The moment you walk in the doors of Susie's your overwhelmed with the visual experience of colors, and vibrant decor which is quite rare in todays industry and great to experience.
The cupcakes are delicious, a bit expensive but for a niche custom bakery its valid pricing. The shortbreads are melt in your mouth and taste fantastic though one shortbread out of the package did have a weird overpowering taste of baking powder/soda Im still going to rate this wonderful bakery 4 stars.

Seasonal options and flavours. They even offer a vegan cupcake, and a wheat alternative option, although, when I was in the store today, the young lady serving us was unsure what was used instead of wheat flour.
All in all, this is a wonderful shop and you will not be disappointed with their offerings.

Such friendly and happy staff! Got a Moon Mist cupcake today and you guys really nailed it!! Looked and tasted just like the ice cream. The other cupcakes I bought were also fantastic but that one was a real winner! (Was going to say that one really took the cake ... But thought that miiight be a bit too far into punville).

Susie's is the spot to go if you're in the mood for a treat! Their staff is friendly, helpful, there are a wide variety of options from cookies, fudge, cupcakes, and much more. They even have gluten-free options, which is a bonus as I have some gluten intolerances. I would definitely recommend!

Love the snacks and the milkshakes! Always come to get a milkshake. However, it seems that there is always no ice cream to make the milkshake only when one particular employee is working. This has happened more than once. Overall, love it and will keep coming.

Today was my first visit! I went First thing in the morning, and, on an empty stomach! Lol! I bought a cookie dough bar and the cookie dough you can eat! My cookie bar was absolutely delicious! My cookie dough ( birthday party) tasted ( I know this is going to sound weird); like the smell of playdough.. It was so bland I gagged on it! I hope that maybe this batch was just missing something ( vanilla maybe?) And the next time I go to try a different flavor ( cookies and cream) I'll have a different experience! I'm rating it good because I had great customer service, the shop clean, the cookie bar was delicious and there is ALOT of options to choose from, I would have ranked higher but I can't get over my cookie dough, mainly because I was so excited to try it.
I almost didn't buy it to be honest because I wanted every flavor and couldn't decide!

I had no idea Susie's offered anything vegan-friendly until my friend told me. Located in Bayer's Lake next to Harvey's is their adorable storefront. Everything looks so nice and delicious, I wish it was all vegan.
They do offer made to order vegan cupcakes which are perfect for weddings, baby showers or any other occassion you may want sweets for. In store they also have tubs of vegan cookie dough which you can eat as is or bake once you get home.
My friend purchased a cup of chocolate chip cookie dough for me which I ate with a spoon and it was delicious and even more surprising was that it was also gluten-free!
Hope that Susie's will eventually expand to offer more vegan options for the ever growing vegan population in Halifax but so glad they offer anything at all!
The gentleman working was really nice too and made sure to let us know they had vegan cupcakes for order. Great service!

I was just in NYC and had to try a cupcake from Magnolia's which is "famous" and consumed by many a celebrity, and all I could think was how much better Susie's cupcakes were in taste, appearance and texture. The thick butter cream and care put into each cupcake is beyond compare. Little wee Hfx's Susie's Shortbreads outshines a famous spot in NYC - hands down!!! Recommend to anyone who is looking for a sweet treat x
