A great place for cheap eats, you get a good amount for what you pay for; and they have vegan options! This business is the only place in the downtown core where I've had fresh mango lassi and it was delicious. The menu signs are simple, clean and easy to read. The place itself is nice and quiet with friendly staff who make nearly everything by hand. It's a hidden gem of downtown, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for good cheap eats!

Delicious, fresh, and authentic! This is becoming our go-to spot in downtown Guelph. The food is always on point and the owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. Chicken shawarma is fantastic and the butter chicken is creamy and flavourful. Great spot.

After many years of having graduated from the University of Guelph, I once again found myself at the infamous intersection Macdonell and Whyndam at 2 AM after a night of carousing. I decided to go back to my roots and treat myself to a samosa and chickpeas at Tangy and Tasty. This was a dish I used to eat early on in my bar career as I aimed to incorporate plant-based foods before I was vegan. In those early years I had built somewhat of a relationship with the owner who was still there! Not only did she recognize me, but she also even remembered my name. It felt like I travelled through a time machine to 2016. The samosa and chickpeas tasted as delicious as I remembered, one of the healthier dishes you can eat to help launch the hangover recovery before you go to bed. Excellent value for your dollar...beers

Best Place, hands down, for Shawarma!! Their price and overstuffed wraps are full of flavour and loads of protein! The owners are so friendly and it’s worth just going to see them as they brighten your day and fuel your belly!

Our of the many options for food in this area I took a chance on Tangy & Tasty and I am glad I did! I was served by great people in a timely manner and I love that they focus on a compact menu so you can be sure they are good at what they do. I got the Chicken on the Rocks (chicken and rice) which came with garlic sauce on top and I chose to go with the hot sauce as well (careful! this isn't sriracha you are dealing with!). I had gotten used to the bland versions you get at places like Lazeez but I was blown away! Great portions of high quality chicken that was flavourful by itself but the sauce took it to the next level! You have to try it! Generous portions, amazing taste, reasonably priced and great service in a sea of boring corporate chains is what this place is and you will be glad you tried it😍

Great local place to eat i highly recommend. The place is small and cozy and the food is very tasty and decent price for the big portion. When you start eating here you never get full. I will definitely keep coming here the owner is nice and has been running the shop for 10+years. This really is a Great place to grab a quick bite it only takes 3 minutes to make one the things that i post a picture of and its very warm and delicious.
