Stopped in for a drink on the patio. They only had one person working and we did have to go up to the bar to get our first drink. Drinks were good. The patio was nice. Good spot for some people watching. We also had the sampler platter which was great! Onion rings were my favorite. I think I'll be back!

Good beer specials and service is pretty good. If the prices were a little lower, I'd be happy. If I'm spending over $15 on food in a pub setting, I expect larger portions. The food quality doesn't have to be Master chef. I just want to leave the bar feeling full, warm and content. The night menu could have more options too. Really a great place to be though.

I always try to sit at the bar when I visit the Fickle Frog. I sit at the bar because I like talking to people that come in and watch a bit of sports on TV. The bar tenders are friendly and attentive. Table service is great too if there is no room at the bar. The food is really good and the kitchen is open and right beside the bar so you can really see how clean it is and how well it's run. The last thing I ordered was a lobster roll. It was delicious and it actually had lots of lobster. Next I want to try their burger. I was sitting beside a person who ordered the burger and it looked and smelled so good I almost changed my mind on the lobster.

Fickle frog is a staple for an inexpensive beer on Spring Garden. It's changed owners and/or managers a few times the past year or so but seems to have settled back into the main street discount pub that made it a local favourite in the first place. Look for daily beer specials and friendly service. The setting is hardly fancy but it's totally adequate. Some pretty decent food on menu too, although not nearly as cheap as the drinks.

Kind of a hidden little place on spring garden road. Seems like the type of place to go to if your looking for cheap drinks or vlts. Food was decent, very well priced for the portions. Bartender was really friendly, on top of refills of water, quick with service/food. Only thing I didn't like was the chicken fingers. They tasted processed. And the scratched up tables/graffiti in the bathroom but they could be the look they're going for. Everything else was good tho.

Great tasting 3 dollar beer options for 14 oz. Kitchen was closed so we didn't get the chance to try the food. More restaurant style then dive bar, has a good atmosphere for starting the night off with some close friends.

It's not as good at it used to be but it seems to have gotten past the growing pains of changing management and has become much more stable in the past few months. Prices are a little higher, but staff are great now. I still miss the old pizza and garlic fingers but it's still a good place for a pint after work.

Seems like a good place to stop in for a pint after work. Only been twice. Male bartender is very good and efficient. This evenings pint was cold and nicely poured. One waitress was laughing, loudly alot; another was reading their social media, out loud, to other waitresses. Very distracting.

So I am wandering around Spring Garden Road on a vacation out in Halifax. Plenty of reviews are on this place, but I ask around on the street "What would be a cool local bar to go to?". I wanted to not be in a tourist area, and wanted more of a local feel :). Someone pointed me out to the Fickle Frog. Cool. I walk to it and in. In here was a really good group that had a sense of community. People were super nice and friendly. I was introduced to people, even exchanged numbers with someone I thought was pretty cool. I was served first by Kelly who told some awesome stories and had good personality. I was also served by Craig (hope I got it right, guy with the beard), he gave me local tips on bars I could go to later in the night, and he was point on and really a great server. I don't think that this place wants tourists to take over lol. But if you go in humbly and show respect like you would in your own backyard, I would suggest a nice pint here while you are by the Garden. Enjoy Life! Peace to the people in the bar!

Stopped here for a quick drink on the way home and was BLOWN away by the service and atmosphere! The drinks were inexpensive and tasty and the food is very well priced! Our server Lauren B was perfection in an apron and a ponytail 💜🥰 we will definitely be coming back ASAP! 10/10 spot.

Food and atmosphere are amazing. Food is good quality and affordable (especially rib night) and the staff is extremely accepting of requests even after the kitchen closes. Truly one of the most iconic and best bars in Halifax.

Stopped with a friend for a pint, beer was cheap and cold. Watched the cook wander around wearing latex gloves for a good 40 minutes switch tasks multiple times but the gloves stayed the same. To her credit, she did wash them once or twice. Culinary students, amirite? Food doesn't hurt you I swear. Anyways, would not eat when she worked, so can't speak on the food. Bartender was polite and attentive.
