Review Lucky Inn Restaurant - Gatineau

Marie-Eve Giguère
Nice family owned business conveniently located close to home. Kind and polite service. Overall satisfying food but nothing to rave about. The open ended egg rolls are delicious, the gyozas and fried rice are good but the sweet and sour pork and the Cantonese Chow Mein were a bit bland to our taste.

The guy at the front recommended a noodle dish spicy lo Mein I think. Was the best recommendation as it was exactly what I was craving. Good amount of spice but not overwhelming. My husband always orders the general tao and swears it's the best in the Gatineau area.

I have been ordering with them for YEARS (pre-pandemic, pandemic and post pandemic) Wonderful people, great food, generous with their portion sizes <3 Thank you so much for always being our great go to for Chinese food.

Have been ordering takeout here for 40 years. The place has changed hands a few times but these last few years under new ownership have just gotten better and better. Fast service, delicious food, friendly staff. A local fave for sure.

Best fried rice you’ll get at a takeout. Looked everywhere for fried rice this good and nothing beats Lucky Inn. Good service and friendly staff.

The food was very delicious, one of the best fried rice i've ever eaten in my life. That being said, the guy behind the counter was so rude for no reason. If you read this, try to smile a bit because your food is actually tasty.

Delicious food! We stopped by on our way from Kingston to Mont-Tremblant. Zomato shows that a lot of restaurants were closed at that time. I called several and eventually found Lucky Inn was open. It was pretty late when we got there. The restaurant was busy but they got our food pretty fast. The lady was very helpfully, trying to make it easier for us to eat in our car, since no dine-in was allowed due to Covid. The food was very good! We like all the dishes we ordered! They gave us a discount for that we can’t dine-in and have to eat in our car, and also gave us a free rice. Definitely recommend. We will come again on our way back!

I.ve been going to this restaurant for over I think its 30 years now. I have to say as a family run business the place rocks. No its not beautiful inside but it is clean. The main reason I have gone there time and time again is simple the food is absolutely amazing. Chicken on a hot iron plate is nice and spicy like I love it. Their egg rolls are really difficult to beat. Believe me i have tried and it does not matter if I lived in the east end of Ottawa in Orleans for a while I still found myself going back to Lucky Inn for their food.

Now mind you if you are in a hurry to get your food this is not a fast food joint. No it takes time to get everything prepped and ready for you so if you are thinking of Chinese take out expect to wait a while before going to pick up your order. Unfortunately the owner Chef is close to retirement and that means that no one will be taking over the restaurant. I dread the day when I see a sign that say's closed.

It must have been a bad night. We came here after the Gatineau Air Show with two tired and hungry little girls in tow. Service was slow and indifferent, food was overcooked, served just warm, and bland for the most part. I can't speak for my friend and her daughter, but I doubt my family will be back.

Un vrai bon resto Chinois !. Le bâtiment à l'air de rien, mais la nourriture est vraiment délicieuse !
Je le recommande fortement !

Best of the Best. I am a client of Lucky Inn since 1979. This is the best chineese restaurant I know in the region. I never fouind another one like this one. I refer alot of people to that restaurant and up to know no one regrets having their lunch at Lucky Inn.
