My favourite pizza place outside of Italy. I love the wood-burning pizza oven, and the salads are awesome too! Also, props to them for serving wine in tumblers, like real Italians normally do. Try the Stefanie white pizza - it won't disappoint!

Place was packed when we arrived but only waited about 5 minutes for a table. Pizza was delicious! Always a stop when I'm in Halifax.

Best gourmet pizza restaurant in town, for sure. Had the Caesar salad and Amanti pizza. Both were outstanding. I regularly recommend this restaurant to my friends and will definately dine here again and again.
I had a lovely time . The ambience is congruent with the menu . Enjoyed the food and the service was fine.( Helpful suggestions without being obsequious ) .. Piatto is definitely on my list of things to do again .
Another amazing meal at Piatto. Great service from Stephanie. And great food. Their pizzas r still wonderful. Also, a surprisingly enjoyable Caesar salad.

I agree with the previous review: perfect Italian pizza. The crust is amazing and the pizza cooked to perfection. Try the cheese prosciutto appetizer. It melts in your mouth. The accompanying tomato sauce tastes homemade. My server Haley was just wonderful. Her recommendations for both wine and food were helpful and right on. I will definitely be back.
Perfect Italian Pizza!. Loved the atmosphere, good service and amazing pizzas - we ordered 4 different ones and shared around the table - all we're fantastic and different from one another, reminded us of being back in Italy with their style of pizzas. We all opted for desserts instead of aps - all were delish. The server was good and was accommodating of food allergies. Definitely going back!
We went there for our first time and it was such a vibe! The place is very nicely decorated and the service was awesome! We tried their pizza, salad and desserts! Let me say, it was pretty good. If you are craving Italian food, this is a great spot. They use liquid gold olive oil which is great quality olive oil from Italy! They also offer a lunch special in the afternoon on weekdays. Their salad portion was small but they use very good and fresh ingredients. Their pizza was good and thin, but very light on the toppings. I did like their desserts the most. Their mille-feuille is a French dessert and it was so tasty. A must try! We also had their strawberry tiramisu and it was nice, but I wish they had more strawberry and pistachio in there. I barely tasted the pistachio. I would go again, but I wish they would add more toppings on their food.
Tried out the lunch special at the restaurant as recommended by my daughter and it didn’t disappoint. Our server was attentive and a nice wide variety of wood fired pizza selections.
My only comment was the dessert (chocolate mousse) was supposed to be on a sponge crumble and vanilla ice cream but was served in a mason jar.
Otherwise a quaint spot.
Excellent service. We got there just after opening. Our waitress was amazing. She offered some suggestions as this was our first time. The bruschetta was so good, and i know it sounds crazy but you have to try the northeast pizza it has maple syrup on it, but it was so good.

You know how rare it is to see the management take an active role and interest in your experience and comfort when you visit a restaurant? I’ll say almost non-existent until I came here.
I believe I was greeted by the owner who was so nice and sweet. The beautiful location and well thought-out decor puts a smile on your face surely.
For the food, we ordered a Margherita and butter chicken pizza. Being a native of the home of the original butter chicken, I can confirm the taste was extremely authentic. I did get a chance to have a quick chat with the chefs who were really enthusiastic and friendly. Our server Kendra was also super helpful.
This one earned a special spot in my heart for sure. Will be back again soon.
Our server Steve was really good. You could tell he really likes where he works and he shared his opinions on the food. It was very insightful.
The pizzas were amazing, I had mine, the Bacio Siciliano and loved it, the prosciutto with the mozzarella, so good.
Then I had a slice of my wife's, WOW, amazing flavours, the roasted garlic sauce as a base was amazing, but the sliced meatballs with insanely delicious mushrooms stole the show.
Thought we were going to Piatto, but very happy to discover the new place.

