Enjoyed a southern dinner here for Mardi Gras. This little restaurant is a true gem! It is a small size but big in personality. Connie is so good with her customers. The live music for the evening (Ragwax) was excellent!! We enjoyed the food and the flavors were good but we felt there was not enough food served. This restaurant serves their meals family style, which is fine for us, just wish there was more. The decor is so fitting! We had a very nice evening!
Even in lockdown, Mississippi Queen Foods was able to provide and unique and delightful (take-away) dining experience. I can't wait until we can actually eat in the restaurant! Still dreaming of those biscuits.

I ordered catering for a small surprise party from Mississippi Queen and LOVED it! Connie was extremely responsive during email correspondence re: menu choices, which was so very helpful. But above the service was the quality of the food... absolutely amazing! My husband and I have been to NOLA numerous times and have enjoyed both high-end and cheap eats in the Big Easy, and have enjoyed learning to cook southern-style, so have developed a bit more of a discerning palate with our southern cuisine. Mississippi Queen has hit it out of the park; other local restaurants serving southern food don't hold a candle to this restaurant. The catfish gumbo, crab cakes, and coleslaw were all delicious, but the bbq shrimp were out of this world.... definitely should have ordered more!! The beautiful king cake was quite a hit: beautiful, full of flavour, and the traditional baby in the cake added a fun element to dessert as everyone wanted big pieces to increase their odds of getting the baby, despite being full from a delicious meal. We hope to visit Mississippi Queen soon to dine in and enjoy the southern ambiance of the restaurant. Thank you Mississippi Queen!

Connie, the owner, hostess and cook, organizes these Southern Suppers on an advanced reservation basis only. Your price includes a multiple course Southern inspired dinner AND live entertainment (almost always local award winning blues artists). Food is served family-style in big bowls and platters - whether it's chicken and sausage gumbo, or blackened catfish fillets, jambalaya or cole slaw with remoulade, it's all awesome and made from scratch.

This is a go to place to eat, if you are in hamilton all the food is top notch, best cat fish I have ever eaten. The mississippi queen herself is 1/2 the experience the decor is awesome and the stocked items and ingredients to make your own is unattainable unless you go down south .....you want real mississippi fare you gotta eat here y'all !
We enjoyed another delicious takeout meal on Friday night. During 'normal times', Connie (the talented owner/chef/host/blues lover!), books Southern Suppers in her cozy restaurant. Dinners served family style and includes live blues musicians! At this time, she's offering delicious takeout meals at very reasonable prices. Open Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Dinner combos with chicken, jambalaya, catfish...yum...many options on the website! Highly recommended. Please continue to support our local, independent restaurants.

Hello folks, Mississippi Queen was recommended to me by a Hamiltonian I know very well. I have been waiting for some time to taste these highly recommended pies. I must say that driving from Niagara Falls On to pick up two pecan pies along with a bag of pecan pralines candy is absolutely worth it. I love the way your home made crust is folded inward, your pastry dough tastes hardy, your filling has has such a sweet savory taste that one can taste the love you put into your creations. As well your pecan glazed topping is to die for.
The bag of candied pecan pralines was amazing, it was gone before I reached home.
I highly recommend Mississippi Queens menu of cuisine.
I will defiantly return to enjoy Connie's cuisine again.
