Holy shit. I always say that you can only get amazing poutine if you go straight to Québec, but he brings his curd right from there!! His (vegetarian) gravy is perfect and his fresh in-store cut fries are always crispy deliciousness. Can't believe I would ever eat poutine any where else ever again in Southern Ontario, worth the drive. (Not gluten free gravy, unfortunately!)

The best. The poutine is sooo good. Their fries are especially tasty under all that gooey goodness. That's all there is to say.

I would say as an American, my poutine palette is not as refined as I would like but here is at least a first taste impression from the other side.

First, just an FYI for Americans, this place takes Visa and cash only (American currency accepted but no mastercard). Second, order the Quebec Poutine for the Canadian classic that comes with the standard fries, gravy, and cheese curds. Third, a large is a good size for sharing. Finally, poutines have thin gravy and cheese curds. Ordering poutine that comes with shredded cheese is ordering a knock off.

The subtle intermingling of gravy, potato, and curds completely threw me off guard. Somehow I expected salty fries with robust gravy and cheddar like curds but my expectations were not met in the most wonderful way. The thin gravy is where the bulk of the flavor shines through in the most delicate yet satisfying style. The cheese curds have a soft, chewy texture with all the gentleness of a slightly salty mozzarella. The slight ooze the curds starts to develop upon the hot gravy is eye candy. There is nothing particularly special about the fries alone but it certainly is a team player in the flavor trio.

Poutines are not the end all be all but like chili cheese fries they are hearty, comforting, and oh so satisfying. Just a cultural experience everyone should have.

I'm not sure what's better; the pouting or the friendly service? Ok, the poutine. Delicious and featuring vegetarian gravy.

Excellent food. Lackluster dining area but most people take to go. Super nice guy. Massive portions. Fresh cut fries and a fanatic gravy.

The poutine is amazing with delicious gravy and plenty of yummy cheese curds. My husband is from Quebec and he agrees that it's delicious. It's great to take home and enjoy. However, the restaurant itself is probably not the best place to enjoy your food. Also, if you are getting toppings for your hotdog or poutine, just watch for fruit flies that are trapped inside some of the containers, like the chopped onions, so you can avoid them. Despite these minor issues, we will continue to order the poutine here, so tasty!

I haven't yet developed any criticisms towards Guelph's second favourite poutine place. Although very different than its critically acclaimed neighbour Smoke's, Pierre's Poutine proves to be consistently excellent quality while providing more unique flavours than most similar restaurants in the downtown area. If you've become bored with the classic curds and gravy covered layman's poutine, try a more exotic take on the classic dish at this particular location.

My son and I were there last night and really enjoyed our meals. My son got the burger combo with poutine and I got the beef and onion poutine. The gravy was full of flavour and the cheese curds were great! We'd go back. Just wish the tables weren't bar height. Nowhere to put your jacket or purse....

It's a very good, typical poutine. The cheese curds didn't squeak when I went, but they were fresh nonetheless. The extra bacon didn't have that much extra bacon on it, but maybe I should have ordered a small instead of a large... that thing was huge, I which they had a 'medium' size option.

Best poutine in Guelph. It's the closest to good Quebec-style poutine, but they also have many other varieties. Their burgers are home-made and fantastic, too.

I’m from Montreal. Pierre’s is the real deal for a steamie and Pepsi fix. The poutine is excellent. Delicious fries, savory gravy and REAL cheese curds. Authentic!
