Review Anchor Bar - Hamilton

Went there for a beer and snacks on Saturday afternoon. The service was amazing, besides being kind, the waitress was happy and fun, she let us in a good mood, just like her. The menu has few options of main dishes, but looks like they making a good pizza. We choose a chicken poutine and cheese sticks. The chicken poutine was too spicy. But it was good,Cheese sticks was ok.

Great F%*^#ing place. Great service and great food (the original Buffalo Wings) and a great selection of beer. I have been going there for nine years. I host a party there every year with over fifty people. The team at the Anchor Bar is easy to work with, always pleasant and the food is always delicious. Tried the salt and pepper (dry) wings this year for the first time, they were delicious. Highly recommend.

Absolute amazing service, the workers are always great very fast service!! Food is delicious drinks too. I highly recommend coming to this location I’m a regular and the servers Sierra Suzi Jenny are so personal friendly and just make the experience nice. The bartender claudia is phenomenal!! Even the hostess Emma is so friendly and welcoming. If I could give more then 5 stars I definitely would make sure to check them out whenever you can.

Anchor bar is oddly hit or miss. Sometimes the food is amazing and worth the money, other times it's just average tasting and nothing special. Had the white pizza and first time it was amazing, 2nd time it was a completely different story and lacked flavour. The food is definitely on the higher end of pricing. Service is as hit or miss as the food, sometimes it's great and other times I've sat at the bar and been ignored or had an empty drink for over 30 minutes. I'd go to anchor again but it's not my top choice for food in the area

Came in with no real expectations...it's a bar attached to a mall. Food was fresh...fast and flavour was on point. First surprise - great food. Second surprise 1st class service ....I would hire Sierra away in a heartbeat if I owned any sort of customer oriented business. I am a little sad because now I have no choice but to abandon my regular neighbourhood bar and start becoming a regular @ Anchor Bar Jackson Square

We were in town for Judas Priest and wanted something close. Amazing food and the service was incredible. Emily our server was awesome, answered our menu questions easily and has a great sense of humour. It makes such a difference when someone is truly good at their job, I bow to the queen!

I gave it ONE star because the fries were good. I paid $30. For a single order of wings, fries and cold slaw. When I got home and opened my box it had 8 wings, fries and 2 pieces of carrots and 2 pieces of celery in a plastic bag. The wings were hard and dry with very little sauce to help with the chewing, obviously cooked long before it was ordered. That was the first and the last time I buy food there.

I wish I read the reviews before coming here with my sister tonight. It seems many other customers had similar experiences to mine. Initially, I was seated pretty quickly. My sister and I started with an order of mozzarella sticks. 6 small sticks with a side dip of marinara sauce costed us 16.75 (before taxes). That's insane. The portion size makes sense as it's meant to be an appetizer, but for the amount of sticks you're getting that's too pricey. My sister and I noticed our cutlery was not properly cleaned. As someone who has worked dish I know those were not okay to send out. Also, I paid $21.95 (also before tax) for their Buffalo chicken melt sandwich and changed the side to sweet potato fries. The kitchen staff messed up and accidentally gave me regular fries. My waiter was quick to resolve the issue at no additional cost to me. I thought maybe, just maybe, the nightmare was over. But unfortunately, the chicken in the sandwich I ordered tasted like it was cooked in vinegar and dyed red. Not only that but it was incredibly small for the price. I tried a bite of the fettuccine Alfredo my sister ordered and the sauce was disgusting. Her portions were small too. How do you mess up one of the easiest meals to cook? We both waited at least 25 minutes for our meals after the appetizer. Trust me and all of the other negative reviewers when I say to please avoid supporting this business at all costs. The server was outstanding, but the quality and quantity of food wasn't worth my order total of 37.59 (with taxes, just for my food alone).
