Review La Station Deli & Bar - Gatineau

Good atmosphere, good food, friendly servers. This is a great place for families, friends, and coworkers. I was impressed by how good their fries are. I had the Texas Burgers and it was very good as well. The lunch special came with a curry vegetable soup and coffee/tea, so it was a great value.

We showed up at 9:15pm on Tuesday evening, Melissa ask us if we were in to eat, we said yes. She never mention anything about the closing time (10:00pm). She served us with pride and a very large smile, that I’m not about to forget. What a professional for her young age… Food was excellent, she came and make sure that everything was good. She was not on the schedule of 10:00pm. Who ever is the manager! She’s a real keeper. Thank you Melissa

Surprisingly good hamburger. Tasty pizza. Excellent service from Genevieve. Big spacious restaurant. Looks like they’re prepared for big groups. Big parking lot.

Tried their jumbo butterfly shrimp and chicken fillet strips. The rice and shrimp were perfectly cooked and well-done fillets !! Waited a little longer for service as it was Friday night and packed.

We had the grilled steak with shrimps and the grilled chicken with shrimps. The food was great. The fries were crispy and not too oily. The steak was cooked very well. The steamed veggies are great. Normally they just taste bland and watery, however this time the veggies were very tasty. The chicken was a little dry, but that is understandable because it's chicken and you have to cook it thoroughly. The rice was also a little bit bland to my taste. However, they did provide lemon and butter with the plate. I don't really like butter on chicken or rice but I suppose that is a way to make it less dry. The shrimps were amazing! Nonetheless, we have no complaints. It was a great experience.

Because we were a big group, I didn't want to ask for any food changes - my tacos arrived drowned in sauce, barely any meat. Food is fairly cheap, but not worth it. Service was good 👍 food was not 👎

We heard many great things about this restaurant so we decided to give it a try and we’re not disappointed. The food was great - we shared smoked meat nachos and wings - both were delicious! Service was great and price is also fair. The only disappointment was that we heard specifically that they had amazing pizza but when we arrived they said they aren’t serving their pizza right now due to staffing.

Don't know our servers name but she was amazing. My friend did not receive what she ordered but she didn't want to send it back. The waitress felt bad so she brought her a chocolate brownie. Because of her, we will return.

Always a good environment, food and drinks are great. Must have caught a waitress on a bad day, but otherwise the staff are great!

Food is good, we ordered a variety of plates (chicken and shrimp brochettes, hamburger La Station, nachos, pizza, filet of sole, ..) and eveything was good. The prices are also very good and the plates have big portions. Service though is extremely slow. Everytime we go there it takes forever to be served and have our orders taken even though the resto was practically empty. Also once the order is placed it takes a long time before the plates arrive, so dont go too hungry.

My family and I have been coming to La Station for a few years now every time we make a visit to Ottawa to see my sister. Service has always been good and efficient and the dishes amazing. It's been a bit over a year since I last dined here but the service tonight Mar 1 2020 had been disappointing. Slow service, missing cutlery, wrong dish, etc. Everytime we needed something we had to signal and then wait for a long time for any action. So a 3.5 to 4 star is fair. Our favourite dish is the butterfly shrimp with rice and salad (Crevettes papillon) It's amazing. I would give that dish 5 stars.

The service and food was very good! Very clean! My husband and I both took the À la carte option which comprised of a "chef" salad, BBQ chicken breast with veggies, fries and desert. Everything was good, but they only have one option to choose for desert which is a brownie with walnuts. Not too good of an option for people who have nut allergies. Needless to say, they did not want to substitute for the desert and I had to pay for my apple pie (which was the same price as the brownie) so that is why I gave this restaurant a 4 instead of a 5! It's the principle of the issue.

1st time there and really enjoyed. Menu is pretty standard. Ambience was lovely and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and go again

We went here for lunch a week ago and overall, it was a good experience. The food was good, very affordable prices. Atmosphere was also good, spacious booths. The only thing that left us unimpressed was the level of service we received. The server was courteous in our interactions, but we found the waiting time in between placing drinks, to placing a food order, to waiting for our food and drinks was excessive. Never came to see us after we received our food to check and make sure everything was ok or if we needed something else. The only time she came back to our table was when we were obviously done and wanted the bill.

It's casual but they portions are big we had nachos with chicken. We were so full we ordered only a Philly steak sandwich that we ended up bringing home.

Best fries, shrimps are really good and big.
