This special spot in North End Halifax have experienced staff and top-notch food. I've been there a couple of times since it opened and have never been disappointed. Everything on the menu is great, and I especially enjoyed their Shakshuka.
For the first time, I had dessert during brunch - the chocolate - and it was the best decision I made there.
Though it's a bit pricey, it's worth the money for the food and experience.
I highly recommend this place and my next stop will be for dinner.

The reality was very different from my expectations. I was thinking of an old, stodgy, classic silver service restaurant. I wasn't expecting a great vibe, good music, chatty and busy. Amazing wine selection with incredibly knowledgeable staff. The small plates are perfect for sharing and varied. However it is spendy ($12 for an Exile?!) which makes it a nice treat but not a regular haunt. Will save my pennies and go back.

Had a wonderful first experience at The Ostrich Club in the hydrostone celebrating my partners graduation today. We tried all kinds of the amazing dishes that they offered. Each one better than the other. This was easily one of the best dining experiences I have had in Halifax! Our server Lindsay did a good job, and all of the cocktails were incredible. I now see why this is considered one of the best restaurants in Halifax!

My friend was recommended this place, so we thought we’d start our night here. What an amazing experience from the moment we walked in we were greeted and accommodated considering how busy it was. I really like the atmosphere, the colours, the wood the warmth and design.
The service was next level the best recommendations, drinks made on the spot according to what we were feeling. The bartenders knowledge and service was fantastic.
The food was truly amazing the dumplings were the ⭐️ of the night, we ordered more than a couple orders.
I definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Halifax!

We reserved a table for the Valentine's day and it's above my expectations. The food is uniquely decorated, cooked, and seasoned, reminding me of European and Mediterranean flavors. We even ordered a pork collar to take home and it's delicious! Restaurant layout and setting is warm, cosy, yet chic and classy. Their staff are professional and welcoming. Totally satisfied and highly recommended

I couldn't say enough good things about it. Aside from being a regular customer, we had our post-wedding supper here. The service couldn't have been better, and the food was out of this world. Even our visitors from Toronto said it was as good or better than anything they found in the city. I already can't wait to go back!

Although this isn't the type of place that you stumble across (it's way too special for that), my wife and I happened to find ourselves dining at the Ostrich Club last night. Without a reservation, we sat at the bar, which was absolutely fine. The food was amazing (oysters, brussel sprouts, pasta special, beef short rib and an order of bread) and the bottle of Blomidin Cremant was a perfect accompaniment. Next time, we'll try some of the amazing looking cocktails. And we will be back. Service and atmosphere were as good as the food.

I am writing this review before the bill comes because truely - the cost doesn't matter. Each dish was a star on its own, but here's how I would rate what we had tonight :
#1 Beef Short Ribs - incredible.
#2 Xi'an Noodles - the flavor made me not want to share
#3 Spinach Agnolatti - so comforting but extra
#4 Pork Katsu - super tender and flavorful
#5 Brussel Sprouts - so so good, wish they had been crispier
#6 Luke's bread - so warm and yummy
#7 Beef Tartare - the flavor was really good (but I'm not a tartar girlie)
The dessert also incredible and they had Taylor Swift themed drinks. I had 1989, Lover and Speak Now. This is my new favorite restaurant in Halifax. Servers were wonderful.

THE FOOD WAS AMAZING ! BBQ beef cheek the most tender piece of meat I have ever eaten. It was an unbelievable experience.
The cocktails are out of this world 🌎. XO drink is highly recommend.
I love this place it’s small and cosy yet lively and fun. A great night out with friends or spouses for dinner and drinks.

We went to the restaurant because it was highly rated and weren’t disappointed at all. Super nice service, super delicious and tasty dishes, wonderful cocktails etc. If we would have to add a constructive critic then only that the plates could be changed after each dish in order to avoid the mixture of different sauces and spice.
Highly recommend to go there!

First time at the Ostrich Club and what a wonderful experience. Did not know what small plates meant but every dish we ordered was uniquely prepared to perfection. We ordered 4 dishes and enjoyed each one. Dessert was just as unique. The service was excellent and lovely atmosphere. Bit pricey but worth it. Would definitely go back.

We had a very nice dinner . Good atmosphere and very good service. Food was excellent but portions are smaller and can be pricey. Limited beer selection which would be nice to see expanded. Will likely return to try the lunch menu!

A nice dining gem in the Halifax Hydrostone. Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly service, and good food. Gluten-free and vegan options are available. It was a great spot for brunch!

By far one of the most incredible culinary experiences in Halifax. Having tried many of their competitors I have to say that The Ostrich Club exceeded our every expectation. This restaurant is frequently compared to Bar Kismet but in all regards I have to say that The Ostrich Club is far superior. The service was impecable, the food was a flavour explosion in every bite and the overall ambiance of the restaurant could not be beat. The entire evening was perfect down to the last detail. Highly recommend to any and all looking at trying something new. Our favourites were definitely the beef cheek and the gnocchi. We wish the meal would never end! We will definitly be back soon!
