Review Arome Seafood & Grill - Gatineau

Excellent restaurant located in the Hilton Lac Leamy. Definitely consider this upscale dining. Expansive wine Cellar with high end selection. Service is impeccable. Menu is innovative - you can't pick a bad meal. I had the slow roasted beef sirloin which was top notch. Our party of 10 was very happy with all of their meals.

Make reservations for the best food you'll ever experience. Wonderful service, great tasting wine and 5 star meals.

From valet service to beautiful decorated interior Casino Lac-Leamy never ceases to amaze! The endless dessert bars and the freshly made eggs Benedict upon request were my favorite and the mimosas and bottomless coffee were to die for! No matter what selection you went for the food was fresh and tasteful. Seafood selection was lacking, mostly only shrimp and chowder but you definitely pay for the experience and worth every penny. Our waiter was awesome and super friendly.

This was a great little place for a nice meal. The heated patio overlooking Lac Lemy added a magical touch to our date night. The service is exceptional, friendly and bilingual. The drinks were pretty good; they do not have an extensive cocktail menu, but we were informed there is little they cannot make and we found that to be true! I give the Caesar a 8/10. He had the espresso martini 8/10 and strawberry daiquiri 10/10. For apps, we had the French onion soup. The broth was exceptional and the smoked cheddar cheese an interesting and delightful choice. I wasn’t overly fond of the pork rinds on the top. The Korean ribs were quite yummy, but not at all similar to Korean ribs, they were more of a traditional bbq rib. For mains, we both got steak. They were cooked perfectly, but the plates could use a bit sprucing- what you get is a giant piece (or pieces) of meat and a side. The portions are enormous and could Easily feed two! We had leftovers, which was nice!

BEST guest experience of our lives!! My Dad and I came in there and were treated with such professionalism, kindness, just a fun all over guest experience. We felt cared for, loved, taken care of…we left beyond happy. Our server, Frederick, we left him a $230 tip.. he was on point, caring, engaging, polite, knowledgeable. Very, very happy with our experience. I’ve run and manger managed many restaurants in Ottawa,….this wasTOP NOTCH guest service experience. Look no further. Come here. And ask for Frederick.

My husband brought me here for my birthday early May.The ambiance, the food and the service were amazing. We had a great view from where we were sitting and received an excellent service from Frederic. I had Onion Soup, Grilled Beef Tenderloin and we both had cheesecake for dessert. My husband had a salad and the Slow Cooked Prime Rib. At the end of our soirée we received a nice surprise from Frederic when he told us that to celebrate with us the drinks were on the house. I have to say that the service and the whole experience were worth it. I will definetely go back and I highly recommend the restaurant.

I think I have received truly some of the best service tonight at aroma from our server Antoine. Not only was he attentive to our table through the whole service but his wine recommendation was spot on. 10/10 such a great experience with Antoine thank you!

The food was fantastic. We had the appetizers (focacio and ribs) which were a meal by themselves followed by the cherry cheese cake and the keylime pie. The next night we had the prime rib followed by a double order of keylime pie. As good as the prime rib was we had to leave extra room for the keylime pie. The staff was very curtious and knowledgeable. Definitely worth while but you need to have the time as it may take time.

Enjoyed a very wonderful meal with my wife here for a little weekend away. I ordered the dry aged ribeye, it was wonderful only complaint is they need to trim the exterior of the steak to remove the moldy/dried bits. The veal t-bone was also delicious.

