Review August 8 - Hamilton

First time at this location, we usually go to the one in Burlington. We went on a Saturday for lunch and it was very busy, but the staff did their best to keep everyone happy. There is plenty of parking available, it’s easy to access from the highway, the staff were very polite and accommodating. It was my wife’s birthday and they even gave her a cake with a candle in it. The food was excellent, I definitely recommend it. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it was too hot and stuffy inside the restaurant with all the people and cooking. I asked the server if they could turn down the heat, but she said it was not possible. They really need better ventilation. It felt like I was sitting in the Arizona desert. Usually restaurants like to turn off the heat when they start cooking and customers fill the place, it saves them money on heat. Hopefully they turn off the heat next time. The only other thing I would recommend to improve is for the server to have the bill ready sooner rather than making customers wait many minutes after they’ve finished eating. This will help the turnover rate too. Overall we had a great time and a great meal. Thank you August 8!

They have good Dimsum, Also Satay was to an exceptional authenticity. Sushi rolls are good. Tempora Crabstick/shrimp had more flour fried so people who don’t like oil shouldn’t try them. Staff is good, quick and buffet is one good option they have.

I ordered $160 worth of sushi today and we are not happy with our order at all. A couple of months ago we ordered sushi for the same price and we got a lot more sushi then today. We are really disappointed with the sushi that we got. It did not look eatable at all. It did not look like sushi, sushi was falling apart and it was not tasteful. Definitely not coming back.

August 8 is always the greatest sushi dining experience! This location is beautiful. Everything is fresh, LOVE their green salad. Great staff and daily special drinks are good too!

Service was really good and the waiters were very nice and helpful. We went on a Friday evening for the all you can eat buffet and it was $40.99 per person. Try to book a reservation, so that you don’t have to wait in line.

Ordered a salmon tray, drove 30 minutes to get there for this location. paid over $62 with tax. The sashimi was old and had a bad smell to it (I eat sushi a lot, this sushi was old). Called, they tried blaming it on the weather, if it was in fact the weather, the other salmon sushi would've been bad too. They offered me 10 sashimi credit, when the sashimi that had gone bad in the tray was more than 10. Likely to not even use this credit. If this was uber eats, they would've probably refunded me the entire order. Horrible experience, will definitely not recommend this place to anyone. First google review ever, I never usually post reviews, however, this experience and the price I had paid definitely frustrated me.

August 8 is a fantastic All-You-Can-Eat sushi eatery and my personal favorite to visit while in the Hamilton area. The staff are prompt to assist your table with anything needed ams the food comes out in a timely manner and with fairly excellent presentation.

I love August 8 very much. Upper James is nicest one in all of locations. Especially the salmon sashimi is very fresh. It is a good place to have dinner with friends. All of staffs are very friendly, nice.
