they carted to my daughter gluten allergy and made sure that everything was gluten free and the least amount of cross contamination happened. i highly suggest "bugging" the staff to see what is available to your dietary needs.. i know my waitress had no problem asking kitchen staff on what they could do for us.. it makes it much nicer knowing we can go out and have a place that i wont have to worry about my daughter having an allergic reaction to something they claimed was "gf" but isnt. she can handle small amounts of cross contamination but not hidden gluten people wouldnt even think of
Love this place, we don't eat out often, busy kids... we are never disappointed here, the food is great, my kids love it, best grilled cheese and steaks in town. I love the wings and seafood chowder. The staff are always amazing. We have so many places to choose from but Rousabouts is always 5 stars.
staff was really friendly and prompt...order a pizza and it was great and the house dip was good as well..i have eaten here a few times with the hubby and every time we go we are never disappointed...wonderful place to go and relax...not like other places that want you to eat and get out or have to wait over an hours for cold food...i recommend this place for a nice meal or get togethers with friends....wonderful atmosphere!!!!!
This seems to be a local favourite and is especially accommodating for large groups. I was surprised they had Caribbean inspired dishes on the menu, so tried the Caribbean Curry ($16) for lunch. I don't know what happened, but for some reason.. this place is getting better! I don't remember being satisfied with service or food from a year ago, but this place is certainly doing something right as of recent... 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great Staff and Even Better Food. While working in Fort St. John, I had only a very short break during the work day but still wanted to sit down to a nice meal. After reading others reviews of the restaurant, I decided to give them a try. In order to allow enough time to eat, the manager kindly took our food order over the phone and was glad to accommodate us. When we arrived, we were immediately brought to a booth and had our drinks brought to us. Within 5 minutes, we received our meals and upon request, we're also given our bills and take out containers in case we didn't have enough time to finish our meals. We were in and out of the restaurant successfully in under 20 minutes. I had the chicken club with a Greek salad and a cup of hot and sour soup. The sandwich was awesome all around. The only problem with the soup was that I wished I had ordered more for later. The Greek salad was nice but the tomatoes were extremely pale and I hold value in quality produce. I was very pleased with my meal. I could see into the kitchen from where I was sitting. It was clean but I was disappointed to see that one of the male cooks, who had shaggy, curly hair, was not wearing a hair net. I have worked in many kitchens myself and hairnets were mandatory for everyone. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and was generally pleased.
Gluten free friendly. We had a mix of allergies at our table and were assured before hand they could handle gluten-free meals. Our waitress didn't seem to be too on top of it, but did willingly go back and forth to the kitchen to ask questions. The mussels came with garlic toast on the side, even though it was told to be a gluten-free dish so that caused a bit of unease.
We were also told that a gluten-free and allergy menu would be out "soon", so they are aware and trying to handle the issues.
Great food great service. Ordered deep fried prawns first time they rocked and second time they were subpar. But love the kids menu and very accomadating tofamily
Was in fsj for a night. Had the beef dip, friend had the double burger. Both were great! So hard to find decent food up here. Roustabouts is great choice and it's not far from the airport.

An absolutely scrumptious burger called the pump house or pump man or whatever. A little on the steep side though to add the cheese bacon and mushrooms. This and the fact that they were canned mushrooms are it's only downfall. Restaurants should really stay away from canned fare. I get enough of that at home.
Stayed in Fort St John for almost 3 weeks and ate at roustabouts probably 10 or 11 times. Did not have a bad meal once. Service was friendly and quick (a little slower on the weekends, but I guess that is to be expected). If you find yourself in fsj stop by!
