Review Sesame Cuisine Asiatique - Gatineau

The restaurant just opened its doors again and the atmosphere is lovely. I loved the feeling of being surrounded by plants. Food is delicious and service amazing. Prices are also affordable so that you can enjoy family dinners often.

Went for lunch at 2:30 with my girlfriend. The service was very prompt and friendly, it also wasn't peak hours so we did get more attention and quicker service. The atmosphere was very calming and had a good layout. I ordered the wonton soup as well as the General Tao Chicken. The soup was amazing and I did get quite full with just that. The genera Tao chicken was okay. The chicken was dry & chewy with not a lot of flavor. I did ask for more sauce which helped. I would come back here in the future to try another dish. To add on, if you like coffee, I highly recommend ordering one. It was smooth and tasted great.

Ambiance: Great, by the time we left, this place was very busy. The lights are dimmed which really adds to the mood. They do have booths along the wall which provide a more intimate setting. Service: quick, despite it being busy, we did not feel rushed. Food: Bao Burger - Spicy mayo. I really enjoyed this, the crispy chicken breast wrapped in bao bread. The spicy mayo is what adds great flavor tot his dish. Chicken Pad Thai - enriched with the Pad Thai sauce, this was very flavorful. There was ample amount of peanuts on top. The rice noodles were cooked to perfection.

Good was very delicious! I had driven by it multiple time and I finally decided to have a peak. Was not disappointed! I had the 5 course meal with several drinks and was an amazing night. Live DJ was there the ambience was calm and the staff was awesome. You know when you can pack a reasturant on a Wednesday it's a good place to go.

I loved the food and the service was great! The interior and the music create a lovely vibe. It’s 26,5 C which is very comfortable and nice in the autumn!

Very good food and very generous portions. Our server was awesome. Very welcoming and friendly customer service! Glad we had a chance to stop in. I had the Orange Gochujang and wife had the shrimp pad Thai. Amazing!

AWESOMENESS IN A BOWL we dropped in without a reservation and got seated right away...really nice ambience...they had a DJ on duty playing EDM, which I would have to say is not my first choice for casual dining music We ordered cocktails and were quite delighted with the presentation and taste of our drinks... We took pork dumplings as an entree and they were, quite frankly, awesome...our main courses were the General Tao chicken and the Orange crispy beef...amazing...not JUST amazing...but amazingly amazing...in every category...taste, texture, presentation...all off the scale of greatness Our server, why do I always forget the name, she was delightful...attentive and discrete, great displayed knowledge of the menu A lot of times after eating Asian, we get that over full bloated feeling...not so here...we even had room for dessert...the Chao Bao...which was sheer delight...my partner does not normally do dessert, but she shared in the yumminess I totally recommend Sesame...its hip trendy and a pure delight to the taste buds

I have come here a few times and the food is always excellent. A really comfortable and casual restaurant. Well decorated. Definitely going back.

The food has always been good and flavourful. Since the reopened to a bigger space their price went up. Still a excellent option for healthy food in the area.

Great little place for great Asian fusion kind of experience. Service was friendly and quick for lunch with a good selection of specials (haven’t tried supper yet). Located in a strip mall so parking is free and available.

The ambiance, cleanliness, and friendliness of the staff will definitely encourage us to go back. Highly recommend.

We arrived at Sesame and the atmosphere was amazing. I had the Teriyaki Shrimp and my Aunt had General Tao chicken. They were very tasty. The portions were big. The server was very helpful with us. I would recommend this place!

Je suis allée récemment pour un 5-7 jeudi - les cocktails sont extraordinaires! Je suis retournée pour dîner. La tartare au saumon est la meilleure en ville! Le service était A+! Vraiment une belle place et ambiance!

Excellent resto! Nous avons dégusté un excellent lunch ce midi! Cari rouge, un verre de vin blanc, thé et dessert, tout était délicieux! Service exceptionnel également dans un trèsbeau décor!

Nous sommes allés déguster un excellent repas avant le spectacle Bon Jovi à Ottawa le 7 mai dernier! Gabriel, notre serveur, nous a offert un service hors pair et que dire des excellent drinks sans alcool! Enfin un restaurant qui ne pénalise pas ceux qui, comme moi, ne boivent pas d'alcool! Ils créent des drinks vraiment divins, qu'ils soient avec ou sans alcool! Pour la bouffe... C'est juste génial! La poutine général tao au tofu m'a renversé! J'y retourne dès que je peux! Je recommande fortement!!!

