Great vibe and cosy space, we had a great birthday dinner for 3 at Studio East. The staff are so easy-going and at the same time, super friendly, attentive and very knowledgable. The food was scrumptious, we loved our bao bun appetizers and dumplings! The Rib meal as well as the Butter Chicken Curry was top notch! Absolutely recommended for a great night out!

Studio east is hands down one of the best restaurants in Halifax! They have a simple but amazing menu all year long and the best extended menu for the summer.
Everything is absolutely amazing every time I go. I always get the bao, they are honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Everything I’ve tried here is always super delicious, every single time 👏❤️

My friend and I had a wonderful dinner here. Our server Julie, couldn’t have been more helpful with suggestions and even gave us a recommendation for PEI where we are headed next. My fried chicken rice bowl was absolutely delicious and my friend really liked her burger. Definitely check it out if you’re in Halifax.

5 + ⭐️ !!! Absolutely an amazing experience at Studio East! We had a group of 7 and fortunately were able to slide in to a table on a Friday night. Our server was absolutely wonderful and helpful. The food was amazing! The vegan options were SO good, I don’t have a photo because I just ate it too fast. I can’t wait to go back when I visit Halifax again.

Just awesome. Have been coming here for years and always have the best time. Guy and Andre don’t do this for a living, they are passionate about what they do and that reflects on the dishes they put out here. Very generous portions and explosion of flavors. Jessica and Sara are always awesome. Can’t wait to go back.

I found this restaurant through curated magazine and what enticed me is their philosophy of using local ingredients, making the food taste superb and aesthetically pleasing. It is indeed spot on, the flavor bursts in your mouth. We had chicken karaage, oh so flavourful. The bao is so good, the chicken burger is the best I ever had in my life and the ramen, wow! As a ramen lover (I've been to Kyoto and Osaka for reference) I give this place a 2 thumbs up for the noodles!!!! The noodles is homemade!!!! I love the noodles. The noodles is the star of the show for the ramen. It's firm and fresh, uses local ingredients and so pretty. Well, take a look at the photos 🤩🤩🤩 it was my birthday so I went all in up to dessert, cheesecake with ube cream on top is spot on and vietnamese coffee creme brulee is soooo silky smooth. This is officially my FAVORITE restaurant in Halifax! Affordable price, delicious food and super pretty food presentation. Amazing works CHEFS! YOUR EFFORTS ARE NOT WASTED!

Such a great place food was amazing Will definitely be back and locally owned and operated, which makes it even better. We had the ultimate pork Ramen bowl. Grilled pork belly bao and the Kong pao cauliflower bowl. All were spectacular.

Really, really great food. My partner and I had the chicken karaage and I had the bulgogi short rib and he had the chicken sandwich with the parmesan fries. Our server was very friendly. Love that they have an iPad with a visual menu, makes choosing the food easier and more fun. Drinks were good. My friend's had the chicken crisps, the Bao that was on special, the burger and the small ramen bowl and raved about how food their food was. Was pleasantly surprised there were so many gluten free options. Will DEFINITELY be back.

Great little hidden gem in Halifax! Any of the boa buns are a great choice & they go the extra mile when plating the food to make it look super cool! Lots of cool cocktails too!
This is a great spot to try something new! They have an interactive menu that shows pictures of everything as well so that helps a lot when venturing away from your normal order.
The staff is always so great!

To say the ramen here is excellent is an incredible understatement. It's more like an incredible flavor-playground: so many complimentary flavors swirling around it's borderline intoxicating.
I also highly recommend the ribs which are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, stacked high with an refreshing slaw (there's a rib night on Tuesday I believe?).
Many of the appetizers are also fun and tasty and reasonably priced if you're trying to do a tapas style dinner. The staff are very friendly and courteous and informed me on my last visit that they were beginning to do brunch on the weekends (which I have yet to check out).
Definitely one of my favorites in the city.

I am a guy so I love wings!!! I am a pilot so have had tried wings in many cities around the world. The wings here are the best I have had. I don't really know what they did to them but it will bring me back.
Num pang Cambodian sandwich is something I would eat every week. The city needs more unique gems like this!!
The owner kindly gave us warm sushi on the house (warm sushi!, I know. I wouldn't order that). It was amazing!
There are many spots in the city that serve beer and pub food (we have been to most). Usually we go to places and go back because of the atmosphere, not the food.
There was live music on Sunday (Paul Lamb) and great food. Owners were great to engage with and service was very friendly.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

My sister and I brought my mom tonight (Sunday) and enjoyed happy hour wine and the AMAZING sounds of guitar player Mark. Topped with our gracious server Jesse, he and Mark made the atmosphere that much better. We ate ALL the apps and loved every one. Can't wait to come back. Please bring Mark back he's exactly what a restaurant wants for soft yet upbeat music!!!

I've been here twice now and the food was quite good both times. However, I found the menu to be overpriced for what you get and was especially appalled to see that I had been charged $7 for a mocktail that was ordered during happy hour in which my fellow diners were charged $5 for their beer and wine. Overall I am very dissatisfied and probably won't be going back any time soon. At least not until I'm not pregnant and can order one of those $5 glasses of wine instead of a $7 glass of ginger beer with a cucumber and lime wedge stuck on the side.

Really pleased to see this place open in our neighbourhood. I have been four times already. Best meal so far was the ramen bowl full of very succulent pork. Main thing for me is the atmosphere and local vibe. I have to say though, that the loud pop music is a real detraction. Last time there we could not hold a conversation without shouting and the music itself ...being some sort of electronic dance pop seemed out of place, especially if they are trying to create a nice intimate neighbourhood feeling. It is so much more enjoyable to be able to appreciate food and conversation together.

We went there sunday night with our toddler. Food and ambiance was great! Our baby loved her ramen. And a special shoutout to our server that night who did an awesome job! His name is JESSE. We can say that he really likes what he is doing and knowledgable about the menu. He even gave my daughter her own bowl and chopsticks for beginners.

Great neighborhood spot to unwind after work. The food is different than any other spot in town and in a good way. Try the ribs on Tuesday, the daily curry bowls or for weekend Brunch, the Fish & Chips. Nothing will disappoint.
