Review Garrison Beer Store - Halifax

This was a great spot right by the cruise port. I enjoyed all of their beers and it was great the seating area was right next to their brew floor where you can see their fermentation vessels and brew equipment. The prices were also very reasonable. More importantly the staff was incredibly friendly! Their artwork for their labels was incredible.

Great selection of beer and other drinks! One of the few breweries that keep a red and a brown ale on tap which I personally prefer. Both were great! I bought a twelve pack to go as well and a couple shirts. Prices were going. The beer tenders were friendly. The bar/walls made out of old shipping containers are pretty neat. If I lived close by I would stop in.

Right off the pier so very convenient to all the cruise ships, this place is large and has a kind of tourist-bro mass production vibe to it. Of course, it was packed with cruise ship tourists so all outdoor tables were taken and indoor tables (open air) were humid and muggy and sticky (not sure when last cleaned). They had a great selection of their crafted beers, which we enjoyed and found to be good quality, at about $6USD each after taxes and before any gratuity. No huge complaints but I would rather walk a little further to a place frequented by locals with a more quaint local vibe.

This brewry is located right by the water with bright signage. There's space to sit outside when the rain is at bay, all roped off to form a patio. Once inside you're greeted by all kinds of signs advertising their beers. They truly take pride in their products and this is clearly understood when you walk in the doors. On the left is their merchandise and coolers where you can purchase some really cool items along with packs of beer and single cans. On the right is their seating area with their taps. Though it's not a large space, I can see multiple groups all sharing the long tables and making new friends. Wanted to try a few of their products, but dinner ran late and I got there for 830pm and they close at 9pm. They had already called last call, was soo close but I totally understood. So I went to their fridge and grabbed just the one can to enjoy for a night cap. Decided on their Pucker Up! Crafty Kettle Sour. Brought it back to my hotel room and enjoyed it with some dessert. Could see myself having a few of these on a patio on a nice sunny day. Hope to get back to Halifax and enjoy one of their flights of beer so as to try more of their selection.

One of the first small breweries to hit the scene in NS! Great location down near the waterfront, an excellent selection of beers, huge space and shop, friendly staff! And the beer is pretty incredible too! Glad I got a chance to stop in while visiting Halifax this summer, can't wait to get back!

One of my favourite brewing companies and a place I’ll always stop in when I’m back in Halifax. Love the seasonal flavours and the staff are always so helpful when you just can’t decide. They have a nice shop to grab beers or merch to go, and an adorable BFF photo wall. My only complaint…. PLEASE bring back raspberry wheat. The only fruit beer I’ve found that isn’t overly sweetened and red. By far the best beer they had on tap. It’s been years and I’m still not over it.

I rarely give 5 stars cuz nothing is pefect so this is a 4.95 stars. Took a red to blonde samplers (because I was on the mood for that) and I loved all 5 of them, with some preferred of course. The staff were busy but very helpful. The ambiance was reel cool and relax for a Friday afternoon. The place is well done located and can't be missed. If you are a beers enthusiastic this brewing shop is a "don't miss at all cost". And if you get there quick try the Oh My Gourd an amber pumpkins ale but hurry it's a seasonal recipe.

The Garrison Brewery was an excellent stop after visiting the Pier 21 museum. The atmosphere was lively and casual, even though it was a quite afternoon. We went there for just a flight of beers but, we ended up having two. The beer range covered almost every palate so, there’s definitely something for everyone. We certainly enjoyed some beers and discovered some favorites. The staff did an excellent job sharing their expertise and giving spot on recommendations. Of course, we tried almost everything!

We found this gorgeous brewery just outside the Port of Halifax cruise terminal when visiting in July 2022. A very freindly local with brewing stuff on display inside, it has a merchandise shop as well for t shirts and souvenirs, the range of lagers and beers was great with some varied flavours, I recommend trying a flight of five first to discover your favourite, mine was the wheat beer! The brewery does not sell food but they allow you to bring food in, there was a pizzeria next door where you can buy food and bring it with you. The staff were knowledgeable and freindly and they do take UsD as well as Canadian dollars.

Fun experience at Garrison. Their sample flights are next level—but be prepared to drink a lot. The staff were friendly and helpful and the beers were tasty. The wheat beer was especially unique and I’m still regretting not buying some cans while I was there now that I’m out of province.

Great place... more than 10 different options for beer. My favorite was the pumpkin IPA. With a cinnamon touch. The staff was warm and fast. They have also a souvenirs store with great products. The only thing is missing is a great food to be perfect! They hust have some snacks

Great service, swag, location and AMAZING beer! We had a good time at Garrison, their beer was cold, decently priced and tasted really good! They offer flight options where you can pick your own flight or go with their suggestion! Make sure to try their stout, it’s fantastic! Will certainly come back!

Great beer and great atmosphere! We got the big flight with 10 different beers. Most of them were great. Obviously, everyone has their own preferences. Garrison is a great place to have some beers with friends.

Excellent beer ! I enjoyed the Deja-Moo stout with lactose. Their patio is great; the staff is friendly and welcoming. They have long flights to try which is a lot of beer. Spacious location near the harbour. .

I knew of Garrison before heading this way and had tried a couple of beers in the past. Went for the full 13 beers flight (shared with my better half). Really good variety of beers, IPA stuff for me and sour and wheat for my partner. Tasty stuff. Friendly staff and cool merch.

Tried their Tall Ship and Irish Red ales at Salty’s and loved it. We saw their booth right after at the Beerfest and loved their Georgia Peach, too. Stopped in to check out their bottle shop to grab some cans for the rest of our trip. Shelves and coolers were stocked - loads of signs up to help you make your pick. We left with a six pack. The fella at the till was really friendly and thanked us for stopping by. You found some new fans in us. Cheers, Garrison Crew 🍻
