Such a chill venue with great food and beer. The patio in the summer is awesome and has such a nice view. Great to be on the water and it’s nice not to have to go downtown all the time

My meal was so amazing I am inspired to tell you about my Armview experience!
I am visiting Halifax on business and I am staying at the Chocolate Lake Hotel.I am aware of the Armview because they were recommended as a caterer for some company events. When I found out I was booked in the Chocolate Lake Hotel I was pleased to be situated so close to The Armview because I haven't had a chance to pop in for a meal in a long while.
Tonight, after a long day of work, I ordered take out to bring back to the hotel. I chose the chicken souvlaki wrap with a side of their poached pear spinach salad.
I also got a piece of their coconut cream pie for dessert (diet starts Monday right?).
This meal was amazing. That spinach salad is so delicious, the dressing is just light enough that you could eat a bucket of this salad! The walnuts are fresh and flavourful and the pears, lord have mercy don't even get me started on the pears! The souvlaki wrap was absolutely delicious and the pie was life changing! The cream pie is ridiculous! They cut the pie and then sprinkle toasted coconut directly on the pie, cover that with fresh whipped cream and then sprinkle more coconut on top. The crust is perfect - this pie is amazing!
Also the service, this is actually my second night eating at The Armview (first night with pie) and there is a tall guy with glasses there who is super with your customers!
Anyway, my meal was ridiculous! I can see why your tables are often filled with loyal patrons!
See you tomorrow night (I really wish that pie wasn't so good!)
If you want a truly excellent seafood chowder, this is the place for you. It is Rich with a thick creaminess. But you will have to wait a few minutes for it. They make the fish chowder base ahead but the seafood they add was cooked fresh when you ordered it. It really shows because the scallops and shrimp were not over cooked. It was a wonderful treat. Get the big bowl!

This place is our families go-to for delicious food in a casual & warm environment. They are on point on all fronts: lunch, dinner, weekend brunch & wines & try the home made cream pie!
The best vodka Caeser in the city. The best hot chicken sandwich with mash potatoes I've ever had outside my ma's. The bartender's are pretty nice to look at too� �����

Always the same, great service, good value and the food is is an interesting blend of diner fare with an executive twist. I also like that the place is legit retro...not Pinterest retro.

Went here for the first time last night, I'm disappointed it was the first time. We had great service, great food and dessert to go because we couldn't resist homemade coconut cream pie but were so full. First time I ever had a veggie burger and I was pleasantly surprised at how flavourful it was. My hubby had the Dagwood... What a sandwich paired with house made onion rings that were to die for! We will be back again and again as everything sounded great. Yumm

Really fun atmosphere and great service. Breakfast is standard. They do a solid eggs Benny and their hollandaise sauce is excellent. Homefries are sometimes a bit off; they can be over-cooked/deepfried... Kid-friendly, fun regular spot for the family. Also, it is an excellent outdoor space in the summer.
Update: someone on fryer is crushing it: beautiful golden homefries today (see pic) :)
They’re breakfast is good. Outdoor set up is really nice in the warmer months. There is no parking, except for 3 or 4 spots out back.
Nice restaurant, good service. Food is tasty and reasonable prices. If you like diners or looking for a casual family/friends dinner spot, this is a great place to go. A little hard to get into narrow, small parking area (busy road - take Quinpool to rotary and turn right into lot that only has about 9 spots). Good but small wine selection and reasonable prices per bottle. Food was delicious and fresh, desserts were excellent. Recommend pies and bread pudding. Yum! My parents loved it too. Picnic tables were added outside for summer time eating, fyi.
We’ve just come back home after what we thought was going to be a bust of a night courtesy of our toddler, however, after a rough start she settled and we were able to eat in at the diner. We had a lovely dinner that was even more pleasant because of the staff. We will definitely be coming back for some delicious steak frites and to quote my daughter “super yummy” mac n cheese.
So good! Sat in the dog friendly park and got take out from them because the park part of the restaurant was not serving yet. But the bartender was great and made it easy to order take out. Got the lobster eggs Benedict and the regular eggs Benedict, as well as the creme brulee french toast. It was all amazing!! Highly recommend!
Food is always great and never a long wait. Great drink selection. Between the bar, diner, patio, and new garden addition you have a match for any vibe of atmosphere you’re feeling. To top it off with top notch staff, management, owners, and fair prices… what more could you ask for?
Had a good dinner at the Armview. I remember as a child going into a restaurant like this with my grandmother and it brought back pleasant memories.
I love establishments like the Armview, where everything seems original to the time period it was first opened. These establishments are becoming rare to find.
The Armview is a terrific restaurant and has amazing atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and attentive to their guests. The food was good, made fresh and served hot.
Fantastic experience here! Brought my baby and they were so accommodating. The pan fried haddock was fresh as can be and 10/10 delicious! Can’t believe I’d never been here, will for sure be back asap!

The Armview is most definitely a family favourite… I’ve been here several times and they don’t disappoint, from the quaint decor, friendly staff, and tasty menu you can’t go wrong. As others have stated parking is limited and can be tricky- that aspect is nothing to stop you from visiting this place if you want some reimagined classics. Stopped by the other day and had a lovely brunch.

On a main road so a little noisy during rush hour but with amazing weather who cares.
Food was great and our server really attentive. He suggested the pork gyro special and I was not disappointed. One of the best flavoured gyros I’ve ever had. I wish I was local because I would get that weekly.
Kids chicken nuggets were homemade and tasty.

Starving after a delayed late night flight, I found this highly rated restaurant open. I went to have food if any kind, instead I had such a great MEAL and amazing service from Ellen. I love seafood, and my favourite fish is halibut.
I asked her to help me decide between the sandwich and the fish and chip, and going with her recommendation I had one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had!
The bread, the spread and the halibut all 3 were unbelievable! I would HIGHLY recommend, and ask for Ellen too because she was great! My Caesar salad was light and delicious, and I can’t wait to have it all again.
But next, I have to come for breakfast and have the salmon eggs benny! :) Thanks Armview and thanks Ellen!
Amazing experience here every time. The food is well crafted with fine and creative ingredients. The brunch menu and service with Ellen was wonderful. Had the Coast Guard eggs Benny and the crème brûlée French toast. Perfect Saturday on the northwest arm.

Had a nice visit today at Armview Restaurant and lounge. Staff was amazing and the service was great. I had ordered their fish cakes and sunny side eggs. Fish cakes were pretty good but maybe a little to much sage/summer savory also it seem a little crowded, overall it was pretty good 👍
I would recommend this establishment for a home cooked breakfast 😋. It seemed very busy today and well managed, the servers seemed to have it all under control.
small place with some outdoor seating but right on the loop. Excellent food, excellent portions and service. Tried the chowder, lobster roll, tacos all good. Will definitely repeat.
No parking. You gotta park somewhere else and walk over.