Great spot! Very warm atmosphere and attentative service. The new owner ( Vesso ) introduced himself and made us feel at home. I had the butter chicken pizza and my wife went with the Calazone. Both were excellant choices and we each shared a bit of each meal.
I love the wood fire oven pizza from this establishment. The beet salad is equally amazing. The burger week burger was also tasty in 2022. I eat here regularly and have never had a bad experience. Great place to pull up a seat at the bar solo for a drink and apertivo or to go on a date night with your partner. Atmospheric and the staff are over the top friendly. Cannot suggest this place enough.
Edit1: Burger week burger is insane, best I had all week. 2023. Edit 2: Now owned and operated by new management as of 2023_07_07. Still the same vibes for now but with more creative freedom over the food I would think. Down the road the place will be redone inside for a new and refreshing feel. This place is as authentic as it gets in Nova Scotia. I have never had a bad meal here, and I am a repeat customer! The pizza is the best in the province, and so is the tiramisu. I would definitely recommend this place for a formal dinner date or a casual lunch
The finest pizza I've tasted in Halifax. The ingredients are both simple and fresh, the establishment is well-maintained, and I also enjoyed their delicious chocolate mousse!
Ceasar salad and an authentic wood oven pizza was the perfect meal for two with a dessert and latte. A real hidden gem in Halifax.
Popped in for pizza the last day of our stay in Halifax. We loved it. Ordered the bruschetta and the Siciliana pizza. Delicious! The old fashioned wine glasses were a nice touch too.
Edited: Aug 2023: Still 5 stars. We come here every time we’re in Halifax. 4-5 times in the past couple years. Always delicious! This time we had the Arancini appetizer, the Vesuvio pizza, and the Calabrese pizza. All were as delicious as ever.
The pizza was really good. I did feel like I was teleported to Italy temporarily. Service was also very nice and friendly. We were seated close to the ovens, and my husband was boiling from the heat. We asked to be relocated and our server moved us in the air conditioned part of the restaurant without any problems, which we very much appreciated. I would definitely return if in Halifax again.

I came here with my sisters for my birthday party in April, after a recommendation. Walking in, you get a sense of serious business, yet casual and welcoming. You can't miss the large brick oven behind the counter as you step in. There wasn't too many options on the menu, but you definitely want everything you read...LOL. If you are a fan of gourmet and are interested in new ideas you want to COME HERE! There is something for every palate! It is gourmet pizza at it's best! The staff was awesome, friendly, and helpful in explaining the menu and giving suggestions. We ordered the Arancini, Barbabietola Arrostita, The Stephanie, Piadina Carne, La Dolce Vita Burger, Capricciosa + Ananas, and Tiramisù. Every bite of our meals was a 'mmhmmm' and 'wow' affair! It was scrumptious and tasteful! The salad was fresh tasting and you can't stop eating. The pizza! I have no words to describe it's elegance and flavorful state!!! It was flavor on steroids! The next bite is better than the last and you never get enough. You just want to keep going! The portions are large and I had to take out my leftovers which was about three-quarters of my pizza.. LOL. They had a awesome complimenting list of cocktails, wine and non alcoholic drinks. The EXPERIENCE is worth more than what you are paying for sure! It is worth it!!! I definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant.
Incredible (currently festive) atmosphere, super affirming, welcoming staff. We got to enjoy the ScotianAires choir, and enjoyed the Arancini appetizer, Calabrese pizza, and Nutella Pizza for dessert. They also had both cocktails and mocktails available.
The 2nd visit, we got the take home, Heat & Eat pizzas were also delicious and a great option over the holiday break for a quick meal.

The pizza is unreal. As in - best I’ve ever had. Had the arancini and it was filled with the best, perfectly made risotto, melded with amazingly creamy and fresh mozzarella, all in a light, flavourful breading. Crazy good. Even the gluten-free pizza crust would fool anyone. All in all a meal to remember.
The food was so fresh, full of flavour. It was so incredibly delicious I can't stop thinking about. I would eat here everyday if I could. 10/10 for the salads (Caprese & beet salad) 10/10 for the pizzas, the Stephanie and the dolce fumoso and of course, had to get the tiramisu. Heavenly.

My partner and I had the most incredible experience tonight at Piatto! The service, food & drinks were all so beyond expectations! Our server was the sweetest person and you could tell they were so passionate about their job. I fell in love with their Aperol spritz but forgot to take a picture of our pizza! Can’t wait to return.
The food was delicious. The service was excellent. We went to celebrate my friends' anniversary, and they gave us a courtesy liquor shot to all of us.