I visited Arome for several times, maybe 4 or 5? This time is the latest time and first time after Covid for my birthday considering that North&Navy this period menu is not amazing also no Italian steak recently. Arome is my back up restaurant when you have some event but other restaurant are fully booked or not sure the quality of the new one. Their aged steak is top level in Ottawa area (but in their new summer menu they do not mention 70days , I forgot to ask the server), It's my first time to having their 2022 summer menu, it changed a lot compare to 2010-2020. Less options, so we try 3/4 dishes on the menu. Wine list I do not need to mention, because it is famous feature of Arome, Tuesday some half price! Good price for some old year wine. Bread fresh baked, warm but not free (maybe free? I ordered it, not general they give us before having dishes, lost receipt), over than most bakery. Risotto is wonderful, kinds of mushroom mix with rice, amazing. Share style seafood plates is transformed from old menu seafood dishes but its better for this version. Steak they have ribeye and filet mignon, look it is filet mignon, not the normal filet, the most rare part for the steak. That's why the 6oz price is similar as a big ribeye, worth it. I brought my cake and they only charge 3.5 per person (2.5 maybe? not sure). They cut very professional and clean the knife between each pieces. It's a impressive night. DON'T forget drop by casino haha

Sunday brunch is fantastic! Beautiful views with amazing service. Make sure you make a reservation for the brunch. There are 2 time slots for brunch, one at 11:30AM and another at 1:30PM. The place fills up but it doesn't feel crowded. The staff were super attentive and polite. The selection is nice and the quality of the food is excellent.

Love it! Food was great! It's the restaurant in Hilton Hotel, fancy! Overall was a good experience for us especially having kids with us soo happy that they gave us a table in the corner and it was very nice! Waiter did a good service 👏 👍 👌

Excelling restaurant with great service. The food is made fresh daily. The buffet has healthy choices of salad bar, soups & a Big selection of delicious desert. Last but not least the view of the pool & lake is breathtaking.

Really enjoyed the Christmas buffet. Beautiful view looking over the river and a private room for about 30 guests. Good service and particularly delicious desserts!

Arome Restaurant offered an exceptional dining experience, characterized by its delightful ambiance, delectable cuisine, and impeccable service. Our birthday celebration was expertly managed by the attentive and amicable staff, who ensured our utmost comfort and satisfaction. The shrimp and scallops appetizer and the prime rib, cooked to perfection, were a gastronomic delight, and their presentation was so enticing that I could not wait to take a photo! Overall, I highly recommend Arome for a remarkable dining experience, particularly if you intend to visit the casino afterward.

I didn't know they had a kids menu, so I am posting a photo for all the parents out there. The kid thoroughly enjoyed it and her kids chocolate cake was to die for. Delicious sea food plate. Different from before, but very satisfying. A tad overpriced but absolutely no regret. My only issue with it (and suggestion) is that I wished it was served on a bigger plate so we could really see the different emulsions and flavors created by the chef. On another night, we had 3 appetizers so we could enjoy dessert. The tuna Peruvian dish is divine. Great calimari. OK salmon tartare. ☺️ Both nights, the waiting staff did very well despite busy evenings. They were friendly and efficient. Someone dropped a knife at some point and the waiter was so quick to replace it, my husband said "he's a ninja". 😂

You pay for what you get and this is a fine dining experience with excellent service. Food was superb and the wine was very tasty. I ordered the seafood platter to split and it could have easily served three people it was so large. I liked that we weren't rushed to finish the meal even if they were getting close to closing time. I'd really like to come back and see what the buffet is like as well as try some of their desserts. Those looked so good but I was way too full to consume anything else.

My mother brought me here for my birthday dinner and it was a delicious meal and wonderful experience. Food was so fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend getting the "Experience" which is 1 app, 1 main, and 1 desert for $72

Great patio!

I throughly enjoyed my experience there with my partner. We went there for Sunday brunch and it was a beautiful day to sit on the patio. Although the all around service was beautiful there where only two dishes I believe were a bit bland for me the pasta as well as the rice. However if mixed with the seafood sauce which had lobster/crabs (not to sure) calamari and scallops it was to die for especially the dessert! Overall a great experience and I truly do recommend!

Had dinner last night and it was disappointing.
Been there many times with family, friends and clients.
They took away their signature dishes. They still have good steak but not better than Sterling. Their signature dishes for me were the Caesar salad with wild boar bacon (now it's regular bacon) and their mashed potatoes with cheese curds ( now regular mashed like mom used to make). Good but I wouldn't spend $500 for dinner at mom's.

