This place is a few blocks away from me, so I have went several times and tried different subs each time.
I like the assorted, chicken breast/club, and turkey club. Very tasty. I prefer these type of subs to the overly processed Subway version.
I disliked the rib sub...I think they should heat the meat first and then apply it to the bread, not make the whole sub and then microwave it into sogginess. Yuck!
There has been times I have went here and the toppings have been not all that fresh. Upsetting.
Other times it is wonderfully fresh. Kind of hit or miss I guess.
Will continue to go here and get my dirty hamilton sub ;)
Have been coming here for a very long time. Always good friendly service, even when training new employees. Food is always good for the price. Hours are also good to accommodate time schedule.
I've been going to Mike's subs my whole life, either here (the original shop) or on Upper James. You will never get better or fresher subs. Great quality and great price. The assorted is my go to with pickles on the side (real kosher dills). Highly recommend.
If you want the CLASSIC style sub (not subway) than this is the spot for you, I love the bun, the shredded lettuce, classic deli meats, the sub sauce etc, it even has the classic sub shop smell that I remember from the 80s as a teenager. I'm going to get a mixed sub for lunch and my work dinner for tonight. Make it a combo with lays classic chips and a canned pop for a complete cmeal. YUM! Chain store shops got nothing on Mike's. Period.
Mike's Subs on Ottawa always has great subs. Fresh buns and toppings at a reasonable price. I have loved every sub that I have bought there. Highly recommend!
Great little spot for your basic regular homemade sub. Great price and quality. Staff is easy going and don't forget to ask for a Pickel. It's worth the extra cost!
No frills, traditional submarine sandwich shop. Fresh buns, classic toppings. Been a staple in the neighbourhood for decades for good reason.
