnivores (introducing them to good vegan food) and herbivores alike. Will be eating here again next time I'm in Kelowna.

Service was poor at best. The groupon "deal" we were there for was available on their menu. I'd have been very angry to have paid what they said the value of the meal was. Food was average at best. It was loud. Felt like a night club almost. I'll never go back

Oh man where oh where do I even begin? We bought a Groupon thinking it was a great deal sadly that was un true as I was miss led on what entrées were part of the Groupon. No where on the Groupon did it say I had to pay for for specific food or on the website. They were already offering a tasting menu of $25 or $35 so in order to eat an entrée from the $35 menu you had to spend an extra $10 per person. I immediately refunded the Groupon on my phone at the table and ordered straight from the menu. Wasn't impressed but stayed over my gut feeling. HUGE MISTAKE! The appies were great so that got our hopes up for the rest of the meal to only be met with less than mediocre new York strip loin and a sauce-less taste-less gnocchi dish. The gnocchi dish was so awful I sent it back and didn't bother to order a replacement dish as my husband's was also bland and lackluster. We were then informed of a staff turnover of the loss of their head chef and sous chef all with months of eachother! Well that certainly explains a lot of why the meals were so poor. My next though was if you are not staffed and equipped properly why are you still open? They comped my meal but not my husbands. We then we're offered deserts as a peace offering and we took them home. While eating one of the deserts later that evening my poor husband bit into the cheesecake to find a piece of glass in his! He bit down so loudly I was worried he broke a tooth! I couldn't believe he had just pulled a piece a glass out of his mouth! I phoned right away around 11pm and needed to come in the next day to see the manager. When I showed it to him he looked at me and the piece of glass suspiciously like I had planted it in the cake. He then tells us they use glass cups for the cheesecake ball and they are not really for to go orders! Yet here you were not less that 24 hours ago offering me the cake to go?!?! He assumed someone banged out the cheesecake from the glass cup into the to go container and a piece of glass broke off, but it was in the inside middle of the cake! We were given our money back but you will never catch us going back here for a second try. I'd like to keep my teeth and dignity in tact. You've been warned!

While the food is good, they totally lied as we went to use a Groupon. Paid $60 for “$100 value, 40% off”. All we got was to chose from the $30 menu that is available to anyone. The Groupon is a joke, and is a ploy to get people in through false advertising. I only bought it coz I wanted a “$100 value meal”. Very disappointed in their methods for getting people in the door.

They have a separate vegan menu with many choices for drinks, appetizers, main and dessert. We were very impressed! The food was delicious. The atmosphere is nice and the staff were friendly.

The food and drinks we're phenomenal, they were short staffed on a Friday night, but that didn't effect the service, and we ended up with Dan the owner as our server, I would highly recommend this restaurant and also the stingray cocktail is fabulous!

This was the best place we ate at on our trip to Kelowna!!! The staff were awesome and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend the Peach BBQ Ribs.. So good!

Went out for a walk with my family and stopped by one of our favourite Kelowna spots, Social 242, for dinner. We had a group of five adults and two children with us so one of us went inside to inquire if there was availability for seating and if children were welcome. The hostess replied yes and to come on in because they have plenty of seating available. We all walked in, with the two children, and we're being taken to a table when a gentleman, who I assume was the manager on duty, came over and said that unfortunately the place was full and had no room for us, even though the restaurant was barley 1/4 filled. I replied with, well your hostess said you had plenty of room. He then proceeded to tell our group that he actually had reservations for all the tables... he was even over booked. His demeanour was condescending and completely unprofessional. It was obvious that the children were the problem. If you don't want children in your establishment and that is your policy then inform your staff so that repeat customers such as ourselves don't make it half way to our table just to be lied to, disrespected and kicked out. Needless to say we left disappointed and offended. Interestingly enough, we made our way past the restaurant after our awesome supper at RauDz, and there were even fewer people in there than before. Social 242 will not be receiving anymore business from us.

Stopped in for a quick appy and ended up sampling half the menu. Everything was phenomenal. They hit the mark on my "old fashioned" and also had a great selection of beers. Over all awesome stop

The food was fantastic. Staff was nice but it was too noisy for me to have a conversation on a Friday night.
