One of the best salmon+chowder I have ever had . Amazing food. Atmosphere is great and service is excellent

Stopped in with work friends while visiting halifax. Great spot to relax, eat some good food and try some drinks. Great atmosphere, music is not too loud, easy to carry on a conversation. Staff was very friendly and helpful when selecting meal options. We have some dip, Mac and cheese, pizza and grill cheese. All were great!

All four of us enjoyed our food from the brunch menu, including vegetarian and non-veg options. The atmosphere was great and the server was attentive. We're all so happy that The Goat is back!

New location is awesome! Like it much more than the old location. Was there for late night, vibes were good, staff was friendly and great at their jobs. Music was good, and the late night menu was fantastic - we had the maple bacon burger and the wings, and split nachos. We were way more than happy with our choices! Some of the best pub-sih food I have honestly ever had, and I have had alot! Cant wait to go back and try the chicken n waffle tacos. Thanks for a great time!

Stopped by the Stubborn Goat after a long day of driving and doing vacation things. Conveniently located next door to where we were staying. While it was extremely busy they found us a nice ground level table by the door - good temps on a warm July evening and atmosphere. As busy as they were the wait staff was great at taking time to explain items on their menu and helping with beer choices. Food was great and prices reasonable. Recommended.

I love the atmosphere in this spot. The food is very good, the staff are all very friendly. It gets very busy in there so you may wait a bit for your food and drinks but it's worth it. If you like a good Cesar, try their flight 👌 (delicious)

Stopped in for brunch and to try their Signature Ceasars. We got the French Toast & Mac N Ceas. Both feature a freshly cooked / large portion garnish. Delish! We also tried the Breakfast Carbonara and Breakfast Poutine. Excellent brunch spot and I’d love to go back to sample their larger menu. Fun, pub-like atmosphere, great prices.

Arrived in the middle of the lunch rush without a reservation and a party of three, we were seated within five minutes. Had our food within twenty minutes. Service was very quick and efficient. The inner venue was very rustic. Bathrooms were located downstairs which may be hard for some guests to reach. Lots of interesting local brews on tap and some signature cocktails that were fun to peruse. We had the rosemary poutine, Mac and cheese, along with the basil and fior de latte pizza. Perfect lunchtime portions, very filling. The menu is about exactly what you would expect of a gastropub. The downstairs showcased some of the awards and recognitions the venue has won also.

Beautiful new location! Loved the menu choices and had a great vibe. Really enjoyed the gluten free options! And the drinks are really good too; the Rose Tattoo was a delight!

Forgot to take all my food pictures here. The burgers were great, there were many options when it came to Mac and cheeses. I got a Mac and cheese with pulled pork on top. And the selection of beers was good, learned that sours are very popular in Halifax and I am also a big fan.

We came to the Stubborn Goat Gastropub for lunch a little over a month ago. The place wasn’t busy so, we just walked in and sat on the patio. We had several drinks along with food. We ordered the BEEF TARTARE, LOBSTER MAC N' CHEESE and MUSHROOM ONION BACON BURGER with GYROS POUTINE. Overall, the food was very tasty, rich and quite filling. Also, our waitress was very nice and attentive.

We sat at the bar and Joe served us. He was super attentive and gave some great cocktail recommendations. The food was top notch and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Nice cozy new location. From the time we we're greeted until we left exceptional service! Out of our party of 4 everything we ordered was delicious. We definitely will be back.

Oh man what can I say! Walking in was a great atmosphere, the server promptly showed us to our table and asked for drinks. We had the chefs fries for a starter... And I'd do it again, and again, and again! I had whiskey and maple Mac and cheese and my wife had portebello burger on sourdough bread. 10/10 experience!

Great halifax restaurant, good amount if vegetarian options such as mushroom truffle Mac n cheese (what I had and it was delicious, but could always add more cheese) and a halloumi sandwich. The service was super friendly but a little slow just due to it being Friday and a busier night. LOVED that they kept their Xmas decorations up a little longer, beautiful!

