Mcgillicafey's Pub & Eatery

This restaurant is situated on the Trent-Severn waterway, with a lock just across the street, so it's a perfect drive or boat ride for cottagers. There is a lovely waterfront steps away and there was a boat festival with live music, so there is definetely lots to explore and experience in the area. The restaurant is super clean and beautifully maintained. We sat on the patio with a bit of a view of the water, lovely sound of the rushing water just a few steps away, very relaxing after being in the sun most of the day! The interior had a beautiful bar and we were a bit early for the live entertainment that was performing later that evening. Our drinks came out promptly and we were able to partake in some great specials on beer and apps for the one year anniversary of the restaurant. My BBQ pulled chicken sandwich was delicious (tasty BBQ sauce)and was just the right portion size. From pulled pork to BBQ chicken to fish n chips, all of our meals were delicious. Each meal arrived hot and the wait time was reasonable. The friendly wait staff came over several times during our meal to refresh or bring more drinks to the table. If I had one complaint it would be the portion size of the apps, my kids were left wanting more...however, the meal size more than made up for this. Overall an awesome experience for cottagers and road trippers alike.
