In the summer there is a lovely beer garden usually with a live band.
And bonus, the beer garden is dog friendly !

I have lived in Halifax for 20 years and this was the first time I was ever in Maxwell's Plum! Very neat bar and fun atmosphere. Great selection of shareable plates - we all enjoyed ourselves! Make sure to check out their drink list too!

Always an excellent watering hole! Didn't have the food this time, but we saw some really nice plates going past our table. Great live entertainment! And the service was outstanding even though the place was packed! Highly recommended!!

The Maxwell’s Plum is definitely a Halifax treasure. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. The atmosphere is outstanding and the food is perfect. Hamburgers are amazing and a perfect place for Sunday breakfast.

Awesome upbeat staff and a new fresh inside The Tuesday steak dinner special looked very special , the club sandwich was underwhelming , but one of the few to serve real Fresh Cur French Fries. So hands down will return.

Food and drinks were good. They were very busy, it took awhile for us to get our sharing plates, napkins and cutleries. I have to go to the serving station to get them myself.

Stopped in for drinks. Staff are so friendly, atmosphere clean and cozy pub style. Party Marty was performing with amazing tunes. Customers singing, clapping, and having a great time. So full of life!! Can't wait to return to Halifax will definitely stop in again. Thank you all for a very memorable evening 💓 Especially the 5 young men sitting at the next table having the time of their life 😊. Definitely a happening spot no matter the age.

Wow- an amazing selection of beer available. Very helpful staff to help navigate the extensive beer menu.
I highly recommend for the tourist and local alike.
The flight options were nice to allow a good survey of the many options of local beer.

Nice and welcome pub in a good location. We went on Taco Tuesday and it’s such a good deal! The nachos are a little bit more expensive but it was very good too.

One of the cheapest places to eat and drink on Halifax. Such a wide variety of food and drink and the quality is exceptional for the price. Always friendly and helpful staff. Recommend! Food is served until 2am too!

I really like Maxwell's Plum!
I went on a Tuesday when they have $3.99 for steak and fries (with a drink which can be a soft drink if you're not into the drinking scene!)
I think an actual foodie would rate this pretty low, but it's a steak and fries for $3.99. It coming out hot on a plate exceeds its price point. C'mon. It's not the best dish I've eaten but it was a whole lot of food for a price that got me out the door for $10 with a tip.
For any other day, Maxwells has a good vibe. It is however, not accessible at all. I'm a physically fit woman and I find the stairs to the bathroom challenging.. so anyone with mobility issue or aids wouldnt be able to enjoy themselves here.

Loved this place. We and members of other choirs went there after an evening at UNISON Choir Festival and had a great time. The karaoke usually finishes at 12 but he stayed an extra hour and some because we were having such a good time. So much fun and the staff is GREAT!!!!
