My first time trying today. Poutine taste great, not underfried as McD or overburned as Harvey's. It was just right. The fish tasted great, Tartar souse, not sure if it is made there or from the store, tastes not strong on the ingredients, just as I like. Fish is fried, not soggy. Chicken burger was good, fulfilling, spicy (I had Buffalo). Will be back to try more menu options.
This is the best poutine in the region. We have tried a lot of places, nothing comes close. We have been there 5 times now, 5 times it was great!

Fast, Delicious Food, lots of Tables and a Good Variety of Meals to choose from. Burger Platters, Smoke Meat Platters, Club Sandwich Platters etc. Family Size Fries and Poutines as well. Breakfast is also Served Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Coffee Refills at Breakfast are also Free. Breakfast Selection is quite extensive.
Usually very good food haven't had to wait too long and even when I do I don't mind because the food is delicious. Although yesterday I ordered a wrap that had what appeared to be two chicken strips in it and I was half way through when I bit into a bone and could not finish the rest of my meal. I looked past the fact that my wrap was not the caesar wrap I had ordered but I can't look past a bone that could have caused some damage and been very dangerous had I swallowed it. Will still be eating from here of course! Just a note to be more wary when preparing your meats :)
Perfect little diner / takeout shack. Been ordering delivery for a few months and it was always great. Went in person and it was super clean, and staff were sweet and friendly. Portions are generous and the price is so low! They are the best fries I have found in 10 years of searching Ottawa/Gatineau, please never change them!!

The poutine was incredibly delicious, with tons of gravy and cheese curds. The customer service was excellent! I would definitely go again.

Since Brian and his wife took over as the new management it has been like the old times, great food and the inclusion of good breakfast. It has returned to the best aylmer has to offer.

The Snack Shack is a place I've been coming to for almost two decades now. They've had their ups and downs, but they work hard to provide good customer service. Any time I've had a problem they've made it right.
I'm a simple person, i like my hot dogs, i like my poutine, and that's my go-to order. My biggest complaint is that when i ask for an all-dressed hot-dog, it comes with ketchup. Literally my biggest complaint about this place. They make my favourite poutine in the area. And now that they make crispy buffalo chicken poutine, i have no reason to go elsewhere anymore.
So if you like simple and delicious, this is a good place. They recently started breakfasts, and they definitely have some good choices. I love stopping here for a western sandwich combo whenever i have the chance, very satisfying and better than the local fast food breakfast options.
