I was really impressed with the quality of the food and the really nice people that work there. It was a bit tricky to find as it was in the farmers market, but once you find it you will enjoy.
Took my two boys out for lunch to this place as they had never heard of it before my suggesting to try it out, glad we did!
It is located in the Grande Prairie Farmers Market building. We all ordered the combo of 3 Tacos, fish, pork and beef.
The shells are made fresh and the ingredients were fresh too. All and all it was a great lunch although a little on the pricey side!
This place is my FAVORITE!!!! The food is so delicious! The tortillas are rolled out right in front of you from a dough & everything is so fresh! I love how non-presumptuous it is. Rather than making things fancy & formal, they make really good food. I'd recommend this place to everyone!
Oh & of you haven't before, try the fish torta! It's the best!
Best tacos in GP. Stopped in one evening. Place was quiet but don't let that scare you away. If you like Mexican tacos this is the place. Made from scratch in front of you and very delicious.
Love the tacos. The tortillas are the bomb. I have two complaints:
1) I noticed a bottle of cleaner hanging right beside the take out boxes
2) the chick with all the piercings had a major attitude with my boyfriend over some extra cheese
I'll be going back though! Would like to see those improvements at the farmers market location however!
Best fish tacos I have ever had! Friendly service with a smile. I love how everything is cooked fresh right in front of you. Wasn't the first time there and most definitely won't be the last!! Highly recommended

I go to El Norteno when I'm missing home. (That's right tacos are my comfort food!) I'll admit I'm more of a Tex Mex taco kinda girl and this place is more California Baja but in a pinch this is the closest I can get. I like the fact they use fresh ingredients and make things in house.
I feel ridiculous for not coming here sooner, my time at the farmers market is limited these days. A small taco stand located in the food court of the GP farmers market, boasts a small menu, selling hand made soft corn tortillas, topped with fire grilled beef and pork, deep fried fish, or bean. Very authentic tasting, nice flavors, with moderate price. Would highly recommended as far as mexican in this city goes.
Have been hooked on these tacos for the past two years now! I go every week, every summer and never regret my decision! The veggie tacos are a must and I've been craving them ever since I moved out of the province, no one does tacos as well as El Norteno!
AH-MA-ZING! Gluten-free AND Vegetarian/Vegan Options.. This place is so delicious, I can't even believe it, I want to go back for more! I had the Veggie Tacos and they were so good, I wanted to go back for my next meal the same day. Awesome prices $13 for 4 handmade corn tortilla tacos. So, so, so, so tasty. Their hot sauce is super spicy and delicious. I'm going back today. All I can say is "Wow".
