Review Le Pain D'alain - Gatineau

My favorite bakery in the neighborhood! Their breads and all baking goods are super delicious! You won't regret anything! Find time to stop by if you are traveling not far from St. Joseph or Alexander Tache.

I took too long to follow up on a recommendation to go to this bakery (almost 4 years). The croissants were highly recommended and reputed to be the best ever. Can't say that they were the best only because that's an impossible level to achieve but they were the most excellent ones I've ever had from a local bakery. White baquette was also very good. The lady at the counter was kind and attentive and switched over to English to accommodate my less than perfect french.

Super torn between 4 and 5 stars. The food is amazing!!!! I have never been disappointed with the food! The food is 5 stars! But…. It’s waaaaay too expensive! If only they could drop their prices by 15% it would be a full 5 star review.

SIMPLY THE BEST bakery shop in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. They have maintained the highest qualities of true French gourmet baking. Their pastries are outstanding !! Bon Appetit !!

This bakery has a wonderful selection of savoury dishes, prepared items, muffins, pastries & bread. My pizza was inventive & delicious. Service was prompt & poly.

Great selection of freshly baked products. Friendly service. Croissant + poached egg breakfast sandwich is legendary. Bought a bunch of fresh croissants to share with my daughter and she said "les croissants sont très bon!"

Amazingly good bakery, with kind staff and a lovely variety of baked goods, soups, quiches and salads. Perfect one stop shop for a delicious dinner on a tired night!

Popped in here one day and found it was completely charming with friendly bilingual staff with a fantastic assortment of freshly baked artisanal breads and baked goods (croissants, brownies, cookies!), sandwiches/paninis, salads, frozen and fresh items, micro-roaster coffee beans, kombucha and more, all packed in an unassuming little storefront. What was surprising was the selection of fresh and frozen vegan meals so I grabbed a couple of store made frozen soups, a millet pie and créton, which were absolutely delicious and plant-based! 😋 Have been back several times and never disappointed.

Variety. This place makes several baked goods (breads, sweet pastries, savory baked goods) and also carries food products from other places (including salads from La belle verte).
