They were amazing in regards to service and overall style. They made my daughter's birthday a fun adventure and even gave her the cake with candles.
The service was spectacular, and the recommendations were outstanding. The beer samper is fabulously priced. You get the three craft beers for the price of one anywhere else.
The food was well portioned and delicious. Served meticulously to perfection with a sense of pride.
Of all the locations on the block, this is where to dine.
On a side note, my daughter left her $100 sweatshirt behind in the bag we just purchased it in. They put it aside until we came back to claim it.
They provided a great experience and were honest.

Good place for half priced nachos and pub snacks from 4-6. The nachos ($9.50) were layered well with peppers, artichoke pieces and pickled onion, and had a good ratio of cheese to chip and amount of dip (sour cream, refried beans, fresh salsa). 3 Chicken sliders ($8) were tasty but not very filling. Sat outside on the patio and could hear music from The Pint across the street.

Had the classic burger here last night and I loved it! The atmosphere is fantastic and they were always playing music to keep the mood up the servers were quick and very kind I will definitely be coming back to East of Grafton!!

Beautiful decor and a small menu with wonderfully presented dishes. We went during Dine Out and they had two appetizers for $20 and beer on tap for $6. We had enough food for take out. The chicken sliders were great as they were small and juicy. The fish tacos were a bit bland on its own although it looked very tasty. The cheesy pierogis were tasty and came with around 8 pieces. The pork belly bao had super soft bao bun but the filling was just ok. Overall, it was a good experience and it wasn’t crowded for a Thursday evening. The only downside was that a couple of members in the group didn’t feel too well the next morning from the food.

I went to East of Grafton for the "Happy Hour" specials & it was great !
You get a very large size of nachos , like a cookie sheet full & the price was great as they are half price from 4-6 . I also had chicken sliders and some Pork Bao with some coworkers . Everything tasted good .

5 stars because they accommodated us with two kids later in the evening. Beer, burger and nachos were amazing. Wings we good, however, didn't 'wow' me as much as expected when reading the description. Great atmosphere and place to hang out, definitely wouldn't hesitate to go back

Great food and great service. The decor is awesome as well..some very unique finishing touches that gives the place a classy feel. It's both retro and modern simultaneously though I would say it leans more towards the retro look. I love the glasses they serve water in. They have a great beer menu and some great deals on oysters sometimes. Just a pity it doesn't seem like they have much of a happy hour. One would think that would be good for business?

Amazing dinner! They have a great happy hour 4-6 with all apps half price and 2$ off beer & wine! Would highly recommend! The steak was amazing and the fried chicken and Mac and cheese!

Exceptional service, underrated burger, and awesome dining experience
A group of my friends and I went to EOG on the first Friday following patio reopening in Halifax this June (thankfully, we got a table). We really appreciated our server's care, attention, and accommodation. I ordered the EOG burger, which I felt was on the pricey side ($19 - but to be expected for artisanal/gourmet(ish) burgers), but gave it a shot anyway. It was AMAZING and by far, one of the best burgers I've had in a pub around town. It was seasoned well, fries were cooked perfectly, and patty was substantial and juicy (not at all on the dry side). I also ordered the Garden Party, which was so refreshing and beautifully presented. Dessert (cheesecake) was all right; although we wish they had more slices of cheesecake as one of my friends was served/offered tiramisu from the restaurant next door (which he did not enjoy as much as we did the cheesecake!).
Definitely coming back to EOG!

Good drink selection, ranging from beers to rattlers to cocktails, and even a mystery shot (which I would recommend as it was delicious). Sticky toffee pudding left a lot to be desired. Spacious indoor and outdoor space, well-maintained washrooms.

Amazing atmosphere, food, and TOP NOTCH SERVICE! Lunch today after my brother & sister-in-law got married, and honestly? Best choice. We were a party of 8 and were seated at a long table in front of the windows, which was ideal.
Our server, Alex, was the best! Incredibly friendly, super attentive, and played along with my mum's nonsense about the pot de crème. (Alex, I'm sorry. You earned that tip, sugar!)
Speaking of, the pot de crème is to die for. Do yourself a favour and order a coffee to go along with. Served in teacups!
We split the sliders, wings, and patatas bravas for starters - all are spicy, but nothing over-the-top. Wings and patatas were drizzled in crème fraiche which helps keep the edge off. Entrées were varied, with nearly the whole menu represented, and recieved with rounds of happy "MMMMMmmmm!" from everyone. Desserts, again, were a big hit.

We had our wedding reception here in Oct 2018 and the staff (and venue) far exceeded our expectations. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful, from set-up to dismantle. We wandered around downtown Halifax until we were hungry and came across this adorable bar right in time for happy hour. This seems to be a favourite among the locals because they said in a few hours they'd be full with reservations. The cocktails were fantastic and I would definitely come back with friends for dinner and drinks. A great place for a date too.

What a great first impression! We had excellent service especially considering we were heading to Neptune from dinner, they understood our need for timing and delivered. Very friendly, welcoming and relatable. Our server was also great with menu knowledge and offering suggestions. Great menu; not a millions options that are impossible to choose from and really unique without being totally out there. Some of the best fries I’ve had, maybe ever and the onion rings were amazing, crispy batter & crunchy onions! The burger was SO good and honestly we can’t wait to return. I truly loved it and you easily earned each of the 5 stars � � � � �

was in for my birthday dinner a couple weeks ago with 6 friends and my meal was delicious!! i had the buddha bowl...all my guests enjoyed their meals...the service on the other hand was sub-par...the patio was full but inside was not and there appeared to be a lot of staff working that night...it took no time in getting happy hour appies, but the other meals took forever...even a glass of wine took at least 10-15 minutes to arrive...i wasn't impressed

East of Grafton is our most recent favourite - fabulous atmosphere in a tastefully restored Halifax heritage property; delicious food with great healthy choices, huge selection of local brew on tap, super friendly staff and casual, comfortable and inviting environment. We love it; Budha Bowl and beer flights are my favourites.

My wife and I went there for the first time on Saturday night (Feb 18) and we had a great time. The ambience was perfect, music at a conversational level, lighting was moody and the decor very interesting. We had Liyah serve us and she was very helpful with the questions we had and extremely friendly. The food was DELICIOUS!! To start we had the artichoke and roasted garlic focaccia. It came with a garlic aioli balsamic vinaigrette dip, which I could've eaten on its own because it was so good. The focaccia was full of flavour but not one overwhelming. I had the grafton burger was very good, but the biggest comment I have is that it is huge! I thought it was going to be four sliders, but it's four paddies on one bun. I finished it, but it was definitely a challenge. My wife had the buttered chicken and she was very happy, the only knock on it is that it's a little hard to eat pretty. All in all, we would love to go back and try the happy hour.

Last night had the crab cakes, rib beef and for dessert the donuts and “eggs” – Everything was fabulous, waitresses were awesome too !
Others had the wings, mac and cheese and burgers and sundaes ! Just a hint on the burgers….the regular one has 4 patties – order half for sure !!
