I had the most amazing service at Planet Bean on Grange in Guelph last night. I accidentally dropped a teapot and shattered it in the middle of a business meeting (awkward!) and the two staff were so kind, helpful and truly friendly that I could not believe it. If you are looking for a genuinely welcoming and comfortable cafe experience I highly recommend this place, definitely will be back.

Following a feature story in The Globe and Mail and the report that JJ Bean is voluntarily extending Ontario's new minimum wage guarantee to it's BC café staff, I rearranged my schedule to visit the St Clair Ave, Toronto location. I got a warm welcome, a thorough introduction to the brew-menu and an extraordinarily great cup of coffee. It didn't hurt that the graphic on the take-out cups is reminiscent of my home town or that a blend named "Railtown" seemed brewed especially for me! Memo to The Palmerston [hometown] Railway Heritage Museum; you need to add this stuff in the gift shop.