Superbe première expérience lors de l’évènement pré ouverture. La bouffe était très bonne et les serveurs des plus sympathiques. J’ai goûté pour la première fois à de la crème glacée au sésame et c’était divinement bon! Chapeau à toute l’équipe et bonne continuité!

Why is it so hard to get my general tao chicken with chicken fried Rice? I finally get it And its all in the same pot doesnt even faste like general tao chicken !

Wow. Never experienced this before! I was asked to leave because I was eating the meal that I just ordered from them in the “take out” area. This is despite nice couches and bucket chairs with coffee tables and side tables. Funny thing is most “take-out places including the pizza, Subway and Shwarma place in the same mall allow people to eat their meals in house.

J'y vais de temps en temps après le travail avant de retourner chez moi car c'est rapide et différents que les autres restaurants du plateau. C'est très chers par contre. Par exemple, 8 petits dumplings pour 11$. Bref, si vous avez le temps, allez sur Somerset à Ottawa.

Very bad customer service and the management is clearly delusional about people's integrity. These restaurants are dime a dozen and they don't understand good customer service keeps them from going under.<br/><br/>Ordered food and was very specific about our vegetarian needs. My son drove to pick it up from Chelsea. When he returned with the food, the food had meat. At which point I threw the food out because we have never had meat in the house and I was grossed out by it. Called them and told them what had happened and they said 15 mins and they will have the proper order ready. My son gets there and the manager tells him they are not going to do anything about it. I called back and the manger blames me ( the customer) and says I didn't order vegetarian ( vegetarian from birth) Then she says we didn't bring the food back and to which I said it is in the garbage and I have no problems picking it up and sending it back to them. To which the manager replies and says we can't help you. WOW!!!!!<br/><br/> I know way too many people in the area and will be making sure this story is heard. It is a matter of principle. All of my friends and acquaintances are aware we've been vegetarians thus far and wouldn't appreciate this kind of customer service.<br/>Have travelled the world and have never had such a horrible experience! <br/><br/>Well, atleast we learned something today. We learned that there are enough restaurants in town that are reputable and have good food and I would rather pay more to get what I want and grow a business with integrity!

Ah Sesame! Petite place genre food court, avec sushi et thai, meilleur que Thai express et autre thai du genre... Plus cher parcontre! 2$ plus cher par assiette... Mais j'ai tendance à dire que ça vaut la peine! Avant une soirée au cinéma, c'est génial! La combinaison Sushi et Thai est parfait pour ceux que leur conjoint ou conjointe ne mange pas de sushi! Pas de service au table! Très rapide!

Amazing delicious and fresh! Definitely happy I stumbled upon this place! I will be boycotting the thai zone for this place from now on. The food was really great portions. On the little more expensive side for take out- but good over all. My only complaint was that the Tom Yum entree size soup did not come with any noodles. When I asked them about it they said the other sizes have the noodles. Had I known it didn't have them I would have chosen something else, but over all it was a nice find and happy to go back!

Sorry for the people from the Ontario side but Sésame does not do in the all you can stuff so don't mistake bad food and quantity!

Worst "thaï" food ever and way too expensive for a mediocre food. Chicken taste like it was frozen. Sauce taste less. Wont go back for sure

Vile. I only ate here because I was in the area and there were two decentish reviews and a pretty good rating. Honestly, this was one of the worst Asian restaurants I've eaten at. The food is not only bland and tasteless but greasy and can only be considered fresh if you mean fresh from the freezer. Not only is the food awful but it's completely overpriced too. Pay $11-13 for a main course which are normal restaurant prices for counter service and food quality that is worse than even mall food Asian (yes, it's that bad). I have no idea why anyone would recommend this place.

I think it doesn't have much flavour in the food. The decor is pretty nice but that's about it. We had 1 spring roll, it had mostly lettuce and tiny shrimps ... for 3,75$! We also had 2 basil chicken which was suppose to be the most spicy they have (3*). We had to put tons of hot sauce to reach an acceptable level of heat. It's a fast-food-asian-fusion kind of thing for people on the go. I rather eat at thai express for cheaper and tastier food.

I love sesame!! The food tastes so fresh and has amazing flavour! My only problem with it is that it's a little small on the portions.

Very good food. Had the General Tao chicken plate, the Peanut chicken plate and two fresh spring rolls. Everything was excellent and the service was very good. We will definitely go back and often too! What a great discovery!
