Dropped in on a Wednesday evening to listen to some music and grab a bite to eat. The music was great and the food was good. The nachos were massive and the toppings very generous.
It wasn't too busy so the servers were very attentive. As soon as we finished our drink and didn't want another, we were served our bill. As we wanted to listen to a bit more music, having spent a fair amount of money, we stayed at our table for a bit longer.
Music starts at different times depending on the day and the musicians can be found on the website.

Landed here for a drink and to enjoy the live music, which was great! Found the service to be quite slow though, friends that joined us ended up just going to the bar to get their drink. If you’re looking to actually have a conversation with the people at your table, you may need to dine elsewhere as the live music as it is quite loud.

The atmosphere at the split crow pub is phenomenal and the history of it being the oldest pub in Halifax is also cool!

Classic pub experience, waiter wad the manager and comp'd extra cheese on our nachos in place of a meat option. Very appreciated as a vegetarian and made for a great meal. I always get the fine company blonde, also a classic lager. Great place for casual meet ups or a quick beer

We popped n for some drinks and music a couple of weeks ago when we were in Halifax. We didn't eat here.
It had a fun atmosphere, but we left early. I always like to drink in historic pubs when I can, so I enjoyed that aspect.
The music was great, though it was all cover songs.

Power hour busy as expected, (haven’t gone on another day) but service was still solid. Just don’t expect sitting room if you show up at 9! Guy at the door gave my friend a hard time with her ID which was annoying…

My first time back in a while and it was just like I remembered. Great selection of drinks our server Pat the Ninja really took care of us and had great suggestions, our app platter was perfect just the right amount for sharing. We still wanted to have more drinks and Pat made sure we knew where to go!

Adrian and Lia were absolutely amazing. We were there after a long trip from Sydney. They constantly walked around us & checked on us. We returned later that night with my niece & her fiancé. It was packed but it didn’t stop us from having a great time. The bouncers were also amazing at the end of the night. Thank you so much for the great service. We definitely will be back if (when) we go to Halifax again. The food & service was amazing!

Never been out East before and the staff at this place made me feel so welcome and they were extremely friendly. Shout out to Adrian and Quentin for being awesome staff!!! They made me want to come back. Food was good, atmosphere is chill and friendly. Love this place! You need to go for a pint and some food at this pub when you are in Halifax. Don’t pass up this spot!!!!

Just finished eating here with a group of friends, after having a mediocre, at best experience. The service wasn't the best. But the food was the worst part. One friend had pan-fried haddock with mashed potatoes and veggies. The haddock was bland as can be with zero seasoning, the potatoes were some sort of mush from a box and the veggies were frozen peas and corn. Two other friends had fish and chips. The fish was mostly greasy batter and lacking fish and the fries were frozen. Tartar sauce was the best part. I, myself ordered potato skins. First I received nachos, the server then fixed the mistake and brought me the potato skins that claimed to be "smothered" in cheese. They were clearly burnt and were lacking cheese. We did however, have the donair dip as an appetizer and it was amazing. Overall, the service was okay but the server and the bartender were yelling back and forth to each other from opposite sides of the pub. However if the food wasn't so bad this wouldn't have been such a big issue.

This used to be a great place to go, however after making reservations for a party of ten for dinner at 6, we were turned down at the door by a bunch of young punks who though they ruled the world. After speaking with the manger, it was even more of a let down after he told us there was nothing he could do and not giving us a straight answer as to why we we not allowed in. My guess is that they over booked and were over capacity . I was with the groom and his friends, his father and his finances father and it was a terrible experience with this "security guards " or bouncers" as well as the manger . Very disappointing , as I know this is a place with great service and good, unfortunately the punks who were working the door ruined it for everyone . Boston pizza across the street gladly let us in and served us dinner

This bar was the most inconvenient bar I have ever been to. We were denied on my bachelor party around 7 pm for a group of 10. So my opinion is that reservations have no meaning at all to this venue. To be completely honest we were not intoxicated at this point. It was a huge let down and I couldn't believe the security guards were denying 30 and 40 years olds at the door and even asking for ID's before telling us to leave.

Good selection of taps and pretty good food. I had the Spicy Thai Pizza. I found it more sweet than spicy. It very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. I recommend it. I didn't stay for the entertainment but it looked like it would have had great sight lines with the tiered seating.

I just want to give a big shout out to The Split Crow for an amazing NYE! The staff were so professional and attentive! Beautiful seafood appetizers were brought to us in abundance! The whole experience was just so great! Of course Christine and Blake killed it! Kudos again to The Split Crow for booking them in the first place!

Wasn't happy. Had a new server and this has nothing to reflect her, however seemed everything we had ordered was not available. I ordered an appy, wasn't available, my son and his friend ordered shark, so 2x=weren't available, I ordered another appy, she came back 10 mins later to say wasn't available, so I ordered nothing, then to top it off, my other son ordered mussels, 15/20mins AFTER the order was placed=NOT AVAILABLE!! He ended up ordering something he really didn't want and the quality of the food wasn't good. He ate anyways cause he was hungry but at this point we were starting to become annoyed.
Friends with us ordered an appy plate also, the chips were burnt and not well liked.
It was 5:30 on a Friday night. Hope they told their servers what WAS available. Poor girl, I was upset that nearly everything we had wanted was not available and I felt bad for the new server. That's stressful for her and puts stress on her that she just didn't deserve. Not sure I'll be in a rush to go back.

Not only did a waitress not communicate our reservation, but when we showed up, the staff were incredibly rude to my friend (who's reservation was for her birthday). Incredibly disappointed with how everything was handled, and especially disappointed with the condescending way my friend was spoken to.

The food was decent - but the service was not very good. My friend and I asked for water to drink, and every refill was served out of a pitcher of lukewarm tap water - no ice at all, until we asked the waitress to bring us some. It took her a long time to return, and when she did, she just brought a glass of ice and set it on the table and left. I was left feeling like we were an imposition on her time since we only stopped in for a quick bite to eat, some water, and to get out of the sun for a bit.

Live music makes this place great. The deep fried food is fair at best. The table we sat at had no speaker system so the performer who was right in front of us we could not hear what he was playing. Overall a pub playing live music always gets my return business.
Suggestion- Stay open later with live music til close

So many memories over the years. Always great music, amazing, personable service by the phenomenal staff! Always feels like home regardless of the time that passes between visits the the city and the crow! A must visit - bring great friends , have lots of laughs and sing-alongs, a drink or several and stay classy!
