Great Chinese food here overall, the beef fried rice is good, beef and broccoli and egg rolls were a hit, I did find the sweet and sour chicken a little dry. Staff were good, the power was out when I arrived for pick up and she could still do the transaction. Definitely a solid 8.5 or 9/10 overall
Food was awesome. The Chop Suey was very unique and delicious with sprouts, beef and vegetables in a yummy sauce. Bough a half L wine for a reasonable price. My kid enjoyed the food. All together it was a good experience.
This has been my favorite Chinese food restaurant for 30 years!
After a fire and change of ownership, I am so happy this place hasn't changed much.
I like my combo plate C6, and my food was fresh and delicious, as always.
As for portion sizes...my friends ordered a combo plate C2, and thier portions were bigger than mine for less money which was disappointing.
I paid more for spare ribs, I deserve the same sized portions. Not less food in the same sized container.
The egg rolls are still the best in Halifax though!
I cannot say enough good things about Look Ho Ho. The perfect blend of friendly service and top-quality food keeps me coming back as a loyal customer. I've never had a single bad meal here, and their egg rolls are simply amazing. It's the only Chinese food place that has ever truly won me over. Their food is quality, the price is reasonable, and the serving sizes are plentiful. All around, an incredible restaurant that represents the best of what Halifax and the Maritimes has to offer.
I will not go anywhere else for my Chinese Food. I travel almost an hour and a half to eat here! Been dining here since the early 90's. Food is hot, fresh and delicious. Staff is extremely friendly. I highly recommend Look Ho Ho. My favorite dish is General Tao Chicken.
A neighborhood mainstay! New ownership a few years ago and the food excelled again to the quality it was years ago. Always busy and a great place for takeout. The eggrolls are a demand with my family! The staff and cook will work hard to fit you in when they are slammed!
I have been eating at Look Ho Ho for a long time, I recently returned to Canada after a 2 year absence. And stop 2 of restaurants was Look Ho Ho. As per normal I ordered the Ginger Beef. I got it home and there is barely any sauce. I went back to get some more... just thinking this was a 1 of 1. I was mistaken, I order the ginger beef once again, and same, barely any sauce. I ask what is going on, and the woman told me this is normal. Reading the comments I see the prob, they changed owners. Once I fixed the sauce to meat ratio, all is now right with the world.

This was honestly a bit of a surprise!
The decor is well lit, and well spaced. There is pretty ample seating as well.
The menu overall is fairly large with the standard affair of westernized chinese food. We ordered a hot and sour soup with a combo set. Most of the items were very well priced.
The soup and combo we got had large portions!
The service was very good, exceptionally quick!
Given the menu the food was very well done. The hot and sour soup had a good variety of ingredients granting it a nice flavor, the BBQ pork slices are there in pretty good quantities and the mushrooms really help flavor the soup with extra umami . A minor complaint is that it's a bit thick for what I'm use to in this style of soup.
The combo dish was as expected but well done. The chicken dish had a reasonable ratio of chicken vs bean sprout, the chicken ball was excellent a great ratio of batter and chicken with the batter being nice and crispy outside. The fried rice is cool with beef which is different from the normal chicken fried rice but it is good! The egg roll is pretty standard, good crunch but the filling could be better.
Overall if you are hungry for some western chinese food at a great price give it a go!

The food is very good, however the new owners have decreased the size of portions Slightly from what the previous owners portion. The food cooled of much faster than my previous visits, and I noticed the waiter carried the plates out in their hands, they couldn't do that before as the plates used to be hot to the touch. Overall a good place to eat.
I have been a customer from a little girl to now a senior. The food and service has always been consistent. The longevity of the Look Ho Ho speaks for the restaurant and it's staff.
Had take out from here for the first time last week. The costumer service was amazing and the food was ready very quickly.
Very impressed with how clean the restaurant was.

My parents came here when they were in their 20's. They are now in their late 80's. Food was great. Staff were very pleasant. Restaurant was very clean.
Amazing food quality. I remember going here as a child with my parents and I will make it my new must go to whenever I visit Halifax. The eggrolls are meat and not full of beansprouts as found in the chinese food restaurant in Toronto. I can not emphasize enough how immaculately clean the restrooms and dining area are. Thoroughly impressed! Pics are of the C12 combination plate.
I love it here! My favorite waitress is Lorie. Always so cheerful and wonderful!! Food tastes amazing every time we get it! 10/10 would recommend!
