Loved this little place.
Upon arriving received tea right away with the menu. With order also received some simple miso soup and salad.
Had the tempura and it was light and delicious.
Soft crab roll and shrimp roll were great. What a great little spot, will be returning for sure!
Wow. Wow. Wow.
Amazing sushi!
Honestly the best sushi I have had so far!
The sushi chefs are skilled and create beautiful rolls. The flavour is out of this world compared to other sushi joints in Hamilton. I started with the house salad and miso soup and I had the red dragon roll, California roll and Saba Sashimi afterward. Everything was delicious.
The restaurant itself is small and somewhat shabby but still has a great atmosphere with quaint seating and privacy for diners. It has a nice feel to it the Feng shui is good.
The owners and employees are friendly, welcoming and make sure you are having a wonderful dining experience.
This is not an AYCE sushi place. It's a la carte but the prices are fair for the beautiful food .
I would definitley recommend and will be returning promptly to try more menu items.
High end sushi at a very reasonable price! Joy is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to and a go-to every time I am in Hamilton. The staff are incredibly kind and generous.
This is my go to sushi spot at school! The red dragon roll is so good! The staff is always super attentive and nice. The price point is decent. Their spicy mayo is a bit too spicy but otherwise really love this place!
This is the place for a la carte rolls when you don't feel like AYCE. Great service and good rolls this side of the country. You definitely get your money's worth. Yes it looks sketchy from the outside but not on the inside.
This was my first trip to Joya and I was pleasantly surprised. Like a lot of the reviews, it doesn't seem like much from the outside. It actually looks mad sketchy from the parking lot but once you're inside the warm service really brightens up the place. The sushi was fresh and we ordered a hot bowl of spicy udon for a rainy day and it just absolutely hit the spot. The service is the reason i'll go back. Incredibly attentive and kind.
Favorite Sushi joint in Hamilton!. This place is hands down our favorite sushi place in Hamilton, love it! The sushi is fresh, created with great care, and the price is very reasonable for the quality you get. My only criticism would be the facilities, the place could use a freshening up. But that's definitely not reason enough to avoid. If you love sushi you have to give this place a try, the food is truly wonderful! Favs are, maki lunch, red/green dragon rolls.
Delightfully fresh. The sushi at this Mom n' Pop restaurant is truly phenomenal. Fresh, tastefully prepared, and delivered with a smile. Thank goodness there is good sushi in Hamilton!
A bit pricey, but good food. Ordered take out from here several times; have never been disappointed. The rolls are well made and fresh tasting, and the service has always been prompt and polite. The price might be a bit higher than you would expect for the area, but given the alternatives nearby, Joya is a good option if you don't mind opening your wallet.
Delicious and fresh! Got take out sushi dinner on a Thursday night and was pleasantly surprised. Higher quality than the all you can eat local sushi places. The fish was beautiful and the wasabi was spicy.

Family run Japanese Restaurant, best in town they use to be in Milton also and I love there food.
Best I've had in a long time.
Quality and fresh every time
Love this place! I am never disappointed when I go here. If you’re thinking of going to AYCE sushi, forget it. Just come here! The portions are large and you get a soup and salad with your order. But most importantly it is the high QUALITY of the sushi that has me repeatedly coming back!
Sat in for dinner. Nice atmosphere, attentive service. The Goyza soup was memorable, the speciality rolls generous in size, and everything was fresh and tasty. Meal came with a small salad and miso soup. I found the price to be pretty normal so felt like good value.
Great sushi place. Friendly staff and homey atmosphere. A little bit pricey but worth it for the service and quality.
Really good sushi and decent prices. Nice thick pieces of fish on the nigiri and the spi ey salmon rolls are quite good. I love to pop by whenever I am in the area for a quick and healthy lunch
I live just a few blocks from Joya and it's hard to drive by after work without stopping in sometimes! The sushi has always been great here. Staff are friendly, have never had a bad experience in years. Definitely my favorite sushi in the city. It's worth coming here instead of all you can eat if you prefer quality over quantity--give Joya a shot!
New location. Same great sushi. Same great people. This is the most bestest sushi house in the Hammer. It is on par with sushi in Vancouver (where I often go). None of this all you can eat micro sushi going on here. Quality a la carte. Also the family running the place are sweet and have been fronting this enterprise for years.
We enjoyed the Nape Udon, Salmon Teriyaki (sauce on side), and new Yellow dragon roll! Just amazing and really awesome food. From the outside, it's a hole in the wall but really worth the food. Waiters are not intrusive and the kitchen staff always greet and thank customers which is really nice!
