Review Eliot & Vine - Halifax

Such a wonderful happy hour (and onwards) experience! We had wonderful service all night. We enjoyed the oysters so much that we ordered a third set! Happy hour oysters is a bit funny- you get 8 oysters for one dollar each for each appetizer/main that you order. So 8$ for 8 oysters with a food purchase. There is also a sparkling, red, and white wine option for 6$ during happy hour instead of 9$. We had 24 oysters, charcuterie plate, gnocchi and a burger and it was all really delicious. I will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience here! Came for their happy hour and enjoyed $1 oysters with our order of a charcuterie board. Limited selection of wine and beer was available for $6 for happy hour. The food was delicious and the server was very attentive, we asked for extra crackers for the charcuterie board and she provided them promptly! Would definitely recommend to friends and family!

Overall good experience, the dish I had could have been a little warmer. That being said I would like to come again and try another dish. The brussel sprouts were the bomb.

We went to Eliot and Vine for the first time for my birthday supper. The atmosphere, the food, the service, and the overall experience was incredible! The brussel sprouts are worth writing home about Lol but truly it was a lovely evening and we will absolutely be back!

I love this place more and more every time I go back! I often find myself loving a dish at a restaurant and then reordering the same one each time I visit... however everything at EV is so delicious that I love switching it up ! (Except the blueberry "cheesecake" - that's a staple) Love everything about this place. Can't wait to try brunch.

We went early to take advantage of Happy Hour and are glad we did. It wasn’t busy so the server was very attentive. We enjoyed delicious Buck a shuck oysters from Pristine Bay and $6 margaritas to start. Then I had the tuna tartare and fries while my husband had the halibut. We were both very happy with our choices. Hope to go back soon!

Service was excellent and the dessert cake was amazing! Found the fish a bit underwhelming but the atmosphere was cozy and I'll def go back and try something else next time.

Great local spot with a nice vibe. Seems to be a place to frequent for locals like a go to spot vibe . Cozy chairs and great food presentations and their shuck a buck deal during happy hour is amazing . Sadly the time we ordered oysters there weren't shucked fully and a bit mangled. All tasted the same though . The bread for the steak tartare was a bit too overpowering for my liking. You could really taste the steak though. The tuna tartare was good, definitely more like tuna sashimi with toppings though.

I went to Elliot & Vine right when they opened on a Saturday night with a date. We decided to try a few courses over the 3 hours we spent there. I've eaten at almost every restaurant in Halifax and tonight's meal was second to none. Big thank you to Chef Madill and the staff at Elliot & Vine for the great night.

Honestly it was amazing. The risotto balls and steak with risotto is a must. Best meal I’ve had here in Halifax, felt like we were in Europe with the quality of food.

What an incredible first experience at Eliot & Vine! The staff were amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, and appreciative of all patrons being there. Extensive lists for wine, beer, spirits, etc. with local options available. We all chose the Dine Around menu (February is Dine Around month where participating restaurants offer prix fixe menus at a set price) and loved every bite! From the Ceasar salad with homemade dressing to the main dish choice of either the house-made pasta or the perfectly grilled medium-rare steak frites (both of which are menu regulars at this establishment), to the perfect dessert to end the meal, this dining experience was one of our favourites from start to finish. We think we just found our new dinner spot in Halifax! Worth noting - as we were seated, the regular menu, which we were all considering ordering from over the Dine Around menu, changed. The menu was updated and reprinted beautifully on the fly to represent a new cut of lamb that had just been delivered. This spoke to us of the high quality and the thought that the management and staff of Eliot & Vine put into their business to include fresh, local ingredients in their dishes.

Best restaurant in town! Phenomenal food and atmosphere. Great prices for the top notch quality of their ingredients. Even the basics like the EV Caesar bring that wow factor. The house-made pasta never fails to impress! Do yourself a favour and try it out!

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was very tasty! Found the portions to be on the smaller side.

This is currently one of my tops place to eat in Halifax. The vibe, the food, the service, the drinks…all of it. The staff know how to make sure you have a great dining experience. It’s a lot of fun if you can get a spot at the bar!

Delicious. Great food. We love this restaurant; we can count on an excellent experience every time. We keep coming back. Edit: It's also great place to have a conversation and catchup with friends, intimate environment and not loud at all. When we are on our way to a show they are reliable to helps us meet our time frame.

Great steak and fries. However, the steak is only 6oz, so not enough for someone hungry. The restaurant is pretty casual.

Love this place!! You can tell there is a lot of care put into the service and food, our servers were amazing and very attentive. We tried many menu items and all of the dishes were amazing! Such a gem in the north end :)

Wow!!! Go to Eliot & Vine! Casual yet comfortable but seriously go for the amazing food (menu) and staff! It will all have you coming back for more. Let loose and have some fun! The next time I go will be on a Thursday for live music jazz night!. They have a unique menu from roast hen to steak; from lobster risotto to sword fish; from lamb to haddock and plenty more like their infamous pork belly start. I had it and I don't think I'll be able to order anything else for a start even if I wanted to! Where else can you wear your jeans but have edible flowers in your dish to make your meal look beautiful? It's definitely an experience you have to have.

Risotto was done to perfection. The swordfish melted in your mouth the crabcakes we're out of this world. The Ev tossed salad with creme fresh and shoots of spruce was creative with hidden gems of flavor. I real gourmet experience The desert was Ok the mint was overpowering. Jesse our host was fantastic and Lachlan the master chef was gracious and humble and came out for a chat. We will definitely be back and we definitely recommend it

The menu was small but had good variety and the food definitely didn't disappoint! Very impressed with the creativity of the dishes and the best part is it wasn't just trendy and "look what we can do" it actually had amazing flavour! Never so satisfied with chicken! The service of the waitress/bartender was great and loved her choice of music. Can't wait to go back; this is a great neighbourhood spot! ☆☆☆☆☆

So many 'upscale' restaurants in rural regions bring the idea of upscale urban dining... and the prices. But they seldom deliver the magic. Eliot & Vine is brilliant. Simple. Good food. We had the steak, the chicken and mussel starter. All excellent. The environment puts me in mind of Bleecker and Broadway or any number of well thought-out spots along the Cote d'Azur. Lot's of places bring the pretense downtown. This place delivers the goods uptown. An interesting bit - we really liked the kind of soft golden light of the place. A nice notable difference from the new blue light of CF or the often dreary darkness of faux-chic dining.