Superb meal enjoyed on a Saturday night at this restaurant. From service to flavours, this was one of the best steak meals I've had in a while! My filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the mushroom sauce was delicious. But the random highlight of the meal was that buttery, creamy and cheesy mashed potatoes (yes there were cheese curds in the mashed potatoes). The waiter (Rafael) was awesome and gave us a sampler of rose wines when we couldn't choose which one to order. The selection in the dessert buffet was delicious. The only thing I would comment on: the bread they served in the beginning would have been better served warm, not cold so that the butter spreads. Other than that, wonderful experience and would go again if in the area.

It's a gorgeous venue, with a beautiful view of the Ottawa River. Elegant and fancy ambience. I only came for drinks, so I can't speak much for the food, but they make a very delightful Fraise Martini which I enjoyed. However, the drinks were slow in coming which I notice from previous review has been an issue in the past. They seemed to have a large menu selection but it was quite overpriced ($18 for a poutine, which was in the appetizers section).

Restaurant Arôme at Hilton Lac Leamy. On May 2nd, four of us had dinner at l'Arôme Restaurant at the Hilton Hotel Lac Leamy. We shared three appetizers: beef tartare, escargots and calamari. They were all excellent. Has a main course, two of us had the duck which was gastronomic, one had the chicken and she said that it was the best chicken that she had ever eaten, and the other person had beef which was highly appreciated. The service was outstanding and friendly. Our waiter was Daniel and I must say that he is a charismatic young man. His service was impeccable. We just loved our evening at that restaurant. I would highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates excellent food in a friendly environment.

Amazing. My husband and I had it wedding dinner here and it was spectacular from start to finish. Our guests are still talking about the food 6 months later. The food was impeccably seasoned and perfectly cooked and the servers were attentive and warm.

Horrible Service. We went to L'Arome on Friday, June 27 for our 22nd anniversary. The restaurant is attached to the Hilton. The menu is plentiful, there is something for everyone and the wine list is quite extensive. The problem began when I received my filet mignon. I ordered it medium and when I cut into it, it was well done (there was no pink or red in the meat). Given that the steak was $40, I didn't even take a bite and returned it immediately to the kitchen. These things happen and we decided to patiently wait for a second steak. The waiter then came to the table and rudely began to raise his voice at us and told me that I had the steak the way that I ordered it and that he had done nothing wrong, and accused me of returning my steak for nothing. He was so rude that every single table around me stopped talking and was staring at him. This was our anniversary and I was being scolded like a child by my waiter!!! I complained to the manager and then we basically received zero service until the second steak arrived. The manager was nice enough, but he clearly sided with the waiter. To make matters worse, they still charged me for the steak. The restaurant is nice, and the atmosphere is lovely. If you chose to go to this restaurant, my advice is order you steak less cooked than you would at any other restaurant, and if your steak is overcooked, suck it up and don't send it back or complain because they will ruin your night and basically accuse you of lying. I strongly recommend spending your money at another restaurant that actually treats its customers with some respect.

Pricy but very good. Went for a specal dinner,I had the rack of lamb and my wife had the beef filet, both were cooked perfectly,we started with oyster rockafeller and I have to say it was the best that we ever had.

Best Sunday Brunch Buffet. I dined at Arôme Seafood and Grill with my family on Sunday. We enjoyed a pleasant brunch buffet. By far, Arôme Seafood and Grill is the best buffet I have ever been. Although the brunch was "buffet food", the quality of the food was above and beyond any buffet. There was a large variety of foods to choose from: cheese and crackers; cold cut and meats; pastries and breads; pastas; salads; soups; baked potatoes; and a high-quality selection of desserts. When I walked into the buffet, I had a huge smile on my face when I saw their selection of custard tarts, chocolate moss cakes, and chocolate cakes. My favourite selections were: marinated duck, smoked salmon, the variety of cheeses, and cheesecake. I think they should have a better selection of fruits. When I went, the only fruits they had were melons (water, honeydew, cantaloupe), and pineapple. The price for brunch is $31.90 for an adult, which is fair. I got what I paid for!

