Magic. Pure and simple magic.
I came here for the first time to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Our group decided on the discovery menu and by the end I wanted to run back to the kitchen and hug the chef.
As the courses came out paired with a lovely wine selection, I was impressed from moment one. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. But then, oh my, but then the final dish came out. It was duck served in a way I’ve never had before.
It was the kind of dish that gets to the heart of your childhood trauma and takes it all away. It was the best dish I ate in 2022 and possibly my entire life. I cannot wait to return.
I had the discover menu and it was amazing.
5 courses, too much food - I was so very full.
Course 1 salmon, perfection.
Course 2 shellfish risotto, creamy and tasty.
Course 3 beef tartar, grilled cauliflower and ham. Great sauce and combination of ingredients.
Course 4 steak, mushroom and peppers. Yummy!
Course 5 chocolate lava, great way to end my meal.
+smoking hot waiters with genuine hospitality and care
+great indie/alternative music

We greatly appreciate « Le Villain Camion » during the summer months. We follow the daily posts on social media. The menu is limited but changes on a regular basis. The food is always fresh and tasty. Looking forward to sampling more delicious creations this summer.
Our experience was really outstanding!!! The food is original (like alpaca), tasty, beautifully presented, fresh and a topnotch quality (like the tuna, wow). Service was dynamic, kind and efficient. Place looks nice and vibrant. For the price, you can't go wrong with dinner at this restaurant!
Delicious, fresh food and nice service. The prices are a little on the expensive side for brunch dishes but still worth it. We tried the omelette and the smoked salmon eggs Benedict’s and both were greta but their menu chances frequently.
My friends and I had dinner at Les vilains garçons after hearing rave reviews about it - and we were very happy with our experience! The restaurant’s ambiance is very warm and inviting. The staff was extremely attentive and enthusiastic and the food was amazing! Excellent quality at a great price point. We selected the option of 10 small plates for $80. Our waitress mentioned that the menu changes quite often, so I wanted to share some of our favourite plates from that night. The octopus taco was delicious! The goat cheese, the mushroom risotto, the tuna sashimi, the fior de latte frit, the beef tartare, and the menchi katsu de boeuf.
If you’re feeling adventurous, I would highly recommend ordering the discovery menu and the chef will surprise you with his creativity. We especially loved the smoked duck and the salmon sashimi. For dessert - the cheesecake was divine.
Thanks again to the staff at Les vilains garçons for creating such a wonderful dining experience and we’re looking forward to coming back!
Wonderful place you have to visit if you’re in Ottawa/Gatineau. We showed up around 6 and luckily they had a table for us! We got the 5 item plate which was perfect as we got to try different things. The food was phenomenal and the dessert (Mille feuille) at the end was cherry on top.
Lovely ambiance, laid back friendly staff. Perfect spot for a relaxing dinner with my wife. Went for the 10 tapas option and there was plenty of food for both up us, such a variety and really imaginative.
Our lunch at Les Vilains Garcons was a wonderful surprise and later became my personal highlight for our trip to Ottawa/Gatineau. We arrived eagerly, the four of us, in the early afternoon after the drive from Montreal. We were quickly seated and served with water and a short lunch menu. As a party of 4, we ordered 5 of the 6 appetizers and 4 of the 6 main dishes. The service was fairly prompt. After all, we ordered nearly their entire menu. First came a platter of the 5 appetizers. They were beautifully plated and tasted just as good as they look. The main dishes are all quite hearty with the exception of salmon tartare. My personal favorite was the sauerkraut. Its mild acidity allowed to fully enjoy the pickled vegetable while helping me cut back on the heaviness of the deer liver. You heard me right. We ordered deer liver! We got 3 large pieces of deer liver with a large side of fries. Thankfully we were sharing. The chef owned that deer liver. It was extremely flavorful and just shy of being gamey. I felt like I was walking along a tight rope of tastiness. That perfect balance helped us finish the entire plate. Overall the dishes were very creative. Some Asian elements were incorporated such as kimchi. The restaurant also has a large selection of wine which we did not explore.
We can't wait to return!
One the very best meals we've had in Ottawa - period! We did a couple rounds of small plates and just let our server (who was stellar) choose based upon our likes. He did an AWESOME job picking some choices that would normally be a bit outside our comfort zone. Our cocktails were outstanding as well, and even the beer (a double IPA) was great. Overall, an absolute gem in Gatineau and easily in our "top 5" places to eat in Ottawa (at any price point). Well done!
