The kind of place you keep coming back , it's about the food , its about the staff , its about the décor it's the patio , its the fireplace and it's about a talented "chef". And if you are a golfer you can spend the day there being wined and dined ....

Beautiful patio, wonderful staff and amazing food!! Can’t wait to go back, every time I’ve been I have been consistently impressed. Would highly recommend for a girls night out, dinner with friends, or even date night.

A nice culinary surprise, definitely one of my most fond food memory visiting Halifax. As someone spoiled by the food scene in our home city Toronto, and culinary experiences from travels I am pleasantly satisfied and glad we found this place. We ordered more food and some drinks that didn’t get to photograph. Photographed was the fish and chips for my daughter. Then that evening’s special which was the Salmon and Lobster on Risotto, amazing. The Lamb is great too. We also ordered the fillet mignon and some cocktails, the coffee one was great but others were standard. The meals served to us that night is at par with food experiences you would get from top spots in Toronto, even Waikiki. The restaurant was nicely decorated and servers were alright. It did feel like there was better service being shown to others that are maybe their patrons or the golf people. Definitely did not try to dress up as it did not seem like that kind of place, and maybe did not look like their typical crowd. Other than that, would consider having their food again.

We were incredibly impressed with the food and service this evening. Such a warm and homey atmosphere with fabulous staff who were so genuine, attentive and personable. The tuna tartare, beef tenderloin with lobster and chocolate cake were flawless and so unique. The fireplace and decor was so cozy we didn’t want to leave. You can immediately tell this is a family owned business who put a lot of love into what they do.

This out of the way restaurant has a lovely and warm atmosphere. We sat on the patio side which had a roaring fire and heaters going to keep everyone comfy. There are blankets and throws if you get a bit of a chill. We ordered the Martin's Drill, which is a 3 course menu up to the chef. The price was $150. We noticed the prices listed on line are less than the actual menu prices when dining in. Our appetizer course consisted of the smoked salmon, calamari and tuna tartar. The smoked salmon was the best of the three by far with its goat cheese centre and caramelized onion topper. The calamari was a bit chewy for me and the tuna tartar was a little fishy for my liking. Second course was a scallop and mushroom risotto with asparagus. The risotto was creamy perfection and the portion size is huge! My only issue was the mussel on the scallop was not removed, but the scallop was cooked to perfection. By the time the dessert course came we were pretty full, but they brought out 3 desserts to share. warm gingerbread with a toffee sauce (delicious) carrot cake and chocolate cake with a chocolate sauce. All were good, but the gingerbread won. Overall a great experience which we recommend making the adventure out. A reservation would be required.

Found this gem of a restaurant for dinner with the family. At first we couldn’t find a reservation online so I decided to call. They were able to accommodate our group on the day and time, that was best for us. I was surprised how busy the parking lot of this place was. The grounds were very beautiful. The inside was welcoming. The food was all A+ …with an exception of two of the dishes we had. The first was the Thai pork tenderloin. It tasted like the meat went sour. Our waitress exchanged it without an issue. The second was the burger, it was a bit dry. The most epic meal of the night was the RACK OF LAMB RISOTTO. The lamb was cooked perfectly. The wild mushroom risotto was amazing! Everybody at the table whom had a little taste wished they had ordered it. The runner up dish was the SEAFOOD LINGUINE. Creamy, garlicky cream sauce with scallops, mussels and shrimps. We finished off our experience with a glass of porto paired with ginger cake. Our waitress, Christine was the best. Service was efficient and quick. Would highly recommend stopping by if you haven’t already made your reservations.

Martin's Kitchen came highly recommended. The Smoked Salmon was a stunner. Great seasoning and smoky flavor! Calamari tasted Great!!! The Roasted Lamb was masterfully executed. The Veal Tangliatelle was plenty flavorful! Fish and Chips were both equally perfectly crisp. Martin's Burger was a great and amazing burger. We are planning our next visit already. The staff was utterly awesome!

We came for lunch on a rainy Friday, and the atmosphere was perfect. Very few guests at that hour (the restaurant opens at 12pm) and, with the weather, we enjoyed a relaxing view of the course as if we had it to ourselves. The food was rich and savoury—we had pasta dishes—and the drinks were refreshingly crisp. The interior had more pzazz than anticipated, but throw pillows in the chairs were a nice touch that made us feel welcome and at home. Overall, excellent, and we are excited for our next visit.

Went to supper last night with friends and was not disappointed. Come on. So. Good! The ambiance, the drinks the food. Just go. The entire meal was incredible. Make reservations, it was packed all night. With good reason. Ordered the elderflower lemonade and had the Scallop Amatriciana with sorbet for dessert . Our food was delivered by Chef Martin personally. To die for. Every one of us ordered something different and every meal was perfect. Go. Wish I snapped some pics to share but was having too good a time! We’ll be back at the end of August for our Anniversary ☺️