I was very pleased with their service. The waitors/waitresses were courteous, and joyful. They were all bilingual, of course. The setting is more to the high-end than casual. The dining space is very tidy and clean. The restaurant was quite full on a Sunday morning, so guests should make reservations before dining. I enjoyed sitting by the window, were I was exposed to the light of the sun. I love how there is a lot of natural sunlight shining into the restaurant. I recommend this restaurant for family and friends who want to treat themselves to a nice, hearty meal.

I'll never go back. I ordered a steak. It looked like it was defrosted in the microwave. When I cut it, the centre was medium (I ordered medium rare) and the edges where well done. My friend ordered ribs and they were very ordinary. Bad execution by the chef. Maybe he/she was having a bad day.

Brazilian Grill not worth the money. We actually went to the Hilton to see the Fireworks and ended up eating at Arome. We thought it was a great idea to try their Brazilian Grill, it is an all you can eat meat bar-b-q and buffet.

The problem is this... the beef and the lamb ends up being a bit over cooked. The waiter said that the cut of beef was rib eye, I don't think so my friend, it did not have enough marbling to be a rib eye. I think it's a cheap sirloin. Furthermore, the appetizer and the salad buffet was pretty pathetic.

Anyway, for $40, it was not worth it.

Bland food, not worth the amount you pay. Disapointing, everything except the venue was mediocre at best. The service wasn't great; we had to ask the server several times for our drinks, we spent a lot of time waiting, he wasn't overly accomodating (had a child at the table)for the price we paid for supper, and he wasn't personable.

I went with the Brazilian bbq - it sounded amazing - but in reality all the food was bland and lacking on flavour, the cut of chicken was full of fat, the prime rib.....well it was the first time I didn't like it, the seafood tasted overly fishy (like it wasn't fresh), and all the rest of the side dishes tasted almost like frozen dinners reheated, especially the mixed veggies. The dessert bar looked impressive but they all tasted frozen and store bought.

My brother ordered the Kobe beef; it came undercooked, after he waited 40 minutes for his meal, and the mashed potatoes were way too milky and lacking in flavour.

I had my 5 year old with me, she ordered from the kids menu, and even her fries and chicken fingers took 40 minutes to arrive.

We did have a beautiful seat on the patio overlooking the pool, so that was my one and only positive. I would never pay that much money to go back there again. And AVOID the Brazilian BBQ.

The calamari was amazing, steak was very good, the mashed potatoes were so so. Not the best. Aside from food, the service was excellent. I sent back a dish which I ordered not realizing that I would not be able to eat it. Not only were they extremely nice about it, they didn't charge me for the extra meal either. It was a little pricey but I left very satisfied with my meal & the service I received.
Better IS Better
Mixed Feelings.. I've done Breakfast here and enjoyed it. A little pricey, but good nonetheless.

I've gone for dinner. While the food quality was there, a flavour of prentenciousness came with the service. My companion was recommended pork items three times even after explaining they were Muslim and did not eat pork.

Good for a steak on the water - beware of the service

Very good breakfast buffet.. We had a bed and breakfast rate at the Hilton Lac-Leamy where this restaurant is located. The breakfast included hot and cold items. There is a make-your-own waffle station, which is fun (and quite delicious), and there is a chef ready to make any sort of eggs you like - omelets or just over easy. Most people didn't bother asking him to do anything special and just went for the scrambled eggs in the buffet, but he made me an excellent omelet and seemed happy just to be asked.
There was a good selection of juices and fresh fruit as well as danishes and croissants. The coffee is served tableside by the waiters, and they can leave a pot if you like.
For Hilton Gold and Platinum members, only the cold buffet is included, but even then there are enough interesting items to fill you up.

Excellent food and service! Well worth the price.

My fave!. Hands down best steak I've eaten in a restaurant. Excellent service and pleasant location.