Very friendly staff and excellent food! Highly recommend the lobster Mac and cheese. Great place too if you just want to grab a drink and chill with friends

Upon a friends recommendation I reserved a table for 7 for my birthday at the Stubborn Goat. I and three other girls at the table ordered different types of Mac and cheese, and while they were delicious, I pulled a piece of plastic out of my mouth around the size of a toonie. It looked like torn up piece of a clear plastic container. After politely letting the server know she got the kitchen to make another, but as that was being cooked my friend noticed a piece of plastic in hers as well. Again the server apologized and we assured her it was okay. My second pasta then arrived and I AGAIN found a smaller piece of plastic in my pasta and at that point I realized ALL of their Mac and cheese was contaminated with shards of plastic. Unfortunately that wasn’t even the worst part of the meal... what was shocking was how the staff dealt with serving us plastic in not only 1, but 3 dishes. For starters they neglected to remove the other possibly contaminated pastas from the other girls at the table. Then we get our bill and Instead of giving us our replacement meals for free, or what should have been our entire meal for free, they decided to remove the sangria we’d ordered off the bill that was split by four people. That didn’t help much since my share for the sangria was $7 and the pizza was $17.. I had to explain to the server I was not paying for my meal, and when they took my food off the bill, they never did the same for my friend in the same situation. Seems as if they were more concerned with the money they were about to make off us than our opinions of their restaurant.

Not the place for a family lunch. Friendly, helpful staff was why it's a three star. Very tiny portions for the cost. Kids meal sliders $8 - only one bite size slider was disappointing, would have expected a couple at least. Everyone left hungry. $55 for small salad, three kids meals & water.

Party of 9, celebrating 5 family members' birthdays made reservations for last night at 6:30. We called days ahead. When we arrived staff had no record of our reservation. Staff were very flippant, like "oh well, stuff happens". No trying to fit us in. Nor did we get an apolgy. Luckily we found another restaurant around the corner we could have our annual birthday celebration at. Very poor customer service. Cannot recommend.

I visited Halifax for work and walked here because of its proximity to my hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by how great it is. I walked in on a whim and their food and beer selection was incredible. I would suggest this place to anyone in/around/visiting Halifax.

First time at the Stubborn Goat and I will absolutely be back next time I come to Halifax. Seated immediately upstairs, friendly service, good atmosphere and great decor. Food was timely and the social dining concept is a first for me, but thoroughly enjoyed. Beer selection was excellent as well, anyone that leaves a negative review has expectations I don't believe any restaurant in the city would meet. Check this place out!

Awesome food and drink. I ate the Hellfire burger and it is the first food item I have had bearing the name "hellfire" that I could easily detect any spiciness. It was awesome. We also shared the pork with butternut squash gnocchi with sage prosciutto cream. The gnocchi and prosciutto cream were the best I have ever tasted. Next time I'm in Halifax I'm returning to The Stubborn Goat.

The roasted veggie salad is amazing and the patio is a great place to people-watch. Service is attentive and efficient. Fun atmosphere ...will be back :)

Went there last night with some friends from out of town. Between the 4 of us we split Queso Fundido, Heirloom Carrots, Meatball Sliders, Bacon Mac&Cheese, The Stalone Pizza, and Fried Chicken Sandwich with Fries. Service was wonderful and we got our food within 30 minutes of ordering. We had a few beers and I had 2 glasses of wine, one New Zealand and one Italian. They were both incredible. Everyone was very happy with the food and service and the drink selection was the best part of the entire experience for me. Highly recommended.

For sure one of my favorite places in the city for any meal! And they have a stellar beer list, which is more important to me than good food.

1st time at this establishment and we really enjoyed it. We hsd meals to share and it was yummy. Waitress was very sweet and helpful. Will highly recommend to any of my NL friends who come to Halifax!! Cheers Plus i love the name of this place!!

If you're running a seat yourself restaurant perhaps don't hire such rude sassy staff. I came in with friends looking for a nice brunch and as we went to sit the waitress told us we could not sit where we wanted or anywhere for that matter and then made us go stand in a corner. If you've booked so many reservations that you need to start delegating where people sit in your seat yourself restaurant please put a sign up. We did not stay. Sorry we bothered you with our business.

Service was great, the food sharing menu offered some great choices . Great atmosphere and lotus of great beer.

great place but did not realize we were on a time limit.. until server said we had to leave so as another party was waiting for our table.. maybe this was due to the holidays..
