Rosie's was highly recommended to us by hotel staff and it was excellent. We had the Cold Plate and Turkey Dinner - what can I say, fast service, delicious, good value for money. And the bakery up front - buns, cakes, pies, pastries and chocolate Moose Farts (!). We were too full to partake but guessing from the shelves, all bakery goods are very popular with customers. You Gotta Eat Here!
Went here with my girlfriend and her parents on a trip to Newfoundland. I've eaten at a few great local places so far, and this is indeed another one.
The service was relaxed and friendly and the Club House sandwich with beef barley soup I ordered was fantastic. Being a bakery as well, the bread was made in-house! They have a wide menu, ranging from sandwiches and wraps, to pasta, to full on Newfoundland style turkey dinner.
When you go up front, there's also a ton of bread and baked goods available. I didn't get to try any of those but they look amazing too.
If you're heading to or through Gander, this place is absolutely worth a stop, even if there's a wait.

I had a wonderful meal of beef barley soup, 2 piece fish n chips, and a slice of Partridge Berry pie.
I didn't have a reservation, but was accommodated with a smile and seated immediately.
The soup was hot and delicious, the fish was cooked perfectly and the pile of fries was gargantuan!
I'd never had Partridge Berry, so I went for the pie as a dessert. It's akin to cranberry, but much less powerful and sweet. The pie crust however was one of the flakiest I've ever had.
All around a delicious experience, I'd go back again (and I just might!)

This restaurant was suggested to us and we can see why. Although we had to wait for a table due to covid restrictions, it have is a chance to look at the menu and decide what to order. Good variety! It was busy but good arrived soon. The staff are friendly and prices are reasonable.
The only minor complaint was Covid related and some of the staff being unsure of the newest changes. The salmon my wife had was delicious as was the lasagna that I had. They are licensed and carry local beers.
Sunday dinner is awesome! They're not joking when they say it'll feed you for a week! Friendly staff and fast service. Would highly recommend!
Excellent service!! Amazing delicious meals!! I totally enjoyed my jiggs dinner. Brother in law had the Sunday dinner, sister had hot turkey sandwich and my dad had the fish and chips. Bring a big appetite, huge portions. Thank you Rosie's Restaurant for such a lovely evening. Will definitely be returning when in NL again.
